Welcome to our third newsletter publication of the year 2022. As American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia Secretariat, our aim is to serve our membership while increasing our value proposition. We have achieved this through various initiatives and activities centered on our five pillars.
We are delighted to share our activities for the period between July and September The Chamber hosted its first ever AmCham Money FM radio show. This platform allows AmCham members to showcase their products and services.
We were privileged to attend the Big Iron Farm Show in the United States, the show promotes B2B linkages while giving attendees an opportunity to understand the farming structure and machinery used for high return on productivity.
The Chamber has continued to engage the Government while maintaining good relations In the just ended quarter, the Chamber was privileged to have been part of the Public Private Dialogue Forum The PPDF aims to strengthen dialogue and target impactful reforms for the purpose of innovation, job creation, investment and economic growth.
The Chamber also welcomed the new Ambassador to Zambia, Mr Micheal Gonzales He handed over his credentials to President Hakainde Hichilema on the 16th of September, 2022 We are eager to work with him as he executes his duties in Zambia
Under our thought leadership pillar, we conducted a Digital Marketing Training. The Chamber also hosted its 2022 Annual Golf Day which falls under our networking pillar Finally, we would like to to thank you our membership for your support, engagement and participation through out the quarter We look forward to yet again a great last quarter with you

The American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia is proud to have been part of the just ended Big Iron Farm Expo from the the 12th to the 15th of September 2022 in the USA.
The Big Iron Farm Expo is the largest annual machinery exhibition event in North America attracting International Visitors from all around the globe. The 2022 edition was in West Fargo, North Dakota [The breadbasket of America] and attracted over 800 exhibitors. This platform is in line with AmCham's pillars to create business linkages, commercial recommendations and advise companies that may want to penetrate the Zambian market
The American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia hosted its Annual Golf Day on 08th September 2022 at Bonanza Golf Course Golf Day is one of AmCham's flagship events that is held annually In line with the Chamber's pillars, the event targets beyond the membership to create a thriving environment for promotion, networking and business linkages while participating in various activities
This year ' s Golf day attracted a wide spectrum of industry leading organizations that came on board by providing sponsorship ranging from platinum to the lowest tier

The American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia warmly welcomes the New Ambassador of the United States of America to Zambia, His Excellency Mr Michael C Gonzales His credentials were officially received on Friday the 16th of September, 2022 by the President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency, Mr Hakainde Hichilema

The American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia CEO Ms Chansa Mwila was part of the just ended Africa Digital Innovation competition organized by the US Chamber of Commerce as guest judge for East Africa.
As part of the 2022 Digital Economy Summit, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S. Africa Business Center (USAfBC) in conjunction with AmChams across Africa, hosted its annual Digital Innovation Competition for African Startups. The competition is targeted towards Digital SMEs and startups that are looking to facilitate the delivery of digital, cross border, interoperable, and cross domain services, and solutions, while also accelerating their digitally enabled growth
The Digital Innovation Competition awarded innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups for developing solutions through digital
products and services while creating a positive impact on African citizens. This competition seeks to promote talent in the African region through social impact, digital initiatives that incorporate cutting edge technologies, innovation, and creativity in the form of proposals that formulate solutions to different problems and opportunities in the region
The competition was focused on three broad thematic areas: 1.
Fintech and Cyber Solutions: covering data flow solutions, cross border digital platform solutions, mobile technology, intellectual property management, cyber security, and digital movement of creative art (movies, music, art)
Sustainability & Supply Chain Solutions: covering smart manufacturing, e commerce, management of shared economies, improvement to digital supply chain, logistics solutions to e commerce businesses, and Agriculture technology (AgTech).
Human Development & Social Services Solutions: covering digital health solutions, e learning platform
The American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia hosted its first ever AmCham Money Fm radio show on the 26th of August, 2022. The program is in partnership with Money FM radio and is sponsored by Fairworld properties Limited; A member of the Chamber
In line with the Chamber's Pillars, the Chamber will utilize this platform to advocate for its membership on various business related issues, provide investment information, networking, business linkages and disseminate information on various thought leadership trainings
The Chamber has also created an opportunity for its members to showcase their organization's products and services. AmCham is therefore encouraging its members to take advantage of this platform.
The USAID Let’s Read project and AmCham Zambia have signed a memorandum of understanding to execute a kindergarten literacy objective by bridging the gap and availing teaching and learning materials through this CSR initiative The ongoing program allows members of the Chamber to sponsor various initiatives under the Let's Read project such as providing book's, funding a garden, providing bicycles for the transportation of books locally and sponsoring a volunteer to help the children read Tyre King, a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia through this program, partnered with the Let’s Read Project campaign to help provide over 2 million books to children in Zambia’s schools as part of its corporate social responsibility This was launched on the 8th of September, 2022 in Livingstone to commemorate International Literacy Day.
