TRADICINE VET
Kilim Village is located to the northeast of Langkawi island. Located strategically near Kilim Mangrove Park and Galleria Perdana, the village had become one of the tourist transit points. However, the culture of the village is slowly vanishing as the traditional activities such as agriculture, economy and farming industrial is overshadowed by tourism activities. The village is given a traditional veterinary but doesn’t famous among the villagers and tourist. The target now is how to make use of the traditional veterinary medicine and educate the villagers on the knowledge otherwise to upgrade their education level. The village is fragile in the culture of the village itself that is getting fading because of uninterested youth to involve in their traditional activities. T he veterinary habitat centre is used to be the identity of the village, is also not found in the village anymore. Potentially, the farm and other potential animals are used to protect and preserve the village animal, while educating the youth of the local people which will provide economical infrastructure for the village itself. Uses in terms of healing, preserve and controls the animal breeding. why we need provide this veterinary centre? It is to emphasize and appreciate the speciality of the knowledgeable veterinary who is the only one use the traditional method which is by herbs. The approach is to introduce and protect the animal and exploit its medicine to generate income and job opportunities. L angkawi Island is a world-famous tourism destination, the initial idea is to spread the traditional medical knowledge for the use of the Kilim village and how they apply it to potential animals. Therefore, the proposed building should create the pharmaceutical for veterinary purpose and preserve the habitat all in one place. The Tradicine Vet demonstrate the doctors and patient interact which people and a visitor can learn from there. The thematic revitalization of the building is an educated village that protects the welfare of its farm animals.

HEXA [+]MMUNITY
The hexagonal structure is built from modules that can see on the exterior as well as throughout the interior. Built as a metaphor for representing the nature of the organization, where many different generations come together to create one entity. The facilities inside there are shops, mosque, kindergarten/nursery and a multipurpose hall for more than 1,500 people. The hexagonal design will serve as a multi-function meeting space and house offices, restaurants, meeting and educational space as well as public viewing platforms. An open staircase winds up the exterior of the building and leads all the way up to the roof, where a public garden and green roof await. Rooms, meeting space and public areas are all well lit by plenty of natural daylight. The hexagonal shapes that will be able to hold more modules, such as honeycomb system. It is efficient in space composition and more probable of interaction through multiple faces. When this shape becomes an architectural space with a program and is repeated through a pattern, an interaction between each unit and a program will be maximized.

The strategical site which located between the China Town, Anglican Cathedral and the Dock area present the best opportunity for people accessibility and recognition. The site classified as a primarily residential area that including some commercial and production industries. The design ideas will enhance a social interaction among residents or tenants with a variety of programs and public space since the site quite active with residential movement. The planning of this development will ensure a conducive and sustainable living with adequate infrastructure and facilities that they lack off at here. The design proposal here is to provide a high-quality of healthy living within an affordable housing community that fit in a different type of users. The idea is to address flexibility design through every typology of units by creating a building that suitable for variations of tenants and buyers. By having multiple flexible typologies that allow control in the dimension of the form of a particular human lifestyle standard. It is exposing the possibilities of creating a luxurious looking housing for users to designing what they want in a practical way. The Interblock will create housing units that control the users customize preferences due to their design perception.

THE NOURISHING CYCLE
This project is a self-sustain building that helps to improve the green strategy of this place as they lack in the green development. The urban style language will suit adapting the design to generate their identity and works as the landmarks as well. The site condition of surrounding buildings with a low rise building typology and it is not in the middle of the high-density zone such as a big city. The diagram below explains the sectional environmental aspect that integrates into this design. The key challenge of this project retaining flexibility while ensuring natural ventilation works for all seasons. The usage of light construction and ready made steel construction is encouraged for this project. The cantilever amount to achieve which inherently demands stronger, heavier, structure. By following 3x3 meter column’s gap and parallel grid lines placement, the building itself is more durable to hold the load. To make the flow is more organize, the proper cores are placed in the middle and it holds the column from getting twisted as well. To have the spaces all surrounding the internal atrium, the secondary grid is introduced to hold the cantilevered flooring stronger.

The development is emphasizing and preserving the existing cultures, vitality and diversity of the site will be the main priorities of the development. it begins by proposing the new residential housing by injecting the community needs with a green environment to enhance the Seksyen U12 cultural and civic life. This will create a new generation will become more beneficial to the whole scheme and would help to knit the existing environment into the proposed development. As time goes by, in future will commit the quality of better life to make the place feel safe and healthier living. A large number of small openings and passages that allow matter to pass through. Rather than a pre- occupied with solid, independent object like form, it is experimental phenomena of spatial sequences within around and between that triggers emotions and joy in the experience of architecture. It creates light effects through form, shade and shadows. the idea is based on the porosity morphology which is understood as something easily accessible, easy to penetrate, open, interacting and inviting.

WALK THRU KFC
Nowadays, people rush by catching with time and their schedule, that they tend to forget to stop and enjoy the little things in life. Food now has also become a necessity to rush by having a drive through. Restaurants with walk-in and walk by, where people come-eat-go. Is there no pleasure in these fast paced movements, can there not be any solution to simply enjoy your meal with the little inspiration that comes by? KFC Walk Thru, is a concept we came up to integrate with the fast paced community but at the same time interjecting a little essence that was long forgotten by the human nature. We forced the spaces in such that it creates a whole different dimension inside, interplaying with light and shadow, levels and hierarchy where it amuses the senses of the human mind as we experience the simple things such as eating or having a conversation over there. We transformed and juxtaposed this form into a smooth linearity where the movement is not obstructed, but with a hint of playfulness. This is what we call, Walk Thru. To those who could not afford to enter the building due to the time constraints, they are allowed to experience the spaces in a whole different dimension, where they are slowly welcomed in a humble entrance and gradually going through the drive through and finishing with a stupendous experience of going in and under the space of the outward cantilevered form. For a split second, they will experience a breathtaking scene when the sun casts it’s rays onto the perfect angle with the interplays, and shall they enjoy the small but meaningful moments of the space without being in the space.

