Eyam Museum Opens for the 2020 Season on 21st March

We tell the story of the outbreak of the Bubonic Plague in our Peak District village, where over a third of the population died during 1665-1666.

We explain about the black rats and the fleas that carried the disease, share how the families were affected and how the village recovered afterwards.

We have two temporary exhibitions that will continue throughout 2020. The Impact of World War One on local families in Eyam, and the anniversary of the Boot and Shoemakers Strike in Eyam and Stoney Middleton that took place 101 years ago.

We are open Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays, 10:00 until 16:00 (last admission 15:30) Eyam Museum, Hawkhill Road, Eyam, S32 5QP See our website for more information: www.contact@eyam-museum.org.uk
