SAVING US A Call to Action for Restoring Biblical Values
by Seth Halpern Editor How far down can our nation go? How much can its citizens take? The sad reality is that without a “cure” we will continue the downward spiral. Without an answer our nation will find itself in moral and quite possibly physical captivity in the days ahead. Pointing fingers has never been the answer. This is not a fight among right and left, among liberal and conservative, among political parties. This is a fight for “One nation under God”. Our answer is not in the GOP; it is in GOD! The mainstream media is trying to heal our moral disease with the wrong medicine. Even the conservative commentators are usually seeing this as a fight among men. Ultimately, it is not. It is a fight among principalities and powers in heavenly places. However, that does not mean that we are to sit back and “let God take care of business”. That’s not what our founding fathers did to usher the blessing of God on our nation. They didn’t sit around watching “Real Housewives of Valley Forge”. They where actively working to secure their land. We may not need to secure it in the same way. We may not have British forces trying to keep us under their rule. Yet, we do need to “secure” our land from those who wish to take it from us in different ways. The Gay Agenda is successfully deployed in our schools and legislation to steal our families. Radical Islamists have killed our people and continue to relish in
future threats to do more harm. Atheists and anti-Christian groups “handcuff” us with our own laws and force our values, traditions and beliefs into a vulnerable position of bondage. Still, others take breath from babies and those who can’t defend themselves. When will we say “enough”? When will we stop pointing the finger outward, while crying “victim” and go back to sleep? We are ready for a change. Will it come from the next election a year from now? Not likely. The current president was considered by many the new messiah. But his approval ratings show that we should not expect him to leave an empty tomb. Who will make US work again? Who will be that hero to bring us back to the greatness of our mighty nation stirring

us to sing “America The Beautiful”? I know who it is. It’s me. Surprised? Don’t be. Because even more surprising is that this hero is “You” too. We have been trying to “fix” our nation by saying what the leadership is doing wrong. When has that ever worked? It doesn’t work in business. It certainly doesn’t work in the church. Rather than looking to fix US from the top down, let’s change the plan and work
from the bottom up. That means that the change begins with US not U.S.! When you or I make a commitment to live by the biblical principles that our founding fathers (for the most part) lived by, then we will change individually. When we change individually, it impacts our family. When our families change, it impacts our community…and so on. The Ambassador
coupon pg. 8 and the Christian Business Alliance have joined forces to celebrate the power given us to correct the problem. That power is Jesus Christ. On Friday, November 4th, we will be meeting at Glad Tidings Church for a time of celebration and challenge. The Ambassador Ministry’s objective is to “Encourage, Inform, Challenge, and Connect the local Body of Christ” This is what we will do. It will be a time of Encouraging one another through reminding us of what made our nation great. It will inform you of how and why it has fallen. It will challenge you to consider your role in being part of the solution, and finally it will connect you with community organizations and resources to help you act on your commitment. We believe that it is that final step that will bring a great
deal of personal enrichment and satisfaction as well as the fruit of transformation in our community. Brad Dacus from the Pacific Justice Institute and Ken Devore from the NFIB will be our keynote speakers. We hope you will strongly consider joining us for this important time for our community. For ticket information, please see the ad on the back page. (Read Dave Kugelman’s article on page 12 for additional information)

THE AMBASSADOR The Ambassador is a free, monthly publication promoting unity and revival among the local Yuba-Sutter area Bible-believing churches. The Ambassador has a circulation of 6,000 and is distributed in local churches and businesses in the community. The purpose of The Ambassador is to pursue the great commission of Christ by making disciples and to encourage, inform, challenge and connect the local body of Christ. We believe in the inspiration and authority of the Bible as the written word of God. We believe that God exists as One, in three distinct persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that the atoning work of Christ (His death) on the cross and His resurrection is the ONLY means of salvation and the only way to Eternal Life in Heaven. We welcome editorial content from anyone wishing to promote the mission of The Ambassador. Get Wise
Love & Ladders
by Paula McBride
by Elisabeth Quick
