DIGEST
Who we are... We are moms, dads and grandparents just like you. We have the same concerns for our children’s health, safety and education that you do. We created the Kidz Digest because there was nothing like it in Amarillo. We as parents and grandparents are always looking to improve and enrich our children’s lives and we assumed that many of our readers would feel the same way. Our mission is to make a meaningful contribution to our community. The Kidz Digest targets parents, grandparents and children themselves with a concentration on education, health, positive activities and community information. Besides providing a much needed service, we feel blessed to have happy, healthy children so we would like to give back by helping children in need in our area. So 10% of the proceeds of the Kidz Digest go to The Panhandle Assessment Center. The Panhandle Assessment Center is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency shelter and foster placement for abused or abandoned children in Child Protective Services (CPS) custody.
The Kidz Digest is distributed in American Classifieds once a month throughout Amarillo, Canyon, Bushland and Boys Ranch. We also distribute to the medical center, mall area and our advertisers locations. We also have a fun, interactive website at www.amarillokidz.com, that you can view the entire magazine and find useful tools, information, entertainment and other fun stuff for your children. Or become on friend on myspace at myspace.com/amarillokids We hope you grow to love and use this magazine as much as we do! We would like to thank you for your support and our advertisers for their contribution.
Sincerely, Debby, Cristi, Ryan, Jennelle, Becky, Jimmy, Teri, Leslie, Cherisa, Candy and all of our little rug rats!

feature article... Registeration Is Now Open For 2010 Summer Camp Season Come to Glorieta Summer Camps and experience an unforgettable summer of fun, adventure, and growth! Glorieta Summer Camps is made up of three separate camps, Camp Glorieta for Boys, Camp Glorieta for Girls and Glorieta Family Camp. These exceptional facilities are owned and operated by LifeWay Christian Resources. At our boys and girls camp activities are designed with each specific age group in mind. Our staff go the extra mile by taking time to walk with campers when they need a friend, being exceptionally patient in teaching a new skill and calling or e-mailing them during the school year just to check in, according to Hal Hill, director of LifeWay Summer Camps and Glorieta Conference Center. “The staff’s goal is for each camper who comes through our gates to know that he or she is loved unconditionally. We want our campers to know that God has created each of them as individuals, with different gifts and traits that only they possess,” he said. The camps are founded on the teachings of Jesus Christ, and Glorieta camp staff will seek to show the love, grace and truth of Him in all that they do, Hill noted.
www.amarillokidz.com “The lives of our staff are called to reflect God in such a way that the lives of their campers will be transformed. That’s why love for Jesus Christ and young people is our primary criteria for hiring our carefully selected staff,” Hill said. Beginning in the summer of 2010, Glorieta Summer Camps will begin offering Family Camp. These week long programs will give your family plenty of opportunities for adventure in the Southern Rocky Mountains. Along with great games, encouraging speakers, and uplifting worship leaders to help your family grow closer together and grow closer to God. Our heart and our passion at Glorieta Summer Camps is to exalt Jesus in all that we do. The philosophy at our camps for boys and girls is on growth...physically, socially, mentally, and spiritually. At our family camps we focus on enriching, enhancing, encouraging and engaging the family. “Our goal is to help campers build their relationships with God in a safe, fun-filled environment and build memories that will last a lifetime,” Hill added. “Happy Rooms For Happy Kids!” Artist Info: Lesley Ingham ~ I have always loved art. I have always loved creating, and I have always loved pretty things, but I had never experienced the kind of inspiration that I have now with my two precious children: Allison (3), and Kahlon (1 1/2). From the moment I knew I was expecting Alli, I began thinking of beautiful theme ideas for her nursery... and we ended up with a spring time type of theme, since her birthday is in April. Butterflies and bunnies in light pastels and sheer draperies is what I came up with. I beamed with joy each time I walked into her room! It turns out that her room matched her - light and blonde-headed, and pretty!
