ewspapers have traditionally relegated sports news to the back page or last section of the issue. The Ambassador is a little different in that we have rarely spotlighted sports news since we have limited space each month. There is an old saying that “newspapers show mans achievements on the sports page and his failures on the front page”. Although clever and pithy, it is not always accurate. Much of the time when sports shows up on the front page it’s due to some disheartening scandal, from steroid or other drug use, to cheating or other criminal behavior. Our sports “heroes” have all too often turned out to be poor role models in recent decades. Fortunately, there has been a new trend in the sports world that has begun turning heads- Athletes inspiring people for good! Even better, several new sports heroes are coming out strong about their Christian faith. It is sad that the phrase “coming out” has been “hijacked” by the gay population, but

these athletes are coming out for Jesus! In fact, several major sports have seen the rise of “superstar” quality athletes who have done amazing things on the field/ court and developed a huge fan base. Tim Tebow is probably the most well known and polarizing of the bunch with his amazing half-season run with the Denver Bronco’s prior to being traded to the New York Jets. Tebow is VERY vocal about his faith in Christ and has become one of the most talked about people in the nation! In basketball, Jeremy Linn set records and amazed fans to the point of “Linsanity”. Before the embers of Tebowmania were cold, Linsanity took the nation by storm. Although not as visibly outspoken for his faith, Lin is certainly a bold and dedicated witness for those around him while less polarizing than Tebow. Turning to baseball, 2011 Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw, freely shares that Jesus is much more important to him than baseball. Golfer Bubba Watson, won the Masters to earn the right to wear the coveted Green Jacket and promptly began his

emotional acceptance speech by thanking his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Boxer Manny Pacquiao speaks boldly for Jesus and shares his dramatic testimony wherever he’s given the opportunity. What a wonderful time to take the national (maybe global) stage and use it bring glory to the one who gave them the talent and skill to reach those marvelous achievements. How much better it is to see athletes work hard, live right, worship God and excel at their calling and then use the opportunity to spread his grace and glory instead of pumping up their own selfrighteousness. Many will doubt and even mock their commitment of faith. In fact, in an outlandish effort to mock and shame Tim Tebow an online “adultery” service ( a dating service for married people!) has recently publically offered $10,000 to any woman who can prove that she had sexual relations with the Christian quarterback. Unbelieving mockery is not out of the norm. What is unusual is the integrity of high profile young athletes. We can all take a lesson from these young men and

Atheist Responds to Christian Love

Father, May I?

A few months ago Patrick Greene was an atheist who was threatening to sue Henderson County, Texas, if the county didn’t remove a Nativity scene from its courthouse lawn. Today he is a believer in Christ who underwent a radical change of heart that was catalyzed by the compassion of one Christian woman. In late 2011, Greene joined the fight against a Nativity scene that had been set up outside the courthouse in the town of Athens, Texas, threatening to file a lawsuit over it. Shortly after he made his threat, however, he discovered that his ability to see was rapidly deteriorating and he would soon be blind, so he withdrew his threats and left the Nativity alone. That’s when Jessica Crye, a Christian woman from Athens, asked her pastor, Erick Graham of Sand Springs Baptist Church, if they could help Greene. As a result of her kindness, thousands of dollars in donations have gone toward helping Greene, who has reconsidered his view of God as a result. “There’s been one lingering thought in the back of my head my entire life, and it’s one thought that I’ve never been able to reconcile, and that is the vast difference between all the animals and us,” Greene told The Christian Post on Tuesday, as he began to explain his recent transformation from atheist to Christian. The theory of evolution didn’t answer his questions,

he says, so he just set those questions aside and didn’t think about them anymore. But when the Christians in a town that had reason to be angry with him showed him a gesture of love, he began reconsidering his beliefs altogether. He eventually began to realize that evolution would never have the answer to his questions, he says, and it was at that time he began to believe in God. “I kind of realized that the questions I [was] asking you just had to accept on faith without doubting every period and every comma,” he said. He later began studying the Bible, both the Old Testament and the Gospels, and also discovered his belief that Jesus is the Son of God. CONT. ON PG 7 - ATHEIST

