1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND A-level results are just around the corner, which means that parents across the country will soon have to face the dreaded moment when their children enter university. We are in age where our pockets and bags filled with essentials such as our phones, credit cards, purses, and wallets and so are easy targets for criminals. Students will face a new lifestyle in university. Therefore, personal security must be tightening. With the news that students take an average of RM 30 000 worth of possessions to university, of course, criminals will have their eyes on your belongings. You should be more extra careful. All these possession might seem invaluable, but according to the Police the best advice for hanging onto your possession is “only take what you need with you”. None of these simple precautions will cost you much in money and time. You will find that many universities or their students’ unions, often working closely with the local police, distribute personal alarms, and UV pens to new students. Based on an article, on 27 June 2011, a student of UiTM Dungun was involved in a hostel break in where he lost his personal belonging such as laptop, camera, iPhone, and mp3. The loss was estimated around RM9000. This case was reported on 23 September 2011. 1.2 TERM OF REFERENCE On Mac 2013, Madam Mary Thomas, lecturer of BEL 422 requested Mohamad Amir Asyraf, Che Mohammad Zulfadli Che Rahim, Nuraffifah Saibin and Hazriana Hazreen Harrith from UiTM Seri Iskandar to investigate the complaints and to suggest some possible changes which could benefit the other students of this university.
