Overview
Over the years, there has been a drastic change in consumer behaviour, and an increasing number of consumers are shifting towards seeking products online, and purchasing various products, such as FMCG products, clothes, electronic products and others, through e-commerce, which is also contributing to the global growth of the wine cooler market. The global growth of online sales channels, along with an increase in the product portfolio of wine coolers through new product launches, is projected to accelerate the growth of the global single zone wine cooler market. Moreover, the frequent introduction of wine coolers targeting household consumers is creating considerable opportunities in the global single zone wine cooler market. By product type, the market can be segmented into Thermoelectric Wine Coolers, Compressor Wine Coolers. A thermoelectric cooler uses a different process to remove heat from the interior cabinet, one based upon the Peltier effect, which is named for the 19th century scientist who discovered it. In this progression, an electric current is sent through two pieces of metal that have been combined together. Because the two sides of the device are made of different materials, a heat flux is created and heat flows from one side to the other. While cooler works, one side gets hot while the other gets cold. The hot side of the device is attached to a heat sink, a large passive component made up of stacks of aluminium fins that is designed to let heat dissipate efficiently. The cold side is fitted inside the cooler cabinet. Heat is absorbed from the interior, passes through the Peltier element into the heat sink, and then dissipates into the air. While the Peltier device itself has no moving parts, it is often combined with fans on the interior and the exterior to ensure sufficient air circulation and ventilation. A compressor wine cooler works pretty much like a standard refrigerator works, except on a smaller scale, using the vapour compression cycle to remove heat from the interior of the cabinet. A vapour compression refrigeration system (which is the same technology used for air conditioners) relies on a coolant gas (a refrigerant) to carry heat from inside the unit and
expel it externally. In most of the wine coolers, the cold air formed by the evaporator is passed through an aluminium panel, which then radiates cold air into the cabinet's interior, lowering the temperature. Some models, like New Air’s built-in wine coolers, also use fans to circulate the air, to ensure more even temperatures throughout. By application, the market categorized into Home Use, Commercial Use and Other Applications. Single zone wine cooler downstream is wide and recently wine cooler has acquired increasing significance in various fields of Home Use, Commercial Use and Other Applications. In the USA, the wine/beverage cooler market is mainly driven by growing demand for Home Use which account for nearly 65% of total downstream consumption of wine cooler in USA. But still commercial wine cooler remains top selling product in wine cooler market. The residential wine cooler is however gradually taking over, in terms of rate of demand growth. The global market of single zone wine cooler is segmented on the basis of regions, which include North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific Excluding Japan (APEJ), Europe, Middle East & Africa and Japan. Among all the regions, the Europe and North America regions are estimated to have a substantial value share. In terms of value, APEJ is the most attractive region in the global single zone wine cooler market, and is expected to grow in rapid pace over the forecast period. The APEJ region is expected to gain 53 BPS during the forecast period. Moreover, favourable trade policies, the growing production of electronic goods, a global increase in per capita income, favourable demographics and shifting consumer preference to branded products are also among factors that are expected to boost the demand for single zone wine coolers during the forecast period.
