NCCC TEAM LEADER EBONY BONEY What year did you finish at Morgan? I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Morgan State University in May 2012.

How did you hear about AmeriCorps NCCC? I was actually searching for volunteer opportunities in my area during my sophomore year and I just happened to stumble upon AmeriCorps NCCC. I was interested enough that I decided to finish my degree before applying.

What made you want to be a Team Leader? I wanted to be a Team Leader because of the added responsibility that comes with the lifestyle. I believed that I am dedicated to service enough that I can motivate and teach 10 individuals from all over the country to become better citizens by assisting in their communities.

What do you like most about AmeriCorps NCCC so far? I am enjoying the fact that someone trusts me enough to hand me a laptop, cellphone, 15 passenger van and a group of 10 motivated, dedicated Corps Members to go do something good for a year.

Why should Morgan students be interested in AmeriCorps NCCC? Morgan students should be interested in AmeriCorps NCCC because it is every citizen’s duty to serve. I know a lot of students don’t really know what they want to do after they graduate. AmeriCorps NCCC is the perfect opportunity for young adults to become interested in serving their community.

What do you plan to do after you finish AmeriCorps NCCC? I am currently in the process of applying to graduate schools for a PhD in Social Psychology.