"Give me my hat," screamed the pint-sized adolescent. A mob of towering giants was playing keep-away with the kid's hat. He tried without success to catch the treasure that represented several weeks of his allowance. Moments later, a kid raced by, closely followed by another who had two fistfuls of grass clutched in his hands. Clearly, he was planning to throw the grass at his victim. Interestingly, both these events took place less than twenty feet from a student-painted sign that read "Stop Bullying." Imagine one of those bullies was the son of King Solomon. Around the dinner table, Solomon asked, "How was your day at school, Son?" "I blew it today, Dad. I was fooling around and ended up getting in trouble for taunting a kid with his hat. Why is it so hard to remember all you are teaching me?" "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, Son, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" (Prov. 9:10), Solomon may have answered. "As you understand how the Holy One views your classmate, you will make a wiser decision about how to treat him next time." Solomon, gifted by God as the wisest man who ever lived, poured out his heart in the books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. He knew that wisdom is not a natural instinct in humankind. It has to be taught. Through life-long investigation, he learned there was no true satisfaction apart from learning, reverencing and submitting to the laws of God. Ironically, in all of life there are laws we submit to without thought of
the Creator who is behind them. I'd never jump off the roof of my house because I submit to the law of gravity. I stop at stop signs and pay taxes because I respect the laws of the nation. I listen to my doctor's advice because I respect his knowledge of how my body works. Why then, is it so hard to submit to and reverence God? Is it because He is invisible, or are we used to going our own way? Perhaps all we've learned is the wisdom of the world which, according to Scripture, is foolishness. If we examine the regrets we have in this life, we will probably find a time we said no to God and His ways. The wisdom that comes from the knowledge of God helps us act and speak in ways that will bring about good in our lives. It shows us how to avoid problems and teaches us how to handle them when they arise. It's more than simple intelligence. Solomon calls ants, rock badgers, locusts, and lizards wise, not because they have great intelligence, but because they know how to navigate life skillfully. Their wisdom is instinctive; we need to be taught. So let's get into the book of Proverbs and learn what God has to say about every issue imaginable and submit to His view on those topics. Then we will understand His heart and mind and the value of the commands. But watch out! As you get wisdom, your face may change. Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 8:1, "How wonderful to be wise, to analyze and interpret things. Wisdom light up a person's face, softening its harshness." Let wisdom be your lifelong facelift!

The greatest commandment is Love. We are called to be Love to the world around us. The Love we know as Christians is the truth that separates us from other religions. Unfortunately there are days we don’t feel very loving. On such a day I was walking through the parking lot and saw a pair of scary looking people coming in my direction. I really didn’t want to have to talk to them, so naturally I pulled out my phone and began to act like I was deep in text conversation. Imagine my surprise when I walked straight into a ladder with my face. Someone had it hanging out of their truck, conveniently right level with my forehead. So WHACK! I walk into it at a decent speed, since I was running late for Spanish, and the sound echoes through the parking lot. My thoughts went as follows; “OWWW, WHAT ON EARTH… BUT WHY?? Oh I hope no one noticed… AM I BLEED-“ “Are you OK?? Oh honey, ouch! Let me see.” Yes. The scary couple who I was trying to avoid having to make even parking lot conversation (which consists of a smile and a nod at most) was concerned and coming to my rescue. “Am…Am…Am I bleeding??” I asked as I removed my hand from my smarting forehead. “No, you’re good.” The scruffy lady assured me. “Do you need anything,
hun?” her daunting friend asked. By now I’m feeling lower than an ant, ‘A helmet and a new attitude’ I thought as I thanked them and stumbled off to class. I had a headache, but I learned a lesson that day; Look up and stay alert in parking lots. No, I’m kidding. I should have known better, as kids my granddad used to drill my sisters and me on parking lot safety. The real lesson here is that God’s people shouldn’t be afraid of, or worse feel superior than anyone. How can I show Christ’s love with my nose buried in my phone? It isn’t cute and it’s not OK to have days like that. I am called to be Love, so I need to step up and be that Love. I can’t stand there on my soap box giving my testimony of how this Great God I love came in and changed my heart and my life, and then turn around and ignore the opportunity to even just smile at someone who was Divinely placed in my path. How else will the hurting and lost come to know the Awesome God we serve if we the body don’t start to move? There isn’t much else to it. (But on a side note: Seriously people, who has a ladder just sticking out of their truck like that in a college parking lot?? If you have a ladder maliciously hanging out at face level, you should put something eye-catching on it for safety; like a red flag or road flares or a disco ball. Something.)

