Purpose to combine the best practices of civilian
service with the best aspects of military service, including leadership and team building, to meet national and community needs.
•
Residential, team-based and peer led; teams
composed of approximately ten members and one team leader; members aged 18-24.
•
Members serve for 10 months; we provide short
term, intensive direct service projects of approximately 6-8 weeks.
•
Disaster Response: NCCC deploys its members at a moment’s notice in
response to disasters anywhere in the country or US territories.
•
Strategic Support: NCCC provides a short term infusion of people to resource
poor communities who lack the capacity to support a team of grant-funded AmeriCorps members.
•
Flexibility: NCCC can respond nationally to changing priorities and
collaborates easily with other federal agencies. The program’s broad scope of service issue areas enables it to respond to a diverse spectrum of community needs.

Multiplier Force: NCCC enhances other AmeriCorps programs and
volunteer groups by assisting them in coordinating and managing large groups of volunteers.