CABIN IN THE WOOD
Nowadays, urban poor living at Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur is lack of public community spaces in their living surrounding. It is also lack of green forest spaces which leads to the earth global warming issue. The community around the Chow Kit do a lot of retail activities and business trades among themselves but not in a proper way which they use to be clustered during day and night. For the example is the night market. We are designing an improved public centre for an urban area which enhances the ecological, society and economy sectors of the city by injecting the forest concept into the design.

PIXELS HUB
The Heritage trail will not only serve as linkage or path but also a multi-functioning public area. People will search for the place and come there solely for the purpose to experience the place. The concept is fairly straightforward, sculpting the form by composing small pixel like components while implementing the culture through patterns of the traditional Songket. The overall design aim is to design a public space that looks like one big structure as a whole instead of being a collection of many dispersed street elements. Also to have a structure with bold theme and form. Imagine a building being laid one horizontally on the site. The idea of creating a structure may be an obstacle on an unpredictable nature of the site, especially the terrain. Thus, we come out with the solution of accepting the idea of combining small elements in becoming one. Other than that, we also want to create a bold, sculptural form with a less complex method. Hence, this is where the puzzle kind of approach starts to develop. This puzzle kind of approach is actually inspired by modular architecture. It is basically done by combining a few modules which carry its specific function. These modules are arranged accordingly on site to fit their purpose. This allows much room for personalization to suit the need of the client if it is ought to be altered.

THE FLEXINET
The form of the design is mainly inspired by the movements of a Rubix Cube, a timeless yet popular IQ game. The variation of colours which changes according to the moves made on the cube are the qualities that are taken as the design basis and were further developed. The movements comprise of shifting, twisting and changing are injected into the functionality of the design as well as the appearance resulting a creative and innovative design outcome. The name Flexinet is mainly the combination of the word flexibility and cabinet. The design idea is to create an efficient yet relaxing working environment which also reflects the contemporary physicality and attitude of the current generation. The furniture is basically the combination of desk, storage and sitting which are the essentials in any working activity. The Flexinet is convenient collapsible multi-purpose furniture that will solve the limited space problem. Space-saving yet robust furniture as this is popular nowadays as it spares you maximum usage of space for your needs due to its minimal area consumption.

The “N E R V E” facade portrays the integrated intelligent city of the i-City. With the total development of 12 million square feet, the city comprises of residentials, office suites, commercials, and entertainment park. The mixed-development of the i-City have become the catalyst for making Selangor as an internationally renowned state. The facade interpreted the image of the i-City as a vibrant city. The solid looking white cladding during the day is representing the integrity of the city with the pink-purplish “nerve” as a significant feature of the facade design, grab attention from the federal highway. Impulsive led lighting of the nerves to create an animated facade at night while the light from within cast an abstract animated shadow on the skin. The material strategy is the usage of a white perforated metal sheet as the main clad, allows the breeze to flow through while giving a solid effect surface. SAVIOUR NEXUS
The ‘Saviour Nexus’ serves the original purposes of a lighthouse which are to act as a navigation aid and to warn boats of dangerous areas. The light emits from several sources into the ‘Nexus’ and diverges to the dangerous area while the main light will roam around to navigate the boats around it. The ‘Savior Nexus’ not just to become a traffic sign on the sea, but also a memorial in remembrance of an awful tragedy caused by the rocky site of Giglio Porto. The light being cast from the structure from several directions into the ‘Nexus’ which it works like a diamond, and it refracts then reflects the light to specific directions. Memorial of the tragedy The form of the lighthouse was derived from the rocky site of Giglio Porto which is expressed through the structure. The space frame structure symbolizes the total victims during the tragedy that include the 1023 crews and 3229 passengers, which it had taken 32 lives. The structure emerged from the sea and forms a sculptural movement towards the sky. The partly submerged structure symbolizes the struggle of the sunken souls. This structures located right at the tragedy site where the boat grounded and rolled onto. While the one emerged towards the sky, symbolizes the one who survived from the tragedy. Each one of the joints radiates glowing light for the remembrance of the tragedy that involved each one of the passengers and crews. The structural movement holds a pole with the ‘Nexus’. As one perceive towards the ‘Nexus’, there is a reminiscing platform overlooking towards the tragedy site.

VERNACULAR SKY-TERRACE
City populations are growing faster than the city infrastructure can adapt. The world’s cities are growing because of population shift especially concerning rural to city areas in search of jobs and other opportunities in hopes for improvement of lives and creating better future for the younger generations. Along with the growth and expansion of cities, comes the rise in environmental issues and problems. It comes to the role of future architects, planners and developers to achieve green and sustainable strategies where modern buildings can rely on new forms of energy. By honouring the culture of the nature setting, the Vernacular Sky-Terrace invites visionary ideas for Kampung Baru to become a better city without ‘touching’ the existing fabric. The basic idea for this project is to elevate the existing site and improvise! The decision of hovering over the existing site is inspired by the aims to create one community consisting of office spaces, apartments, commercial area and public landscape also to generate the largest possible green space open to the public, right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city. Vernacular Sky-Terrace is equipped with many sustainable features. They are the wind turbine, rainwater harvesting, solar energy which enables the building to generate energy by itself. Other than that, other features include cross ventilation through many openings and hierarchy of levels and green areas improve the living condition of the building while minimizing the consumption of energy.