Where’s The Fire?
Testimonies of God’s Grace
by Bob Schultz “When the fire inside of you is hotter than the fire around you, you do not need to be afraid.” This quote came from a Malaysian underground Christian pastor who had converted from Islam. Around the world church buildings, Christian homes, Bibles and, yes, Christians themselves are being destroyed by fire. The enemy of our Lord Jesus Christ has come only to steal, to kill and destroy. Christ has come that we may have life and that more abundantly. Throughout the Bible, God reveals His presence through fire (Moses' burning bush Exodus 3:2, Mount Sinai Exodus 19:18, Christ's return II Thessalonians 2:7,8, the coming of the Holy Spirit to dwell in believers in Jesus Christ Acts 2). As blood-bought, born-again believers we have God's Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ, living in us. What the Malaysian pastor was referring to was the fact that we carry within us the life-changing fire of the Gospel that brings about eternal change in the midst of an otherwise hopeless world. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” John 14:6. In John 8:36 He said, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” What a marvelous truth: that we have been delivered from the power, the guilt and punishment of sin! Years or decades ago God ignited a fire within us—a love for Him, a love for our fellow man, a
desire to tell the Good News to everyone. But what has happened to that fire? Have I, have we, over time allowed that fire to die down due to our complacency, comfort, materialism, “playing church”, grieving or quenching the Holy Spirit? Do we find ourselves trying to manufacture joy in our lives, putting on a “spiritual facade” or “turning the crank” on an institutional religious experience? I'm persuaded that God's Word is true and He is faithful. In Isaiah 42:3 we're told “a bruised reed He will not break, and a smoking flax He will not quench.” Has our fire died down to a smoking flax? He is willing and able to fan new fire into us. “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” I John 1:9. Let's ask Him today to purge out the dross in our lives by His indwelling Holy Spirit. Allow the fire to be rekindled within us so that we may take the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ alone to the dying world around us—family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and others. We are not in any semblance of persecution as are our brothers and sisters around the world. Wouldn't now be the time to allow our Lord to “build us up in the most holy faith” so that when and if that time comes, “The fire inside of us is hotter than the fire outside of us, and we need not be afraid”?
Mario Molina Valdez
At the age of 11 I totally rebelled against my father. I started smoking pot and for the next several years I purposely failed in school. In middle school I did no work whatsoever, which resulted in my expulsion from Hemet High School 5 years later. From then on I got expelled from nearly every school in the surrounding cities. At 14 I was labeled a cocaine addict. Depression took hold of me, it gripped me and wouldn’t let go! At 16 I dropped out of school and entered the drug world in an advanced way. During this period of my life, I began to actively join the wrong crowds of people. Gangs were all that I knew. Unrighteous relationships came into place and at 18 I was
already a meth addict. Having a full time job only fueled my addiction. I was in a desperate hole of addiction and I saw no way out! Depressed, angry and heartbroken I was compelled to call the Feather River Men’s Center. It’s now 11 months later, almost a year, and God has transformed my life! He renewed my life and I now rejoice due to the salvation I have with Jesus! I Praise you Lord for I am fearfully and wonderfully made! How wonderful are Your works. RESOURCES Helping Friends Who Receive The Call We All Dread by Susan Verstraete It's happened to all of us. We get a call or an email letting us know that someone we love has a family member in the hospital in serious condition, and we want to help. Our hearts immediately turn to prayer, but along with that, we long to find tangible ways to help our friends bear their burden (Gal.6:2). Here are some suggestions to get us started. Be there. Our natural inclination is to be afraid of intruding at a difficult time, but just showing up at the hospital to sit for a few minutes with a friend in the waiting room will remind the family they aren't alone. Don't worry about what to say. Just ask a few questions and let them do the talking. Knowing that there are friends concerned enough to show up and to pray for a loved one (whom they might not even know) gives great comfort. Be specific. Instead of a well-intentioned comment like "if there's anything I can do. . ." offer a specific service, no matter how small. You might suggest taking their turn in the nursery at church or helping out at home by mowing a lawn, collecting mail, watering plants or babysitting. Or, you might