“Susie, take three giant steps forward,” commanded the game’s leader. “Mother, may I?” Susie requested. “Yes, you may.” Susie stretched forward three long steps. “Johnny, hop forward five times,” the mother-player directed. “Mother, may I?” Johnny asked, remembering his manners. “No, you may not,” came the reply. Johnny had to stay put. And so the game went on with random commands and permission to advance until one child reached “Mother” and took the place as leader. How did our self-esteem survive that brutal game when we played it years ago? How dare someone tell us what we could or couldn’t do? Remember, if we forgot to say Mother, may I, we had to go back to the starting point. It’s hard to be told no when we’re doing our best. What if there was a way to get a yes answer every time? What if, instead of a game with a pretend mother, it’s real life with a Heavenly Father. What if the requests went something like this: “Father, may I have a mind that’s pure? May I have eyes and ears that see and hear what is honorable and true? Father, may I have lips that use words to encourage and build up? May I have a heart of compassion and feet that stand firm? May I have a will that is surrendered to

You? May I glorify You? ”These are requests the Father delights to answer with a resounding YES! The “may I” questions reveal a child-like trust that honors the great sacrifice that brought us into the family of God. They indicate our profound desire to be molded into the image of His Son. They expose our need of the Holy Spirit’s activity to produce lasting change. Each of us can make our own list of “may I” questions for the Father, but for starters, perhaps we can use them to pray for ourselves and others from the head down to the feet. Scripture is full of proof that prayers like this agree with the heart of God. For example, Paul wrote in Philippians 4:8, “Whatsoever is pure…think about such things.” Solomon warned us to guard our eyes, mouths, and feet when he wrote, “Keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead. Make level paths for your feet and walk only in ways that are firm” (Proverbs 4:24-26). David prayed in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” This month of May, will you join me in praying “Father, may I” prayers? I guarantee we will grow in grace, and the Giver of every good and perfect gift will do immeasurably more than we can ever ask or think. Be sure to share the blessings!

The Discovery Of Forgiveness

The Wizard of Oz is reminiscent of a house being lifted into the air, spinning, then crashing down……boom! Darrell Gilles and his family never dreamed they would experience this in real life on Friday, March 2, 2012, in Henryville, Indiana. Darrell recounts, “I walked around the corner of the house and there was a funnel cloud off in the distance. I prayed it would skip us, but I could tell it was coming right for us. I started hearing it breaking trees. I ran into the house and squeezed everybody into the closet.” Trish told the children, “You’re going to hear loud noises. God’s going to protect you. Just keep praying.” Then she remembers the house spinning. Darrell says, “As soon as I heard the roar, I started hearing stuff break and you could feel the house shift and lift up in the air. It flipped over on its top and crashed down, one big crash on the ground. Boom! “I don’t think I was out very long. I raised up and my wife was in front of me. She was crying, saying her back hurt. I tried to help her, but I could barely move. I saw my kids all strung out on the other side of us, laying face down, not moving. “I tried to help my wife, but couldn’t. So, one shoe on and one shoe off, I tried to walk over to the kids. Thank God, somebody saw me and come down to help.

“We started to go up the hill. I looked back and right over the same horizon was a great big tornado working up. It was swirling around and it was coming. That guy turned around to see what I was looking at and he saw it. He picked up a piece of plywood and covered Trish with it as best he could. Hail started falling.” With every rib broken, a punctured lung, a broken sternum, clavicle, and jaw, Darrell pressed on. “All I could find was some little pieces of drywall. I squished the kids together and covered our heads up. Pretty much got beaten to death with baseball-sized hail. That finally passed and we got up and somehow made it to a neighbor’s house

