What a busy summer term we had! We began by celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we decorated the learning environment with red, white, and blue and had a tea party to celebrate. The children loved the tea party but were a little disappointed that the Queen didn’t come! We talked about how long the Queen had been our Queen (‘a very, very long time’), where she lived (‘in a palace in London’) and looked at lots of pictures of her.
We then began our transitions to school. Teachers from the primary schools came to visit and meet our children and then our children visited their new school to have a look around. We had lots of discussions about school and what it will be like. We finished the term with a leavers concert at the Postmill centre, parents were invited to come and watch the children sing their favourite songs and be presented with their leavers certificate and present. What an emotional event that was! We will miss our school leavers so much and wish them all the very best in their next step of education.
Next stop is our new school year which begins in September. We will be welcoming more new children into pre-school and welcoming back our existing children. We still have limited availability in our two year room and availability in our pre-school room so if you have a child who is 2 or 3 years old and you would like them to come to pre-school, please email
