The plan explains how a single module is broken down into multiple forms eventually resulting into a variety of spaces. The section from A to B progresses with variation in the spatial structure as well as the function , but connected by a linear axial space so as to let the line of sight continue and keeps one enveloped in

the environment all the time. The half vaulted structures face the south sun, to eventually get a very diffused light into the exhibition areas. The rear end of the site is sunken , so that is utilised to make a taller tructure to house other activities like pottery, printmaking, etc.

BRIEFS AND THE MASTERPLAN STUDIES BRIEFS AND THE MASTERPLAN STUDIES The sudy resulted into a brief which was to inhabit 1.6 million sft of built up area on a 47.25 acr of land. The plit of the BUA was done amongst 1,2,3 bhk unit types each with 900,4000,1000 units across the master plan to be developed in 8 phases. Total parking requirement would be satisfied on the surface and single basement. The study here is to show the progression of the master plan @45m or G+14

THE MASTER PLAN With the understanding of the figure ground study , by trying out options in which blocks are placed in linear pattern, court type pattern with mixes of the the three types within the same tower or phasing as per the type of the unit.We arrived at a scheme where the peripheral towers hit the tallest required ht and the middle units would start forming these internal courts and start directing the movement more towards the open maidan , whch also goes towards the civic amenities. The club houses would largely occupy the stilt areas of the built mass

IDEA OF THE PLAN The whole idea of the built form is to create a sequence of experience from the outside to the inside, So one hits an experiential STRAMP, which slows down your movement and help open up infinite spaces around , comes down to an amphitheatre stepped area and takes a linear

path towards the arrival of the marketing office. The reception and waiting area is a double ht area to give the spirit of arrival and the corridor inside makes you aware of the path one has just travelled with all the served areas on one side.

UNIT LVL PROPOSITION The arrival into the unit plan opens into the balcony which is a buffer space for lprivate and public areas. This opens up cross ventilation, a luxury in the hot and humid zone like chennai The unit bays are staggered so as to block the west sun completely, have proximity on north south direction . This also helps create the overall form of the tower. So the entire language is climate di driven

SITE LEVEL PROPOSITION The ground plane is the celebrated section with all the amenities at the lower lvl , with certain functions like the multipurpose hall and the arrival waiting area are double ht volumes. The east faces the

– GYMNA ASIUM FORM

METAPHO OR – BOAT T

The gymnasium at the first floor lvl was percieved as an installation that can become the odd form meant to be appreciated for its alien character. So the, just projected out gynasium building is split into llevels, such that it appears like a very abstract form of a BOAT., where the deck and the form of the soffit have certain interpretations, and it also creates variety of spaces

The idea was to open upthe east face , and create break ups between the functions to lconnect the viewer from the inside to the centrall plazza..The l h ground d plane l is free f and d the internal atrium space helps cross ventilation and stack effect . The building is community space , that encourages people to gather and converse on innovation.

The inner curve of the building opens into the amphitheatre zone, below which is the hall of tranquility. Also the central space space connects one visually to the arrival space. The existing lake one the east help to draw the breeze towards the inside of the building.

SITE LEVEL PROPOSITION The site is a 100 acres land that gently slopes down towards the central flat zone.. There is an existing lake that makes one humble as one stands right in front of it. So the whole idea was to enhance h the h sequence off movement towards the lake and then to accentuate the movement along the promenade that has academeic zone towards left and d the h water stream on the h right, which is how the rain water will be channeled to meet the external lake. The residential zone is towards south keeping in view the eastt – westt orientation i t ti .The Th library becomes the focal point. The fluid character of the space encourages infirmal gathering spaces. ACADEMIC ZONE The academic zone is a juxtaposition of several squares formed by the open spaces left over by the built mass. There is primary axis that is the promenade confronting towards the water edge. The secondary spine is the next level of intervention. There are regular break ups perpendicular to the water stream. The entrire planning is enhance the experience of the green campus by unfolding the infinite spaces all around it.

RESIDENTIAL ZONE The hostels are court formations by creating a linear prototype of hostels, categorising them into three types .the four student sharing, double sharing and the last is the single room hostel. So as to celebrate the water edge. The hostel blocks are raised from G+5, G+7,G+11 G ,G towards to a ds G G+15 5 htt buildings and spread more across the horizontal canvas.
