DESIGNER'S NOTE You know that split moment when you meet the person you're meant to spend the rest of your life with? Or the minute your eyes meet with the most perfect throw pillow? I wake up every day and get the opportunity to work with couples like you, feeling that absolute same delight. Since 2011 when Wrennwood Design first debuted, I've managed to fall head over heels with playing such an integral role in one of the biggest days of people's lives. My name is Amberly and I live for the pretty. I live in Atlanta with my husband, Landon, my sweet little girls, Madison and Annalise and Tyson, our loveable black lab! I'm also a purveyor of sweetness, a connoisseur of beautiful blooms and a believer that every event deserves to be distinctive and on a level of its own. From intimate ceremony celebrations set under a canopy of whimsical paper flowers, to dance parties in charismatic old barns, I work endlessly to marry together the playful and the pretty so that you can focus on marrying your best friend. I'm game for a healthy dose of glitter, a touch of delicate lace and copious amounts of timelessness. I squeal for a successfully executed surprise and give really awesome hugs, too. Weddings don't need to be stuffy or stressful, and it's my job to make sure we steer clear of both. I can't wait to meet you!

PHILOSPHY

OUR APPROACH TO LIFE AND BUSINESS IS SIMPLE. We show up at the opening of an envelope. We've never met a happy hour we didn't love. We RSVP "yes." We are the first to arrive at the venue and the last ones to leave the dance floor. If there is a celebration of any size, we'll be there with bells on. Selfie or it didn't happen. There is no replacement for genuine human connection and face time with those you love. These are the days that make living good. We want to share our spirit with you.

OUR MISSION IS TO GET TO THE CORE OF WHO YOU ARE. From your sense of style, interests, and personality – we want to cultivate a unique experience full of details that are reflective of your aesthetic and vision. The drive behind our creative process is our focus and strong sense of presence: we work hard to listen to your needs and desires, develop a plan of action for achieving your goals, counsel you in the best practices and creative solutions along the way, and deliver an exceptional experience for you and your guests with a personal attention to detail unlike any other. Our seasoned team of experts and collaborative spirit with our creative partners sets us apart and establishes Sapphire Events as a leading premier event planning and design firm.

TIME TO CELEBRATE If you’re like me, you love perusing the latest art and decorating books and magazines. I’ve always had a passion for art and good design and I believe that we should surround ourselves with beauty to keep feeling inspired and refreshed. In my career, I’ve brought this philosophy to every event and wedding I’ve had the pleasure of designing. I approach each party as an artist and I aim to create a beautiful world that reflects my client’s personal style.

I am thankful to all of the incredible clients who have allowed me to be part of their beautiful weddings and fantastic parties over the years. Their trust means the world to me and I am deeply honored. I welcome any questions you might have about our company and hope that we meet to plan your unique celebration.

WRENNWOOD DESIGN | PAGE 9

I like to encourage couples to think of their wedding as the largest dinner party they’ve ever thrown. Why? Because your wedding should fit in with the rest of your taste and lifestyle, not be the exception. You want to treat your guests as if you’re welcoming them into your own home. Your wedding should look and feel like it’s yours and nobody else’s. Everything, from the invitations to the ceremony and the space itself, should be infused with personalized details that create an event unique to you.

My favorite part of designing and event planning is collaborating with my clients. I absolutely love getting to know them: I ask about what they like, what they read, what they wear, as well as what their favorite flowers, colors, and places to travel are, and even which restaurants they love. In fact, many of my past clients are amongst my closest friends today! I also talk with them about whether they prefer a cleaner, more modern look, or one that’s more rustic or possibly even ornate and traditional. I urge my clients not to sway towards the latest trends, but rather to follow an approach that will make their wedding feel distinctly like “them.” Together, we hunt and gather: hunt for personal, meaningful items and gather design details that allow us to bring out the most loved elements found in these items. The key is to always keep your eyes open—you never know where you’ll spot that little something that inspires your entire event!

OUR AESTHETIC I believe there is great beauty in simplicity, that the best things in life are to be experienced and enjoyed. My design aesthetic is wild, unstructured and refined all at once. I love working with lush blossoms and trailing vines. I’m greatly inspired by nature, color and the blooms themselves. I love the variations in colors and textures that come from nature and I’ve become obsessed with bringing interesting color palettes together with unique gardeninspired blooms. I design each wedding with the season in mind, incorporating what’s available and at times foraging for branches and other ingredients around me giving a unique, from the garden feel

OUR PROCESS Over the years we have developed and tailored our design process into a fluid system that enables us to provide our expertise while allowing the couple’s personal style to shine. Unlike traditional florists where you pick out a centerpiece and they give you a price, all of our designs are custom made just for your wedding. Floral Proposal Contract and Deposit: To reserve your date with us we do require a 50% non-refundable retainer and signed contract. All dates are reserved on a first come first booked basis. Email and Phone Communication: Four weeks before the wedding a follow-up consultation can be scheduled. During the planning process, we understand things will come up and you will have to make changes to your package. Any adjustments to the proposal will be discussed. The delivery time line will be finalized. Final payment on the floral balance is due at this time.

