Yvonne Fenn was a longtime customer of Coastal Cottage on Amelia Island before she decided to purchase the business in January of this year. Originally from Jacksonville, Yvonne has lived all over the globe. She spent the last fifteen years in Connecticut before she made the decision to relocate to Amelia Island in the spring of 2017. “I had a career as a management/strategic consultant transforming global Fortune 500 companies, but now I get to do it all for myself! And I have the flexibility to care for my aging parents, whom I moved to Amelia Island from their home in Tampa.”

She and her husband used to remodel and design homes. “We would be doing this together had he not passed away. The most rewarding part of what I do is working with customers to curate their space and make it feel like their personal Coastal Cottage. That’s the core focus of the store as we (the team at Coastal Cottage) move forward reshaping the business.”

Coastal Cottage of Amelia offers Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island a fresh, eclectic take on home furnishings. They also have lots of unique and beautiful gifts by some of Amelia’s local artists. When Yvonne isn’t busy creating the perfect home for her customers, she likes spending time with her fur baby Sierra and taking care of her parents. “I want to make the most of their senior years,” she shares. Coastal Cottage is located at 1439 Sadler Road in the Publix Shopping Center (next to Staples). For more information, stop by the store, call (904) 580-0484, or visit www.coastalcottageamelia.com.

Amelia’s Attic

Amelia’s Attic is your place to go for Island home furnishings, as they consistently offer a large selection of new, reasonably priced furniture and gently used consignment pieces. In addition to furniture, Amelia’s Attic also offers a tremendous selection of wall art and lamps.

Family-owned and operated, co-owners Sylvia Gedeon and her daughter, Jennifer Crews, are long-term locals from Fernandina Beach. They share a bond with the business and enjoy each other’s company. “We look forward to attending High Point Furniture Market. It’s the best annual business trip to seek out interesting new merchandise,” says Sylvia. “The environment is dynamic as inventory changes daily. We sell items off our sales floor and quickly fill the spaces with either new merchandise from our warehouse or the next round of unique consignment.” Many regular shoppers stop by once a week to see what’s new, notes Jennifer. “The unique offerings vary weekly since items arrive daily!”

“We are grateful to our team of employees, who are part of our family. They welcome customers and offer friendly service without pressure. They are all creative and talented, arranging the mixed inventory for a unique retail environment. Service is our specialty, and we encourage customers to visit often,” says Sylvia. Amelia’s Attic Furniture will celebrate 30 years in business in February of next year! Stop by their store at 2164 Sadler Road in Fernandina Beach, call (904) 277-2095, or visit their website at ameliaislandfurniture.com.
