The historic cruise ship MV Funchal berthed in Cartagena ( Murcia ) last week , raising huge expectations amongst visitors . A total of 19 members of the Torrevieja Maritime Association enjoyed a guided tour of the ship which was gived by the Funchal´s hotel manager . The Association handed over a plaque to the captain of the ship before they all sat down together to have a meal .The treasurer of the Association was full of praises for the staff on the cruise liner and also Portuscale Cruises . MV Funchal was built in 1961 and is the last remaining ship and symbol of the once large fleet of Portuguese liners . The boat has undergone an extensive refit to meet the requirements of a modern cruiser but it has still managed to retain the ” old world ” charm of a traditional liner .
