AMCHAM “BE MY GUEST” AT COCA-COLA HELLENIC BOTTLING COMPANY ARMENIA In the scope of AmCham “Be my Guest” series, more than 30 representatives of AmCham member community visited Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia. The participants learned about the history of Coca-Cola factory and impactful projects in the scope of Coca-Cola’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. Water Resource Management System executed in Armenia and its solutions for water resource saving and reduction of plastic bottle usage generated a lot of questions and led to a dynamic discussion among the participants. By touring factory premises, guests were introduced to the Company’s Water Stewardship initiatives, waste sorting and recycling efforts as well as other sustainable solutions the Company implements.

On 6 December 2017, AmCham Armenia Board Member, Mr. Karen Garaseferyan, participated at the 5th Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Conference, “Eurasian Economic Integration: New Challenges and Opportunities,” organized by AmCham Russia in partnership with the U.S.-Russia Business Council and EEC. This event attracted about 100 participants including Government officials from Russia, multi-national company representatives as well as AmCham Armenia and AmCham Kyrgyzstan. Conference serves as a good platform for discussions between EEC and private sector and has become a traditional event, where EEC leadership presents achievements and outlines further integration plans of the Eurasian Economic Union. EEC Chairman of the Board, Mr. Tigran Sargsyan, and senior EEC staff discussed the future of Eurasian integration, customs policies, technical regulations, competition policy, and financial markets. Mr.Karen Garaseferyan presented a track record of collaboration with EEC in Armenia during the panel session devoted to the exploration of the best practices of multinationals operating in the Eurasian market. Mr. Garaseferyan stressed the importance of the dialogue between the public and private sectors and brought examples of a constructive collaboration between the officials and business society organized at the AmCham platform in Armenia.
AMCHAM PARTICIPATES AT “DOING BUSINESS” DISCUSSIONS On 25 December 2016, AmCham member companies participated at the “Tax & Customs reforms and Armenia’s ranking in WB Doing Business” workshop, organized by the Center for Strategic Initiatives in partnership with the RA Ministry of Economic Development and Investments and RA State Revenue Committee. The objective of the workshop was to raise the awareness of reforms implemented on Tax and Customs front as well as to discuss reform’s implications on Armenia’s ranking in WB “Doing Business” Report in regards to “Paying Taxes” and “Trade across boarders” indicators. CSI will continue the series of similar discussions for other indicators throughout the year.
