Harvest Social Media Campaign

Celebrates Our Growers

Consumers around the world want to know where the food they eat comes from. Our growers help us tell the story of American pistachios – responsibly grown by a community of farmers. Our global social media harvest campaign sets the stage for us to tell our story by featuring our growers across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. While our posts feature individual grower stories, they aim to drive consumers to our website where they will meet more of them. The posts will touch on prevailing food values, safety, health and wellness, social impact and experience – and most important, convey the message that pistachios are American-grown. Read more …

American Pistachio Grower Alison Nagatani shared her sunup to sundown pistachio harvest life with daily posts on social media.

Meet Our Grower

ALISON NAGATANI When Alison Nagatani’s great-grandfather emigrated from Japan to the United States, in 1912, he purchased 20 acres of land near Ducor, California. That was over 100 years ago—a farming heritage to the Nagatani family. In 1980, the family planted a pistachio orchard in Earlimart, California. Like many young men and women, Alison wanted to attend college before settling on what her future would be. After graduating from California State University Long Beach, she worked in the business and communication industries. She stuck with it long enough to know her heart belonged to the family farm. Her father welcomed her when she asked to join him on the farm. She worked first as an employee and later as a partner. Read more ‌

American Pistachios Featured in Italy’s Popular Lifestyle Magazines Through APG’s public relation efforts, twenty-three articles were published about American pistachios in leading health, fitness, lifestyle and food service publications in Italy, resulting in over 16 million consumers viewing our message over the summer months. In Italy’s wellness monthly magazine, Come Stai, pistachios’ many benefits for tackling food cravings were explained. In Gioia, Italy’s popular lifestyle magazine, American pistachios were featured in a three-page article, “Pistachios, Not Just a Snack.” It included an interview with APG’s spokesperson, Chef Christian Milone, who shared his use of high-quality American pistachios and described how their flavor, beauty and texture can enhance creative dishes, or pair perfectly with artisan beers, cocktails or a glass of wine.
