LIGHTWEIGHT Lightweight skiwear can make a massive difference to your day. We’ve been working with our partners at Pertex and PrimaLoft – combining their fabrics and insulation to make our skiwear as light as you can get but still durable and warm.

SKI FIT In skiing you move differently from other sports. Our ski pants and jackets are carefully shaped to match people’s skiing positions. THREE LINES, THREE WAYS TO LAYER UP. Layering is still the best way to stay at the right temperature on the mountain. But there’s no one ‘right’ way to do it: some skiers like separate layers, other skiers prefer to have one fully insulated ski jacket. It’s a preference thing. Which is why we have three separate lines in our range. Each with a different take on layering, all super warm and super light.

That’s why the design team for our women’s collection are all women and all passionate skiers. This year we’ve also been working closely on the range with Molly Baker, one of our top freeskiers – adding inspiration right from the cutting edge of the sport. Thanks Molly!

FEEL WARM Being cold is no fun – whether that’s up the mountain or walking around town. So we’ve put a little bit more insulation into our women’s collection to add extra warmth while staying really light and well fitted. We’ve also used Thermaflect and added brushed tricot lining to retain body heat and make the inside of your skiwear feel really soft and cosy.

FEEL FITTED We’ve designed our women’s collection to look as good as it feels, with articulated cuts so you never feel restricted when skiing, and with no bagginess anywhere.

LOVE THE DETAILS We’ve made our women’s range with carefully selected color palletes and lots of stylish little detailing. So you can choose a combination that feels right for you, and makes you feel totally at ease up the mountain.

SPECIAL SKIWEAR MATERIALS One of the things that makes our skiwear so special – and so light – is its unique combination of Pertex fabrics and PrimaLoft insulation. It’s a combination tailor-made for skiing, offering protection and warmth at a weight you really wouldn’t expect for ski gear.

INSULATION LAYERS

A protection layer does exactly that: it protects from wind, rain and snow. It also lets vapor heat escape to keep skiers dry and cool. In our range we use top-quality Pertex fabrics for the protection layer.

This is the layer of material within a piece of skiwear that locks heat in and keeps you warm. We use three breathable insulation materials in our skiwear: PrimaLoft Silver, new PrimaLoft Silver Down Blend and our own Thermabody insulation. We also use Thermagrid as a warm midlayer fabric for our Microfleeces, and Thermaflect as a heatreflective lining on some of our products.

WIND, RAIN, SNOW TECHNOLOGY

PERTEX SHIELD+ Pertex Shield+ is super wind-and waterproof, but also breathable and light. This fabric features a laminated membrane with a 20.000 mm water column that adapts to your temperature, so the harder you work the better it breathes. A brilliant protective layer we use for most of our skiing jackets.

PrimaLoft Silver is a top-quality polyester insulation. What makes it great for skiing is that it’s been specially developed for wet and damp conditions: PrimaLoft Silver keeps its structure and stays warm when it gets wet. It’s also fast-drying and easy to care for, while its lack of bulk means awesome freedom of movement and makes it easy to compress.

PERTEX ENDURANCE When you’re skiing you often don’t need a waterproof shell. Instead the ideal is something windproof and water-resistant enough to get you through the odd snow shower, but also really light. Pertex Endurance, with its 1.000 mm water column, gives you exactly this balance – which is why we use it in Cliffline’s skiable midlayer.

THERMABODY Our Thermabody is an insulation we use in some of our warmest and most insulated products for real mid-winter conditions. It’s made from synthetic non-woven polyester – really durable and resilient.

For our insulated Ridgeline and Treeline PrimaLoft midlayers, both of which team up perfectly with high performance shells, we use Pertex Microlight as the outside layer. It’s tough, windproof and protects the insulation, but it’s also incredibly light so cuts down weight.

Pertex Equilibrium is a lightweight stretchy fabric with a double weave structure for good moisture management and breathability. We use it where stretch and freedom of movement are essential, like in our jacket-to-pant interface.

Waterproofing: with DWR Breathability: The breathability for Pertex Microlight is measured in air permeability which is why the value is not comparable to our other fabrics. This fabric is highly breathable.

WATERPROOFING (EG. 20.000 mm)

Waterproof is when a fabric won’t let any water through. It helps to keep the body dry from the outside. The measure for waterproofing is a fabric’s ‘Water Column’, measured in mm.

Breathability means how well vapor can pass through different fabric layers – from a warm, humid environment to a colder one. High breathability means sweat and humidity can escape which helps to keep the body dry. The measure for breathability is a fabric’s ‘MVTR’, measured as g/m²/24h. The higher the number, the better the fabric is at managing moisture.

A special material we use for our Microfleeces, which provides awesome breathability and warmth. It’s all about the grid construction: it lets vapor escape, retains warmth, wicks away sweat and dries quickly. It also stretches in all directions for greater comfort. And it comes with an anti-odor finish to keep skiers fresh.
