It has always made sense but then when has common sense ever had anything to do with anything ? At last , and it has taken over a year , there will be a coach connection between Alicante train station and such places as Benidorm and Torrevieja .The rail company Renfe and the coach company Alsa have reached an agreement . The combined rail and coach tickets went on sale last week for about 8 euros and now the train trip will cost about 68 euros with a coach ticket tagged on .The service began on August 8 . However , the downside is that only one train a day will offer this service .How crazy is that ? This train will leave Madrid at 10.45 .It will take passengers 7 minutes to transfer to a coach and they will arrive in Benidorm at 14.25. For the return trip the bus will leave Benidorm at 14.00 and arrive in Madrid at 18.35. There are different timings for Torrevieja . What happens to the poor old passengers who don´t want to leave Madrid at the time allocated ? They it seems will still have to rely on public transport or a taxi .However it is the beginning of a solution to all the wrangling that has taken place and hopefully the service will be extended .