Four-hundred and ninety times. That was Jesus’ answer to the question, “How many times should I forgive someone who has offended me.” I don’t think Jesus was being literal; how I wish he were! Then there would at least be a boundary. Jesus was saying, however, “Stop keeping score. There is no limit to how many times you grant forgiveness to others.” This sounds like lunacy. Why would Jesus say such a thing? Here is an answer: When we forgive others without limit, we are treating others as God treats the world. God loves and forgives without restraint or limitation. So when Jesus teaches us to forgive without limit, he is calling us to bear the loving image of God in the world. We forgive because that’s what God does. I don’t think profound, God-like forgiveness is something we humans can accomplish within our own power. No, if forgiveness flows out of us to others, it is because God is doing it and not us ourselves. Consequently, forgiveness is not so much something we do, as it is something we discover. It is the discovery of God’s inexhaustible, inconceivable, insuppressible grace – for ourselves – and for those who have hurt us. There is a television show on the

A&E Network called “Storage Wars.” Storage units that have been abandoned or defaulted upon by the renters are opened, and bidders show up to bid for the contents of the unit. A man bought the contents of one storage unit for $1,100. Inside the unit were nearly 2,000 gold and silver Spanish coins worth more than $500,000. Forgiveness works like that: We begin sorting through the baggage and the storage units of our life. We start unpacking all our pain, and as we rummage sort, shuffle, and restack the cardboard and Rubbermaid boxes of our past hurts, lo and behold, we stumble across a treasure. There it is, and it has been there all along, right in the midst of all our rubbish: The unexpected discovery of God’s unlimited grace. He really loves us. He loves us so much, that his love is enough to forgive those who have hurt us. His forgiveness is so invaluable that no matter what life has cost us, it will pay the price, and then some. CONT. FROM PG 4 Now this former atheist says he’s not only a Christian, but he also wants to become a pastor. Greene plans to either join a nearby liberal congregation or may even start his own chapter of the Rainbow Baptists, an outreach ministry of The Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists that supports the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. He says he feels strongly that homosexuality is acceptable in Christianity, and claims the Bible’s original approach to issues of homosexuality has been altered over the last 2,000 years. Greene says his wife of nearly 34 years, who is still an atheist, was “surprised” at his conversion but understands him. Even though they disagree on the issue, they haven’t argued over it. “We don’t interfere with each other’s differences, we don’t put each other down because of it,” he said. As a symbol of his appreciation to the Christian community both in and around Athens, Greene has purchased a star for the top of the tree that is part of the Christmas display he once railed against. He has also written a letter to the Freedom From Religion Foundation, an organization that said the Nativity display was unconstitutional, to explain why their legal arguments against the Nativity are not valid. Formerly a self-employed taxi cab driver, Greene was forced to give up his career after being diagnosed with cata-

racts and discovering symptoms of a detached retina and glaucoma. Although he says blindness is inevitable, he is still pursuing a second opinion of his diagnosis. Greene says he was able to pay for his rent, bills, groceries and money owed from taxes thanks to the generous donations made by both Christians and atheists alike. In addition to receiving money from Sand Springs Baptist Church, he also received funds through two Go Fund Me fundraising accounts he set up for himself. He hopes to eventually use some of the donation money to move out of his San Antonio apartment and get his wife the “dream” mobile home that she has always wanted. Once he purchases the mobile home, any leftover money that was donated to him will go to the Humane Society in order to help the fight against animal cruelty and abuse. Greene was raised in a Catholic family, and says he read the Bible frequently during his teenage years. As a new Christian, he says he finds it “shameful” for someone to say they are a Christian but not make it a habit of reading the Scriptures. “What has always bugged me, which I want to make a change to ...is the vast amount of Christians in this country don’t read the Bible regularly or don’t read it at all,” he said. Atheists are proud when they know more about the Bible than Christians do, he says, and he hopes to get people to read it so regularly that it becomes “just like waking up and brushing their teeth.”

