Vast number of refugees have made their way across the Mediterranean to Europe. Destination of most these migrants is Germany, accordingly cities in germany have undertaken different methodes to prepare themselves with the flow of migrants. In order to tackle the issue, city of Stuttgart launched a student competition to design a multifunctional center to undertake issues faced by migrants. Kosmopolis (name of the competition) avoids being an office building to just simply conduct paper work, moreover it aims to be a cultural complex; where migrants from different nationalities can come together and also integrate easier to the host nation society.

The Bauhaus movement and its impact on modern architecture is undeniable and phenomenal. Bauhaus school in Dessau not only was the center of this movement but also became an example to modern architecture. However Bauhaus glorious years did not last long and it was shut. Nevertheless the legend of Bauhaus stayed alive, and in order to showcase their achievments Bauhaus foundation held an architectural competition to design a museum which exhibits both items from Bauhaus archiv and temporary exhibitions.

Terrace housing has been a part of English urban fabric for more than 5 centuries since the start of industrial revolution. However there has been rare attempts to improve architectural and sustainable qualities of these houses. In this project rather than destroying the landscape, I make houses as part of the landscape and create communal open space instead of conventional single back yards where occupants store their rubbish. Shape of buildings is designed in a way to blend smoothly into the landscape instead of harsh cubes.

Lack of quality public spaces in urban areas are becoming more bold as time goes on. Transformation of abandoned and unoccupied spaces in city scape is becoming more vital. Moreover since 2008, when Liverpool became european cultural capital, city is enormously investing in culture sector. To fulfill this goal they aimed to improve city center’s area, and they introduced this project which seeks to change the current status of site (car repair shop) to a cultural scene, People can spend time walking through the gallery to have a touch of culture and art to get to the other side of site, or can simply walk pass it.

United Kingdom’s education system is going through great transformations and architecture is playing an important role in it. Schools need to be more interactive, need to teach children in their very young ages to act more friendly and sustainable with our environment. considering these factors this project delivers all the above requirements while it is aware of children security and create a boundary between outside and inside of school.

W AY S TO L O O K WORKSHOP
Most objects we use in our everyday life eventually become ordinary to us and we lose interest in them, however some of these objects have great hidden spatial qualities. During the workshop we were encouraged to investigate an object in great depth. Through precise measuring and modeling every single part we understood every bits and corner of our object. For this reason I chose a Zippo lighter and extensively studied it. Moreover I produced two sets of collages to give these tiny spaces a grandeur sense of space.
