Let The Good Times Roll

by Berren Strope, At Large Director

Exciting things are happening for the Junior Chianina Association and its members. At the time of writing this article, we are currently working on the fundraising sale for this year’s junior nationals. Thank you to all of the donors for your support of junior nationals and the junior association.

The junior board application is also nearly complete, giving Chianina junior members the opportunity to serve on one of the most prestigious junior breed boards in the country. I have had the opportunity to go to several different jackpot shows over the past couple of months and see the great Chianina juniors and their cattle on display.

All the juniors that I have talked to are excited to “Let The Good Times Roll” in Chickasha, Okla., this summer. The junior board and the rest of the Association have been working hard so that it will be a jam-packed showcase. All the activities will add great opportunities for our juniors, especially with the addition of the low % Chi heifer show. Remember that all registered females that fall under 6.25% WILL be allowed to show at this year’s junior nationals. They will have a separate show dedicated to them.

It will be an exciting time indeed for the breed. Entries are open for junior nationals and I hope to see all of you in Chickasha this summer!
