The Factory “The Factory” is a twin tower mid-rise landmark building located at the central transportation hub of Texas A&M University. The towers strive to make a statement of energy production and innovative infrastructure as they make a gesture to the axial entrance of campus. The existing site holds one of the campus’ power plants and the antique military sciences building. To contrast with the customary campus style that exists, this intervention reformulates the vision of energy with a transparent structure and visual energy producing system. The existing power plant poses a challenge for new structure intervention because of its existing pipework underground. The new structure aims to disrupt the ground minimally as the skin of the building, made of an algae tube system, aims to create a landmark and a new vision for the campus.

Object Relations This is a study of the evolution of design in objects and the relationships they have to each other. Two types of objects were taken through multiple phases of manipulation in drawing, modeling and software to create a new type of architecture. The objects were finally imagined as buildings that related to each other in concept and image much like a baroque painting.
