Moose Three —Monique, 20, comes from Reno, Nevada. She is serving as Project Outreach Liaison. She spent her last two years working as a nursing aide with the elderly, and plans to pursue a career in nursing after NCCC. She is also a former roller girl and an excellent cook.
—Jared, 24, hails from Reno, NV but professes NorCal love. He graduated from UC Santa cruz with a Global Economics degree. He is an aspiring international hero and plans to help the world with his superpowers. He was also on the Round 1 fire team and loved it. Peace, Love and Wine.
—Melinda, 23, is from Columbus, Ohio. She is a Media Representative and has a BA in English and Religious Studies. Last year, she was an AmeriCorps member in Spokane, Washington, working with adults with disabilities. She loves reading and long walks.
—Jami, Team Leader, is from Edmonds, WA. He has a BA in Outdoor Education and Philosophy from Evergreen State College. Before NCCC he worked as a camp counselor and as an outdoor education instructor. His hobbies include rock climbing, running, and knitting.
—Jason, 19, is a native of Grandview, Washington. He is serving as Corps Ambassador Program Representative. Last year, he served as a youth intern in Family Life Church and he would like to continue in that field next year. He likes to play guitar, sing and talk to everyone. —Ja'Lissa, 20, attended Chesapeake High School and is from Essex, Maryland. This is her second year in AmeriCorps NCCC and she is serving as the Community Council Representative. She loves fire engines and after Americorps she plans to join the Navy.
—Heather Mann, 24, is from Birmingham, GA. She is serving as Media Representative, loves to write, dance, and make a difference in people's lives. She graduated from Auburn University with a BA in Creative writing and Italian. She can only wiggle her right ear.
—Heather Goreman, 19, is a resident of Sacramento, California. While in NCCC, she is serving as Service Learning Initiator. She joined us after graduating high school in '11. She is in AmeriCorps in order to broaden her horizons. She loves to write her own lyrics. —Alex, 21, is from Bangor, Maine. He is Service Learning Initiator and completed the culinary program in Job Corps. He enjoys hiking, reading, math and video games. After NCCC, he plans to find work as a chef. If he could have any superpower, he would pick transformation.