“Collin, who hadn’t had a scratch on him, just stayed at Grandma’s house. She didn’t have a scratch on her. So they stayed there and two kids going to Kosair and my wife going to – I don’t know where. I’ll never stop knowing how much we were blessed and how much worse it could have been. The man just right across the street got slammed with a tornado that got him and killed him. A lot of people who had it a lot worse. Just praise the Lord, it could have been so much worse.” Darrell keeps saying, “Another reason I thank God is…” and then telling some other anecdote that showed how much worse things could have gone. One thing is that the tornado brought down many power lines, hissing all over the ground. It was dangerous territory for the survivors and rescuers. But no one was electrocuted. God is merciful and sovereign. Trish said, “There was five little prayers in that closet, all different prayers. But I think all five of them worked. Wasn’t one better than the other, all five of them, God heard them.” They are telling their children over and over how wonderful God was, how much He loves them all and how much they should thank God for keeping them safe. They give God the credit in answering their prayers and miraculously saving their family. “We just had to have angels helping us to land a little softly.” Darrell suffered a punctured lung, every rib broken, a broken jaw, shoulder, clavicle and sternum, totalling 19 broken bones; Trish a shattered pelvis, collapsed lung, and shoulder injury; Caleb, age 11, bruised ribs and a broken back in two places; Collin, age 10, a couple bruises; Mia, age 8, a severe concussion and bruised liver. She was in a medically-induced coma for a short time to allow healing. When she woke up, her first words were “We survived.” They have little insurance to cover medical expenses and no financial income for the weeks Darrell will be without work. RESOURCES Chuck Colson - God’s Man In The Arena by Richard Land Chuck Colson (1931-2012) was a giant among Christians in America. If there were an Evangelical Mount Rushmore, Chuck Colson would be on it. Those of us privileged to know Chuck only this side of his conversion to personal faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior found it hard to fathom that this was the same Chuck Colson who was President Nixon’s ruthless master of dirty tricks and political hardball. The Chuck Colson we knew and loved was one of the kindest, gentlest, humblest, most generous people you could ever know. In a way, Chuck Colson was, like a late 20th-century Apostle Paul, radically transformed by his Damascus Road experience with Jesus Christ. Mr. Colson, after his religious conversion, pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and served seven months in prison. After his release he founded Prison Fellowship (1976), which has had an enormous impact in ministering the Christian message of salvation and renewal through Jesus Christ to tens of thousands of inmates and their families. In 1993 he was awarded the Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion, in recognition of his invaluable contributions to American religion. When Chuck became an Evangelical believer, he devoted all of his brilliance, skill and determination to the advancement of Christ’s kingdom. On the wall of my office I have a framed quotation from President Theodore Roosevelt. I carried the quotation in my wallet for a long time before having a copy made for my office wall. It is Roosevelt’s tribute to the man of action that so encapsulated his persona. President Roosevelt proclaimed: “the credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood: who strives valiantly; . . . to do the deeds, who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows

in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly. . . .” Just so, Chuck Colson was God’s man in the arena, daring great things for God’s cause, rousing Evangelicals and Catholics to work together as allies across denominational lines on issues of common cause. As an advocate for Christian engagement with public policy and culture, Chuck Colson carried on the work of the late Francis Schaeffer (1912-1984) more effectively than anyone else in American Christianity. Perhaps Chuck Colson’s most lasting legacy will be the Manhattan Declaration. Chuck was absolutely essential in bringing together Evangelical, Catholic, and Orthodox religious leaders to hammer out an eloquent statement of common ground on three issues critical to people of faith in America: the sanctity of life; the institution of marriage; and religious freedom. This seminal document, already signed by more than half a million American Christians, will continue to rise in importance and influence as these issues escalate in controversy in our society. Without Chuck Colson there would have been no Manhattan Declaration. What a great Christian. What a great American. What a great friend. Chuck, we know you have gone home to a better place, having heard “well done, thy good and faithful servant.” However, we who are left behind mourn our loss. Eighty years of Chuck Colson was not enough. We will miss your brilliance, your courage, your devotion, your inspiration and your encouragement. Therapy Dog Brings Love And Comfort

