DAY 1 Flight to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Arrive at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront hotel for a 2 night stay. Dinner. DAY 2 Breakfast. Guided tour of Halifax & Citadel Hill. Afternoon guided tour of Peggy’s Cove with its world-famous lighthouse anchored in the rocky coastline. Dinner in Halifax. DAY 3 Breakfast. Travel to Cape Breton Island where Scottish, Acadian, Irish & English traditions blend. Visit Gaelic College to learn of the history of the Scottish Kilt & traditional Cape Breton music demonstration. Explore the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. Lodging at historic Inverary Inn, Baddeck, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia for 2 nights. This charming inn is located on the shores of beautiful Bras d’Or Lake. Dinner at the Inverary Inn. DAY 4 Breakfast. Full day guided tour of the breathtaking Cabot Trail on the northern part of Cape Breton Island. View the dramatic coastline where the mountains meet the sea. Lunch included at Keltic Lodge. Dinner at the Inn. DAY 5 Breakfast. Scenic travel through French Acadian settlements, fishing centers, rich orchards & farmlands. Lodging for 2 nights at Digby Pines Resort. Special dinner at hotel featuring world famous “Digby Scallops & Fisherman” talk. Enjoy delicacies from the sea as you discover the interesting Scallop 101 talk from a local fisherman.

DAY 6 Breakfast. Guided tour of the Bay of Fundy with box lunch. Highlights: Point Prim Lighthouse on the Bay of Fundy Shore with excellent views of the Bay of Fundy & Digby Gut. Listen to stories of shipwrecks, and discover bay marine life, the culture of the Mi’kmaq indigenous people of the region, coastal lighthouses & the bay tides. Visit Trinity Anglican Church National Historic Site & hear the story of survival of American Revolutionary War refugees.

SCENIC DRIVE ALONG THE CABOT TRAIL

Enjoy wonderful, sweeping views of the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean as you drive the dramatic cliffs of Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island. The Cabot Trail is home to the best coastal scenery on North America’s Atlantic Coast.

Tour Maud Lewis Memorial Site, a tribute to the local folk artist famous for her colorful artwork — 2 of her paintings hang in the White House. Also visit Little River, a quaint fishing village and Sandy Cove Beach. Exciting afternoon Whale Watching cruise! Dinner at hotel.

DAY 7 Breakfast. Guided tour of the Grand Pre National Historic Park, setting of Longfellow’s poem, Evangeline. Free time for lunch in Annapolis Royal. Visit Fort Anne, a National Historic Site built upon the central area of conflict between the English & French for control of North America. Visit Port Royal Habitation, a reconstruction of one of the oldest settlements in North America. Arrive at Westin Nova Scotian, Halifax, for a 1 night stay. Dinner.
