In partnership with nonprofit organizations, state and local agencies, and faith-based and other community organizations, members complete service projects throughout the region they are assigned.

“We’re prepared with forms”
Team Leader Griff RyanRoberts, 23, was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. He studied Film and Digital Media at UC Santa Cruz. Griff was a Corps Member last year at the Vinton, IA campus. He hopes to continue working with nonprofits throughout his career. Cecilia Ochoa, 19, is a Service Learning Initiator. She grew up in Rockville, MD, but lived in Guatemala for four years. She joined AmeriCorps NCCC because she believes that volunteering is important and she wanted to gain a different perspective on life. After AmeriCorps, Cecilia plans on going to school to study zoology and move to San Diego.
Maria Browning, 19, is the Project Outreach Liaison, as well as the Health and Wellness Liasion. She was born and has lived in New Mexico all her life. She attended Northern New Mexico College, and is a descendent of three different D’Angelo Hopkins, 19, was born and raised in Washington, D.C. He is generally a quiet person, and very honest. As one of Raven 6s Team Trainers, D’Angelo enjoys working out and he loves to dance. He is also the Vehicle, Safety, Tools Officer
Dania Munnigh, 23, is the Community Council Representative and Assistant Team Leader. She was raised in Miami, FL but calls Sahuarita, AZ home. She graduated from Northern Arizona State University with a B.S. in Secondary English Education and a minor in Japanese Studies. She’d like to go to Japan someday to work as a language teacher. Dania enjoys hiking, singing, listening to music, and playing sports.
Khalid Howard, 20, is a Service Learning Initiator. He was born in Springfield, OH but was raised in Columbus. He graduated from Youth Build Columbus in 2009. After NCCC, Khalid hopes to have a very successful career.
Courtney Miskell, 22, is a Corps Ambassador Program Representative. She was born and raised in Auburn, NY. She has a B.A. in Public Relations from Marist College. Courtney spent a semester abroad in Florence, Italy and hopes to return someday.
Paul Logan, 22, is a Team Trainer. He hails from the small town of Perry in Western NY. He graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a B.A. in Geography in December 2010. Paul enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and biking. Lyndsey Sturkey, 22, is the Media Representative. She was born and raised in Levittown, PA. She studied English Literature and Journalism at Millersville University. Lyndsey enjoys reading in her spare time, and hopes to have a career in public health nonprofits, particularly those trying to end factory farming. What Raven 6 has Done for America:
-Sorted 9,151 lbs. of food and prepared 1350 meals at the Food Bank of Delaware -Cleared 3.23 acres of invasive species at Iron Hill Park in Newark, DE
Darren Steptoe, 23, is a Corps Ambassador Program Representative. He was born in Oakland, CA and lives in Texas. He studied theater at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Before joining AmeriCorps NCCC, he ran a small production company and acting studio. Darren is very excited to be a part of such a great team and is ready for new experiences.
-Led 363 volunteers for Greater DC Cares’ Servathon 2011 -Prepared and delivered supplies to 85 project sites around D.C., MD, and VA -Cleaned 6 community gardens, 12 neighborhoods, and restored 4 community parks