COMMUNITY My Sister Is A Nag And She Changed My Life by Jan Duke

When Cindy Pitter and her dog, Honey, a three year old, yellow Labrador Retriever walk into a room, faces instantly light up. Cindy and Honey are Pet Therapy Volunteers and each week visit several care facilities for the elderly. The homes range from Assisted Living, Convalescent and Alzheimer care. “I feel that this is a ministry that the Lord has given me,” says Cindy. Six years ago Cindy was diagnosed with kidney failure. She has since recovered, but went through a difficult time. She had to undergo chemotherapy. For many months, she was sick and felt lonely and isolated. “The Lord let me recover for a purpose and I felt led to use my dog to bring love and comfort to those who are hurting and lonely”. Each week as Cindy and Honey go out to visit, Cindy prays for the Lord’s blessing and opportunities to show God’s love to each person she meets. Cindy has seen residents who seem quiet and withdrawn come to life when they meet the dog. They have big smiles on their faces and begin to pet Honey and talk to her. Honey loves all the attention and will often respond with a big smile and a wagging tail. Many of the residents have had a dog sometime in their life and will often share stories about their favorite dog. This is especially helpful for patients with Alzheimer’s as it stimulates their memory. “It is so neat to see them get excited about something and have something to look forward to, for many it is the highlight of their week”. Cindy has seen people respond in some pretty remarkable ways . One woman who was new at a facility had not spoken for a month and started speaking in sentences when she saw Honey. A staff member said she had not spoken a word since she had been there. These are the experiences that make it all worthwhile. Cindy finds that not only do they minister to the patients, but they also minister to the staff. “The staff at these facilities work so hard and have difficult challenges, the dog helps to cheer them

up”. Many of the staff have commented that the visit was good Therapy for them also. Honey definitely has her favorites and will get very excited when she sees them. “It’s like she can sense when someone really enjoys petting a dog,” says Cindy. Her whole body is wiggling and sometimes she flops over for a belly rub. She can also tell when someone just needs a calm dog to pet and talk to. Cindy has done obedience training with Honey and has taught her some tricks. When a group is gathered in a large room, they will do a little show for the residents. They love to see Honey roll over, jump, shake and play dead . They also will do an obedience routine to show what Honey can do. “The residents love it and they will clap after every trick”. There are times that are hard when someone is failing. Cindy has been able to offer prayer for those who are hurting. “I want them to know they are not alone and that God cares about them”, says Cindy. “Many people have some religious background and are happy to have someone pray for them”. Because I just returned from a trip to Israel, I am compelled to share the journey, but not as a travelogue, which could be watched on TV, but as an earthquake about to happen, as it did me. My story started several years ago when my sister Judi, who lives in Ft. Worth TX and has been to Israel 12 times, started “encouraging” me to go to Israel with her on the next tour. Frankly, I wasn’t very interested! Deserts, camels, strange foods, etc., didn’t really entice me. Besides that, I had all the excuses from being too busy, no one to keep my real estate business functioning, too expensive, too dangerous, too hot or too cold, parents too old and dying, gone too long and two dogs to care for. Still she persisted (nagged): “It will change your life, you will never understand until you go, your Christian perspective can’t expand, it will be fun, shopping is great (our favorite pastime) and finally, I’ll pay your way!” Now she had my attention! OK, I was hooked and all excuses crumbled: Trip fees paid, 1st class/business class airline reservations, Admiral’s Club privileges, (I didn’t even know what that meant!) However, she stopped at subsidizing my shopping spree, but I was “in.” That monumental trip was last June, 2011, and for 2 ½ weeks I was shocked,

amazed, astounded, and had blinders lifted as I toured the country, met the people, experience the food (challenging), was baptized in the Jordan River, walked the same land of the prophets, disciples and Jesus. I walked through the Jerusalem gates, prayed at the Wailing Wall, walked in the Garden of Gethsemane, sat on the Mt. of Olives, floated in the Dead Sea, and took a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Oh, and we climbed a zillion hills. In fact, I’m convinced that everything is uphill in Israel. The word “tel,” like Tel Aviv means “hill.” When you live in Yuba City, there are no hills to climb, so my mushy glutes got a much needed workout. Everyday was an adventure with a learning curve. The Jewish people are thin and fit, and I didn’t see an NS Fitness or Yuba City Racquet Club anywhere. The people walk everywhere; they primarily eat fruits, vegetables, chicken and fish, with lots of curry, turmeric and other spices. Forget bacon with your eggs. Living in Israel is expensive and most people live in apartments, with no built in appliances, closets or cabinets, with large families. A home with 1100 Sq. Ft. is considered large and to purchase a condo of that size is about 1.6M shekels or $421,000. CONT. ON PG 13 - SISTER

