DIPLOMA STUDENT NZC Diploma Programs New Zealand College offers academic courses which can be taken individually to upgrade skills or for credit towards a diploma or university degree in NZ. NZC offers a full 4 semester NZ Diploma in Business, and has partnership agreements with other reputable colleges for Diplomas in Hospitality and Hotel Management.

NZ Diploma in Business NZC offers a full selection of courses for the NZ Diploma in Business. To successfully complete the Business Diploma you will need to pass 12 courses: 6 x 100 level courses, 4 x 200 level course, 2 further courses at 100 or 200 level. NZ Diploma in Hotel Management NZC is a pathway partner with Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS) in New Plymouth. PIHMS is famous for the quality of its Swiss Hotel Diploma, a 5 semester programme that includes 2 semesters of paid work. Students can study at NZC first and then apply to enter PIHMS.

LANGUAGE STUDENT NZC Language Program NZC language programs are operated by a team of experienced and highly qualified teachers. Each student is given a diagnostic test and personal interview on the first day and placed in the appropriate class and level. Progress is monitored by NZC staff and students move to higher levels according to their progress. Programs are fully integrated in all aspects of language learning including speaking, listening, reading, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and pronunciation.

Working in New Zealand New Zealand allows most international students to work part time and as there are currently many job opportunities, NZC offers a range of programs combining work and study. These programs include Study plus paid work, Study plus unpaid internships, and Diploma courses with paid and unpaid work options.

Students studying fulltime in all diploma programs can work for 20hrs/week. NZC staff assist diploma students in finding work which will enhance their study program.

Co-op Programs The Diploma in Construction Managment and Diploma in Hotel Management have work components. College staff assist with job placement.

Eligible students may apply to work up to 20 hours in any given week. International students undertaking a course of 12 months or more may apply to work full time over summer holidays. International students who have graduated from a course that gains points under the skilled migrant category, may apply for a 6 month open work permit.

UNIVERSITY PATHWAY STUDENT To enter a university in New Zealand or Australia a student needs: 1. Proof of English proficiency. 2. A sufficient GPA (grade point average) in a foundation program, graduation from high school, or completion of an officially recognized diploma program. NZC offers English examination preparation courses, a foundation program accepted by more than 100 universities worldwide, diplomas, and pathways to other institutions. NZC staff can assist elligible students with university placement to universities in NZ, Australia, Canada, the UK and the USA.

University Placement Service NZC Counseling staff can assist you in finding the right university in NZ, Australia, Canada, and USA for your undergraduate and post graduate studies. English Proficiency Test - IELTS Most internationally recognized English examinations are accepted for university entrance but IELTS is the most popular in New Zealand. NZC Intensive English courses are designed to prepare students for the IELTS exams. Students can choose full time or part time studies, can start any Monday and can study for as many weeks as they wish. Foundation Program - (Global Assessment Certificate) Students who complete the 36 week Foundation Program operated by NZC, with a sufficient GPA score, can enter universities in NZ, Australia, the UK, the USA and Canada. First Day Orientation You will arrive at NZC at 9.00am on Monday (excluding public holidays) and have an orientation, test, interview, and walking tour by our staff.
