Projects including landslide detection, surface water monitoring for reservoir management, and habitat suitability prediction are being accelerated by scientists and engineers supported by NASA.

#3: Using AI for Wildlife Protection, Ocean Cleanup, and Other Purposes Through its AI for Earth program, Microsoft provides scientists and research institutions with access to AI and machine learning technology. AI for Earth, which was established in 2017, gives out grants to fund initiatives related to the environment, agriculture, biodiversity, and water. Ocean Cleanup is one such initiative. The project concentrates on lowering marine plastics, which endanger animals such as seabirds, whales, fish, and sea turtles and cause many other issues. Using AI, Ocean Cleanup simplifies the time-consuming process of identifying debris in tens of thousands of pictures.