COMMUNITY Stepping Up For Jesus March Planned For Olivehurst Christian churches in Olivehurst will join together on Saturday morning, June 9th, at 9:30 a.m. for a 2-1/2 mile walk through the town for one purpose – to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and to declare His Lordship over the community. The route will begin at the end of Riverside Drive near Riverside Restoration Center, turn onto Alicia Avenue and continue to Pasado Road, where it will turn left past Christ Is Risen Ministries, then continue on Pasado until it turns into Erle Road. The walkers will then cross Erle Road at Chestnut Street, continue past Feather River Baptist Church and the Church of Christ, ending at Lighthouse Christian Center. Organizer Sandi Juri, a member of Lighthouse, reports that she was tired of seeing false gods worshipped in various events throughout the area and that, in prayer, she saw people walking through the community lifting up the Name of Jesus Christ. It reminded her of the days when marches for Jesus were held in communities all over the nation. “The Lord even gave me the date and the name of the event,” says Sandi. “He told me to look at the Jewish calendar and pointed me to June 9th. I looked up the name of the Torah reading for that date. The Hebrew word was Behaalotecha, which means ‘when you step up’. Thus, the event will

be called Stepping Up for Jesus.” Christians from all over the Yuba-Sutter region are invited to join in the event. People can walk the whole 2-1/2 miles, or just a portion of it. Shuttles will be provided at the end of the walk to take people back to the starting point if they are unable to make the return trip. The main thing is that those who are part of the Christian community acknowledge their love for and their dependence upon their Savior, Jesus Christ. It is an opportunity for the Church to show the unsaved that serving Jesus is a joy and a privilege. While researching the church in Olivehurst, Sandi was amazed to find that there were twenty Christian fellowships in that town. She stated that she doesn’t know if there may be more, or if the ones she found are all active, but just the fact that she was able to identify that many in such a small community was surprising. According to Psalms 133, when the brethren dwell together in unity, the Lord commands a blessing. The community of Olivehurst desires the Lord’s blessing, but more than that, the Christian community desires to bless the Lord!

Ezekiel’s Prophecies to Israel Parallel What Has Happened To The United States By Wm. G. “Bill” Eberley

“The National Day of Prayer”, May 3, 2012, is significant for 2 reasons: First, God deserves to be honored by Christians and Americans. Second, one day a year does not honor God! Ezekiel told Israelites they did not follow God. Liars misled the people, some priests, some prophets; some pagans. Ezekiel 13:3, “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing.” (NKJV) 13:9, “My hand will be against the prophets who envision futility and who divine lies: ..” 16:20 “Moreover you took your sons and your daughters, whom you bore to Me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured….” Since before July 4, 1776, liars have used “science” to pollute the truths of God. 2 The. 2:3 & 2 Tim.3: 2-7 tells Christians to use the gift of discerning of spirits, (1 Cor. 12:9), to avoid lies that try to line up God’s word with “science”. Why aren’t Christians using the gift? The world pollutes and hides truth. Without knowing truth lie cannot be recognized! Non-believers fall prey to such evil not knowing any better. But why do Christians? Because they don’t know what they believe or why they believe it! “…isms” bandied about are accepted as truth. Idolatry…honoring false gods… serves only one purpose…giving permission to commit sins people want to commit. All idolatry involves the same satanic

