Starting from something as simple as writing a small code for turning an alarm on it can range to: • designing/testing a complex security system for a mainframe • designing/testing a device to be used in treating a raging disease • designing/ analyzing / simulating mechanical components of airplanes, engines etc. • providing methods to increase the revenue for some companies and cut their costs • advise companies on their production/marketing strategies • designing/creating tools to increase the productivity of their clients • R&D in some software fields • and the last but not the least, they create some products (read softwares) for use in multiple industries.

LANDSCAPEDesigned as a V-shaped configuration of blocks, delineating a central court. The ‘V’ opened to the north, letting in breezes that first, skim the surface. To tap into this natural airflow, the envelope of the buildings. had to calibrate permeability and shade. . The significant amount of space dedicated to living nature and the preference for organic over hard-edged forms creates a visual oasis within Singapore's dense city center. Views of nature have been shown to lower blood pressure and heart rate, improve mental engagement and awareness and positively impact attitude and overall happiness. These implicit reactions may translate into a desire to spend more time in the hotel’s public spaces, and to plan return visits to the hotel in the future. In addition, the high exterior visibility of the hotel’s natural forms and gardens provide local residents with an opportunity to experience the same positive health effects.

LEED - 2011 (CS 2009) 1. VEGETATION Sites with Zoning Ordinances but No Open Space Requirements Provide vegetated open space equal to 20% of the project site area. Development Density and Community Connectivity, vegetated roof areas can contribute to credit compliance. (PG-35) 2. STORMWATER Design the project site to maintain natural stormwater flows by promoting infiltration. Specify vegetated roofs, pervious paving and other measures to minimise impervious surfaces. Reuse stormwater for non-potable uses such as landscape irrigation, toilet and urinal flushing, and custodial uses. (PG-36) Potential Technologies & Strategies Use alternative surfaces (e.g., vegetated roofs, pervious pavement, grid pavers) and nonstructural techniques (e.g., rain gardens, vegetated swales, disconnection of imperviousness, rainwater recycling) to reduce imperviousness and promote infiltration and thereby reduce pollutant loadings. Use sustainable design strategies (e.g., low-impact development, environmentally sensitive design) to create integrated natural and mechanical treatment systems such as constructed wetlands, vegetated filters and open channels to treat stormwater runoff. (PG-37) 3. HEAT ISLANDS - Heat islands are defined as thermal gradient differences between developed and undeveloped areas. Consider replacing constructed surfaces (e.g., roof, roads, sidewalks, etc.) with vegetated surfaces such as vegetated roofs and open grid paving or specify high-albedo materials, such as concrete, to reduce heat absorption. (PG-38) Install a vegetated roof that covers at least 50% of the roof area.