6 tips for wedding flowers Flowers add so much to your wedding… pops of color and fragrant scents all help to set the tone of your day. Floral designer Amberly Odom offers 6 tips to consider with your wedding flowers. 1. Think outside the color box. When choosing the palette for your wedding, don’t feel compelled to have it all match. Coordinate, yes, but matching isn’t a necessity. Multicolor combinations and contrasting colors can be a pleasant alternative to a monochromatic or two-tone approach. The Perfect Palette www.theperfectpalette.com is a great resource to help you visualize different combinations.

2. Choose seasonal flowers. Many brides desire a peony wedding in November, but for peonies, you are best to stick with April and May. Global growers and worldwide shipping provide peonies throughout the year, however the cost increases significantly. There are many other flowers that are similarly affected, but rejoice because there are always flowers in season. Keep an open mind, and make your choices practically.

3. Hydrate your blooms. During pre-wedding photography keep in mind how long your bouquets are out of water. You don’t want to walk down the aisle with bouquets that have been tossed around and dehydrated for two hours prior. While you want the bouquets in your photos, consciously limit their time out of water, or perhaps the flower shots can be reserved for after the ceremony.

4. Be aware of your budget. Not everyone has had to buy flowers in quantity like they do for their wedding. This can cause quite the “sticker shock” during planning. Be sure to enter each consultation with a figure in mind so your designer knows where to begin and how far they can go. A little research on wedding costs can prevent the surprise that can come with the quote and can save you time while easing your mind.

5. Choose linens thoughtfully. Linens are an important piece of your table décor. The right choice can enhance and compliment the centerpiece, while the wrong choice can make the flowers appear washed out or dull. If colored linens are not an option, a simple change from white to off-white can make all the difference.

6. Bring in the professionals. The most well executed event has more than likely had numerous behind the scenes challenges. Vases break, layouts change or linens can be the wrong size. In such times, experienced professionals are able to respond appropriately. They have the resources to resolve potential disasters, taking upon themselves the stress that you do not need in the days leading up to your wedding.

FAQ'S How do I reserve my date? Once we send you the initial proposal and you decide to move forward, we will send you an electronic contract and a link to pay your retainer fee. Your date will not be held until both are received. How much is the retainer fee? $2500. How long is the proposal valid? The proposal/quote is valid for 3 days. Are there any other fees? Â If your wedding requires a room flip, depending on the scope of work, there is a minimum fee of $250. Lastly, if your wedding requires us to break down all decor at the end of the evening after midnight, there is an additional $200. These fees are solely based on the cost of labor and staffing that it requires to produce each event. Do you charge extra for vases? All vases currently in our warehouse are available at no additional charge. If you wish to use a different vessel, we can purchase that and charge you a reduced rental rate. Do you offer other rentals? Yes. We offer an extensive line of basic and luxury linens. We also contract outside vendors to provide tables, chairs, drapery, lighting, furniture, etc. Is there a minimum requirement? For flowers, our minimum budgets start at $3500. If your wedding date is on a holiday, the minimum is $5000. Do you give discounts? We try our best to get it right the first time. While we want to work with every potential client that comes our way, we do realize that not everyone is the right fit for us and vice versa. If your budget meets our minimum, we welcome the conversation. What if I want to do the flowers myself? Sorry, you came to the wrong place. We are hired for our expertise in the industry and specific style. Any other questions? Just ask us!

TODAY, I PROMISE YOU THIS: I WILL LAUGH WITH YOU IN TIMES OF JOY, AND COMFORT YOU IN TIMES OF SORROW. I WILL SHARE IN YOUR DREAMS AND SUPPORT YOU AS YOU STRIVE TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS. I WILL LISTEN TO YOU WITH COMPASSION AND UNDERSTANDING, AND SPEAK TO YOU WITH ENCOURAGEMENT. TOGETHER, LET US BUILD A HOME FILLED WITH LEARNING, LAUGHTER AND LIGHT, SHARED FREELY WITH ALL WHO MAY LIVE THERE. LET US BE PARTNERS, FRIENDS AND LOVERS, TODAY AND ALL OF THE DAYS THAT FOLLOW.