principles….pride, arrogance, rebellion. “We Americans” (Christians and nonChristians) acquiesced to genocide of 56 million United States citizens calling abortion a “woman’s right”! Californians changed the Penal Code (#187) authorizing abortion! “Self-righteousness” proclaims genocide in Rwanda, Kosovo, Nigeria, Sudan, and tolerates expressed genocidal intent by “Islam” to “exterminate Israel from the face of the earth”. Arrogant presumption tries to re-define sin. Only God defines sin! Ezekiel 16:30 “How degenerate is your heart! says the Lord God.” (Not a question but a statement!) Eze.14:13, “Son of man, when a land sins against me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it:”…Another eternal truth of God’s word. It applies to any land, and that includes the United States! Ezekiel told the Israelites their problem and the solution! If we Christians aren’t praying daily for our country, who will? If we Christians will not pray without ceasing, (1 The. 5:17, not once a year) who will? If we don’t show others how to pray and to Whom, who will? If we aren’t living God’s word, just lecturing it, we are Pharisees! Invite others to pray on the National Day of Prayer and every day as Jesus taught ….”give us this day, our daily bread” (Mat. 6:11). Invite them to your churches to pray more. Then 2 Chr. 7:14 will be the blessing for the United States…“if My People who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Lord Jesus, lead us in showing others how to pray. Amen.

CONT. FROM PG. 11 We complain about everything here, but our view is sooo narrow. Israelis have a 10-50% income tax, which is necessary to support the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) and all the Jews who continue to return to their homeland. The term is “aliyah” or going home, and I only heard it used in terms of Jews moving to Eratz Israel, not non-Jews. It is said that if you make aliyah, the government will provide a place to stay and subsidize food, etc., as needed. We visited an Ethiopian-Israeli pre-school -K. Parents must also enroll in classes to learn the language, called Bringing Parents Along. What a concept. Everyone learns together so that the children don’t become more knowledgeable than the parents, which sets the family up for disrespect. Everyone works doing something constructive. What a thought! As Christians, our goal is to make aliyah to Heaven; but in the mean time, there is much to learn about our faith by traveling to Israel ASAP. I promise your life will change for the better. Until next month, Shalom! May your life be whole, complete, unbroken in any way. May peace and prosperity be yours through the blessing of God. We are grafted on the Jewish vine through Jesus Christ. Don’t ever forget it or take the

blessings for granted.

I’ve been a little hesitant to write back to back articles on Islam for fear of being labeled an Islamaphobe. But by definition, my anxiety does not exceed that which is normal and my fears are indeed based on reality. So what the heck, here goes. Much has been said and written about the dawning of the “Arab Spring.” This is the populous and idealistic movement that has been overthrowing tyrannical dictators. But I am concerned that this Arab Spring is quickly fading into an Islamic Winter. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m no fan of dictators and tyrants, but we have to be careful what we wish for and attuned to the consequences of what we do and to whom we align ourselves. In Egypt, for example, the toppling of the Murbarak regime, although a good thing, left a power vacuum that is quickly being filled by the only group well enough organized and financed to do so… The Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood has already gained control of Egypt’s Parliament and is actively seeking the presidency. In a desperate attempt to quell an imminent Islamic take over, the Egyptian Election Committee disqualified three Islamic candidates from the upcoming presidential election. This infuriated the Brotherhood and I fear, has only postponed the inevitable. Why am I so concerned about what is happening in Egypt? Well, Egypt is the proverbial tip of the Islamic iceberg.

Egypt very likely will become another Islamic theocracy like Iran. But that’s not the end of it. Guess who’s getting all their ducks in a row in Libya and Syria? You got it, The Brotherhood. And guess who’s been inadvertently helping them… we have. You’re probably asking yourself; “What’s the big deal, this is all happening in the Middle East, right? Not so much. The Brotherhood is active in Europe, Africa, Asia and right here in the good old U.S. of A. More and more countries are falling under the influence of Islam and Sharia Law. Muslim clerics make no bones about Islam’s drive for world dominance, and make no secret of their desire to create a worldwide Islamic caliphate governed by Sharia Law. For the life of me I don’t understand why all of this seems to be flying under our radar. Why isn’t there a little more concern expressed in the media or by our government officials? You know, all those staunch guardians of separation of church and state. I mean come on guys this is the real reason behind the religion clause of the First Amendment. This is serious business! Wake up! It’s time to start taking what radical Islam is saying seriously. The perceived Muslim moderate majority appears unable or unwilling to stand against their radical brethren. We must not be so naive as to think our freedom will protect us… they very well may use our freedom to enslave us.
