Half a Million Dollar Purse: Back Seat Buckers It’s hard not to get caught up in all the excitement surrounding Back Seat Buckers lately. Fans of just about anything have a reason to get involved. For the bull fan’s interest, ABBI has picked top ranking breeding programs and lineages for the pool of 100 Futurity Calves competing. Included in the mix of bloodlines are Houdini, White Sports Coat, Little Yellow Jacket, and Panhandle Slim. Knowing that your bull will be trained by Kent Cox, trainer of 2011 Bull of the Year Bushwacker, and a service team including Dean Wil-
son and retired PBR bullfighter Joe Baumgartner gives you the comfort of knowing that your bull will be receiving top-notch care. Sports fans are more interested than ever because of all the celebrities that have joined in the program’s inaugural season. But with Back Seat Buckers, knowing that you would be invited with just 99 other people to a meal or party where John Elway, Chad Ochocinco, Wayne Gretzky, and Reggie Jackson are in attendance is just another of the many perks of being a
member. PBR fans stand to gain a lot, as membership in Back Seat Buckers gets you PBR Event Tickets at special rates and a 2-year-old bull that will be competing at stops along the BFTS tour. Not to mention if your Futurity bull becomes the next superstar and continues his career by squaring off against some of the toughest PBR Riders in the world. But when it comes down to it, those who are most
excited about Back Seat Buckers are fans of making money. Owners have a 1/100 chance to win at each event. The Back Seat Buckers pot totals half a million dollars, and the finals champion wins $250,000 in one night. Considering the finals take place in Las Vegas, NV, this is probably the best odds you’ll see all year.

A Look Ahead: More Futurities Than Ever When the ABBI Staff sat down at their meeting recently, they knew what they wanted to do: get more Futurities on the schedule for their members. So that’s exactly what they did.
...The more events scheduled, the more opportunities for our members to win money and earn points toward World Finals.
The Futurity season starts a bit earlier this year, with an event in Oklahoma City in conjunction with the Built Ford Tough Series Classic. ABBI is committed to growing the Futurity System because they know it is the best way to get bucking bulls started on the competition ladder. Plus, the more events scheduled, the more opportunities for our members to win money and earn points toward World Finals.
phenville, TX. This is appropriate since the Spring Fling event was voted ‘Event of the Year’ for 2011. Boyd & Floyd consistently produce a great event for ABBI Stock Contractors, including the kick-off dinner and complete with an Easter egg hunt for the kids.
For 2012, ABBI has arranged to continue the popular Thackerville, OK futurity event. Other events with a first-time Futurity are Springfield, MO and Happily, the Junior Futurity Claremore, OK. season starts earlier too. The first event will be at Boyd & Floyd’s Spring Fling in Ste-

Each year sees it’s own stand-out stars, as you can tell by the list of Award Recipients for 2011. But do you ever wonder if things would be different if we let Facebook decide the results? Here’s what our Facebook & Twitter readers had to say when we asked their opinion on influential breeders. “I think Charlie Plummer is most influential
“To Julio Moreno and Cindy
Rosser for Bushwhacker he has brought a lot of great publicity to the bull side not just the riders and is so fun to watch” ‐Collin Crumrine

because a lot of peoples foundations go back to CP cows. However, I feel that people like Alex Naccarato, The Roaches (rafter7r), The Hargis', The Pages, Burns, Kephart, Kish, Katich, have all added their own twist and genetics to our industry. I can't say any 1 is more influential than the next I can just say I am proud to say my herd cows (go) back to all of the above!” ‐Tara Michelle Sanders
