NEW HEALTHCARE PROGRAMS Patient Care Technician In one semester, you can learn to provide basic acute care for patients in a hospital setting. This entry level program is one of the first steps to a career in health care. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) duties include assisting patients with many tasks that they cannot do for themselves while they are in hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, assisted living facilities, nursing homes or long-term care facilities.

Clinical Medical Assistant A Clinical Medical Assistant performs various duties under the direction of a physician in the examination and treatment of patients. This 2 semester program will cover basic anatomy, physiology and phlebotomy. In addition to patient care, students will also study medical terminology and the administrative processes of coding and billing. 64% of CMAs work in a physician’s office.

EKG Technician By earning a certificate in two semesters as an EKG Technician, you are taking the next step in advancing your healthcare career. EKG Technicians perform electrocardiograms, known as EKGs, which trace electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. The EKG technician places electrodes to the patient’s chest, arms, and legs to obtain a printed reading, which is given to the physician. EKG Technicians can work in hospitals, cardiologist’s offices and rehabilitation clinics.
