Tell us about The Meadows care home

We have two buildings set across from one another - Rose Court offers nursing care and Lavender Court offers residential care. Both have an amazing social community with a really homely environment.

What kind of activities do you offer day-to-day?

We like to find out what each resident’ s best-loved hobby is and incorporate that into our plan. Music is an all-round favourite which everyone gets involved with, as well as our arts and crafts sessions. We also host pet therapy, gardening, games, chair exercises and baking groups. We ’ re also karaoke fanatics and they ’ re always such a laugh!

How have you dealt with COVID-19?

Our teams have been amazing at adapting to new ways of working. All residents and staff have been offered the COVID-19 vaccine - it has been very successful and we ’ ve also installed a HEPA filter which has been proven to kill viruses and bacteria including covid-19. Can friends and family visit?

A resident can choose up to 5 designated visitors. All visits must be pre-booked. Alternatively, we have the facilities to have Zoom/Skype and WhatsApp video calls with families and friends. Please contact for more information.

The Meadows has achieved the Derbyshire Dementia Standards Award, which recognises “ person-centred” care, delivered by well-trained staff. We support loved ones to engage in activities that are meaningful to them, whether that’ s for pleasure, fun or to feel useful.
