About the Visiting Programs

Program Contact

The Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) is a community based organisation addressing the diverse and changing needs of multicultural communities in Australia. We provide information, advice and services to people and communities from diverse backgrounds to reach their full potential. The work with our customers is based on quality, respect and diversity, consumer satisfaction, and compliance.

Our Friendly Visiting Program and our Community Visitor Scheme program are volunteer based programs.

Looking for a visitor for a person in a care facility, please ask for the Community Visitor Scheme. Looking for a visitor for a person living independently at home, please ask for the Friendly Visiting Program.

Our volunteers visit elderly people on a regular base. They offer their friendship and companionship and bring some quality time into our client’s lives. The volunteer and the client may like to share activities such as: reading books and newspapers, go shopping, doing crafts or just sharing their life stories.

Who can get a visitor?

We care, we support, we educate. This is what we’ve been doing for 30 years.