prefer to be a liaison between the family and a group of friends (like a Sunday School class or home group), sending out email updates or making phone calls to pass along information. At the hospital, you might ask if there's a specific time the family would like for you to sit with the patient when they won't be available to do so. If you can't think of a specific way to help, ask your friend about their to-do list and see if you can help with one of those tasks. Be creative. Think of simple things the family might need. You might provide a small bag with items like a notepad, pens, a crossword puzzle book, a magazine, wet wipes, and mints. Or perhaps you could bring bottled water and healthy snacks (fruit, granola bars) for their vigil in the waiting room. Even the most seasoned believer may have run out of the house without a Bible when they received the call that their loved one was ill. Consider providing an inexpensive one for

the family to use and perhaps leave in the waiting room when the crisis is over. Meals at home are often appreciated. For something different, consider providing a deli tray so that when family members dash home for a quick shower or change of clothes, they can also grab a quick sandwich. Be comforting. Deep and lasting comfort in trials comes from Scripture, and especially from what is revealed there about the character of God. You'll have favorite verses to share, but you might also consider Hebrews 4:15 (Jesus sympathizes with us), Psalm 56:8 (God is aware of our suffering), Isaiah 41:10 and Psalm 23:4 (we have nothing to fear when God is with us), and Romans 8:35 (suffering does not separate us from the love of God). Try to avoid quoting Scriptures rapid-fire at the family. Instead, let a Scripture verse come up naturally in your conversation or write out two or three applicable verses so the family can review them later. Be dedicated. While ministering to the family at the onset of a crisis is invaluable, so is continued contact as days and weeks pass by. Even if you didn't get in touch with the family initially, be assured that calling later, sending cards or visiting will be welcome as recovery continues. You may consider sending a card to the patient every week, or emails letting the family know that you are continuing to pray for their loved one. Ask regularly for specific prayer requests, and rejoice with the family when God grants them. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

A Peek At My Bookshelf
Recommended Reading by Deena Peterson “The First Gardener" by Denise Hildreth Jones I've been a huge fan of Denise Hildreth Jones' books since she released "Savannah From Savannah". For me, she is the queen of all things Southern. With her newest novel, she's not only added another jewel to that crown...she's written the novel, in my humble opinion, she was born to write. Jeremiah Williams has been caring for the lawns and garden at the governor's mansion for decades, but he always takes great care to point the way to "The First Gardener" in all he does. Governor Gray London currently resides in the Tennessee governor's mansion, along with his wife Mackenzie and his daughter Madison. Jeremiah has taken as shine to this precious family, and when they are rocked to their very core by unthinkable tragedy, he's right there with them, holding them up and caring for his precious Mackenzie the only way he knows how. This story is packed with emotion. The characters literally leap off the pages and into your heart. Maddie is adorable and precocious and filled with energy and life. Her best friend Oliver is a hoot as he attempts to impress the governor's family upon every visit with his high intelligence. But it's Eugenia's pack of gal pals that take the character cake! Mackenzie's momma is a character unto herself...then there is prim-nproper Sandra, ruffled up to her wrinkled neck and holding onto Southern manners till they squeal. Berlyn needs some of Sandra's ruffles to keep her 'girls' covered up... with her loud and proud prints, you can just see her standing before you in all of her flowered glory. And then we have Dimples... that precious cock-eyed saint who says the strangest things and has to look sideways at you to get a clear glimpse. Though oddest of the four,

she is most adorable and ends up spouting wisdom that you will most likely take to your grave. Oh, if only every state in the union had a family such as this living in the mansion and governing the state! Gray is true to his convictions, yet not at all perfect. Mackenzie is the best volunteer you'll find, yet even she is flawed nearly fatally. And I love, love, LOVE that Denise did not end with a 'convenient' ending, although my hurting heart would have loved one. No, Denise Hildreth Jones stays true to life in this powerful novel, and I adore her for it. Break out the tissues as you crack the cover...it's going to be an emotional ride! My thanks to Denise and her publisher, Tyndale, for my copy. I'm giving "The First Gardener" the Golden Bookmark for Writing Excellence and