The mayor of Alfaz del Pi has been ordered by the regional tourist board to close down Camperpark Costa Blanca because it does not have the requisites needed for it to receive the Declaracion de Interes Communitario ( DIC ). The PP opposition has also called for another camper van site to be closed too , Orange Grove Camping Park , claiming that it has been operating illegally .The mayor had granted the owners a provisional license for 2 years in October 2012 .This was extended this year but the site has still not been issued a certificate and so should close according to the PP . The provisional license says that a camper van can only stay for up to 3 days but in fact many are staying for a month or more .The rate is 10 euros a day .They do not have the required facilities for such long stays such as sewage , electricity and fresh water .Residents in the area are feeling the effects of these long stay camper vans .Also the access road to the site is said to be inadequate for 38 camper vans . However the regional tourism department has not ordered the council to close down this site because on June 10 the provisional license was revoked and the owners were ordered to close it down .However it is only the regional government that has the authority to do this .So far the owners of the site have complied with all that has been asked of it .
