Austin Black Business Journal® & Community News – A trusted source for Community and Business News - “Do you get it?”

Mission

AUSTIN Black Business Journal® & Community News is the only business and lifestyle magazine for the people of Central Texas. With our extensive monthly coverage of local community and business news, growing social media following, Black Business directory, print & digital glossy journal, and BBJ-TV offerings we are the preferred advertising venue in Central Texas. AUSTIN Black Business Journal® & Community News prides itself on creating quality content for the multi-cultural community we serve.

ABOUT US AUSTIN Black Business Journal® & Community News is a FREE print & digital local community newspaper and business journal. We mail to homes located in East Austin and thousands more loyal Central Texas print subscribers. We can also be found in local libraries, churches, businesses, hospitals & more. We report on the local Austin metropolitan community which includes business, transportation, education, health care and entertainment news.

CORE VALUES Duty - We have a duty to inform, empower and transform our community. Honor - We honor our past while working to set our youth and community up for a successful future. Respect - We respect & value all people, yet make a concerted effort to build strong Black businesses and communities. Excellence- We choose excellence as a minimum standard for everything we do. Faith - We believe living a life of service is a life well lived.

BLACK BUYING POWER African American consumers are an underestimated force in the American economy, but not for long. According to a 2016 Neilson report, African Americans are on the road to spend more than $1.5 trillion by 2021. This collective buying power means that nearly $2 trillion will flow through Black America annually. With so much buying power, AUSTIN Black Business Journal® & Community News is strategically using its multi-media platform as a conduit for information and economic empowerment to transform our community. Our GOALS are to two-fold (1) provide influence & direction for Black communities and consumers. (2) Increase market share, revenue growth and boost profits of African American businesses.