Memorable Characters, and voting it "Best Contemporary Fiction of 2011". Don't miss any of Denise's books, but especially make a point to pick up "The First Gardener". Happy Reading! Deena Peterson An Independent Reviewer Totally Dependent Upon Jesus! Host A Bible Study, Get A Fine! Becky Yeh - OneNewsNow California Correspondent A Christian attorney finds it outrageous that a California city has forced a home Bible study group to stop meeting until they obtain a permit. San Juan Capistrano homeowners Chuck and Stephanie Fromm (editor’s note: Chuck is the brother of Bob Fromm, local pastor of North Valley Calvary Chapel in Yuba City) were fined $300 for holding a Bible study in their own home and were told by officials that ongoing gatherings of three or more people require a conditional use permit. The Fromms were warned that they would be fined $500 per meeting if they continued to hold the Bible studies. The family's subsequent appeal to the city of San Juan Capistrano was rejected, and Brad Dacus' Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) is taking up the case. "It's so ironic that a city like San Juan Capistrano, with the famous mission it has that was founded upon faith and for the purpose of faith, would be so overtly hostile and intolerant to-
wards people wishing to simply meet in their homes and to pray and study the Bible together," Dacus laments. The Bible study group, which met on Sunday mornings, did not generate any disturbance in the area, and the family's neighbors have written letters to relay their support for the Bible study. "We believe, in the end, we will prevail, because courts seem to be somewhat amiable and tolerant when it comes to people and what they do in their own home, especially when it comes to issues of religious observance or religious gatherings," the PJI president. "We not only have the First Amendment of the Constitution on our side, but we also have the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000, which we at the Pacific Justice Institute have used effectively on many, many cases." Meanwhile, the city of San Juan Capistrano maintains that the Bible study is not allowed without a permit because it constitutes a "church.
RESOURCES Sowing The Seed Recklessly by Gregory Koukl - Stand To Reason - Str.org While flying a little commuter jet to northern California, I had no way of knowing someone was reading over my shoulder. I quickly found my seat on the plane and buried my nose in a book. “What are you reading?” A lady’s voice floated timidly over the top of the seat. I chatted with her a few moments about the Lord, wrote out the title on the back of my business card, wished her a pleasant trip and plunged back into my study. Three weeks later she showed up at the church bookstore, titles in hand. Within a month she’d become a Christian. In New Testament times, farmers didn’t sow in neat rows. Instead, they pitched handfuls of seed among the furrows, scattering it recklessly in the breeze. Some seeds flourished, some failed; it was the ground that made the difference. Many times I’d talk with folks about
the Lord at church, in a restaurant or on the tennis court. They’d nod with appreciation, but depart unchanged. Months later I’d find out it was seed carried by the wind of the Spirit, as it were, to an unnoticed bystander that bore the fruit. The Parable of the Sower has taught me not to prejudge my audience. Instead, like the sower of old, I scatter my seed, letting it fall where it will. I never know who will be listening in or reading over my shoulder. I never know what small, seemingly insignificant seed will bear fruit to eternal life. ©1999 Gregory Koukl. Reproduction permitted for non-commercial use only. Saving Us = Helping Us by Dave Kugelman
By now I am hoping that you are aware of an upcoming event called “Saving Us.” I wrote about it last month and Seth featured it on the front page of this month’s issue. (If you are not familiar with the event, take a moment to read his front page article and then come back and finish reading this one). The CBA generates most of its revenue from annual membership dues. (Thank you to those who continue to support the CBA through your generous donation). The monies generated help to manage our website, pay for monthly exposure in the Ambassador and to sponsor our Annual Faith Night at the Gold Sox which is $1,500. In addition, we occasionally bring out

of town speakers to our National Day of Prayer event which is an added expense as well. Though “Saving Us” is slated to be a powerful evening, it is also intended to be a fundraiser to help CBA with future expenses as we roll into 2012. It is our hope to sell 400 tickets to this event. Please consider coordinating a table for this very special event. In addition to great speakers, we guarantee a great meal. For more details or to help sell tickets please contact me at 632-9292. Mock Around The Clock
AS WE SEE IT
By Jon Skillman
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” Galatians 6:7 The other morning, while reading our local paper, I came across a comic strip in which a young girl was in the process of establishing her own religion and her first commandment was: “Thou shalt eat donuts!” Ha-ha, that’s pretty funny and a commandment I can really sink my teeth into. But a little further down her list was the commandment: “Thou shalt not confuse the scriptures with the facts!” Ha-… Hey, wait a minute… I think I sense a mock here. A mock thinly veiled as an anti-Christian zinger. Is it just me, or has there been a marked increase in the number of anti-Christian zingers flying out of the media of late? Why it’s almost like there’s a concerted effort to cast Christians in an unfavorable light. Oh Jon, here you go again… it’s just a harmless little comic strip for crying out loud … Lighten up! So, lightly I turned my attention to the letters to the editor where another anti-Christian zinger tried desperately to lift itself free of the hate that had spawned it, but it lacked the credibility to cause me harm. Then…ZING… another zinger on the Op-Ed page struck me right in the faith. A political cartoon depicting republican presidential candidate, Rick Perry,
contained a small box at the bottom where a likeness of Jesus gave a smiling thumbs up to the caption… “The new improved Jesus, 100% less compassion”. Now I’m no expert on mockery, but that sure sounds like a serious mock to me. I don’t know much about Rick Perry’s politics, but I do know he is a Christian and he’s not ashamed to say so. He also endorses the same Christian values that made this nation the greatest the world has ever known. Yet Mr. Perry’s mere mention of Christian values throws the secular progressives into an absolute conniption fit… And his talk of morality puts their noses in a snit (I think he might have my vote already). That evening, anti-Christian zingers were zipping out of my TV faster than bleeps from Comedy Central. The “intellectual elite were falling all over themselves in a Christian mock fest, while at the same time proving my long held theory that; arrogance breeds ignorance. Now as annoying as these zingers, and those who zing them are, I can’t hate them. How ironic it is that they chose to mock the very One who blessed them with the very intellect with which they mock. And how sad it is that if they don’t come to see the light, they will be without hope and they are destined to reap what they have sown.

Write or Wrong By Seth Halpern
This month I have had a few experiences with people who have views that are different from mine. Since I started The Ambassador, I have been striving to unite believers in their essential common beliefs (salvation by grace alone through faith, the virgin birth, bodily resurrection, trinity, Jesus both God and man, the Bible’s authority). In many other issues, I believe there is room for discussion and difference of opinion/priority. This includes communion, baptism, spiritual gifts, holiness, etc. Since The Ambassador seeks to unite through encouraging, informing, challenging and connecting, we do not seek to offer teaching on doctrinal or denominational beliefs. You can usually get that in church or in other books. In the past few weeks, I have had a phone call and a face to face confrontation regarding my stand on a few issues. One person, who identified himself as a non-reader/non-supporter was disappointed that we ran a full page ad for the Lord of the Rings in Concert, stating that we shouldn’t be encouraging people to view “these kinds of things”. Interestingly, J.R.R. Tolkien (the author) was a devout Christian and most people see the Christian symbolism in his work, much like his friend C.S. Lewis and the Narnia series. Next, I had a “discussion” with an individual who has a strong emphasis on baptism for new believers. Although I told him that I believe it is an important act of
Seth Halpern - Editor obedience, my passion for it was less than his and so I was told that I was not obeying Christ and was being deceived. In both cases, I felt for a moment that I was doing something wrong because I didn’t please my reader (or “non-reader” as the case may be). While I respect the opinions of both of these individuals, is it alright to differ and remain “friends and brothers”? What line is it in your life that someone needs to cross to become an “enemy”. Can we not sincerely pray for one another if we think they are being misled or doing wrong. The Bible does tell us to speak to the brother who is in sin to win him back. It also says “speak the Truth in Love”. The Ambassador will continue to print the truth and at times our readers might have a different opinion on something, does that mean that all should be thrown out with the proverbial “bath water”? The Ambassador is distributed in more than 70 churches of various denominations. I know for a fact that these churches do not agree on all points. In fact, I’ll bet that you wouldn’t agree with everything that people in your own church believe.” Oh, I’d better scratch that, someone’s probably going to call and tell me not to gamble!
