The boat was spotted by a fishing boat at around 11 pm 11 miles off Santa Pola .The immigrants were taken out of their boat and carried to Alicante port while a maritime rescue boat towed the dinghy .A helicopter was mobilised but was not required ,Eight Red Cross volunteers helped , including translators , ambulance drivers and healthcare emergency experts . All of those in the dinghy were male and their ages ranged from 25 to 35 although one claimed to be 17 and most claim to come from Algeria .They were all in good health and did not require health treatment .They were given clean clothes and food . The immigrants were then handed over to the National Police and were due to appear in court a few days later .This is the first case that the Red Cross has had to deal with this year .
