Towns across the Costa Blanca are still very concerned about the risk of fire in their areas .Many towns have volunteers patrolling their forest areas including one team in Benissa .This volunteer group has been taking turns to patrol Benissa´s forested areas in a bid to alert the emergency services of any fires which may have started and also to watch out for any suspicious behaviour from members of the public . The group started in 1993 following a huge fire on the Bernia and Olta mountains .The volunteers do their patrols during the summer months when there is a greater risk of serious fires .They are provided with a vehicle , binoculars , first aid kits and a radio mobile . Other associations have started up in the wake of this initial one and now in Benissa they have Civil Protection and the Benissa Volunteer Firefighters . As well as acting as lookouts , they also follow a regeneration programme through natural pollination , using bees .They say that they are always seeking new members and can be contacted on 659 895 895 Check Out The Full Indepth Details Here: Costa Blanca | Fire Watch Patrols Increase
