Residents in the Las Rotas and Montgo areas of Denia on the Spanish Costa Blanca are not happy at having to pay an extra tax for mains drainage in their water bills .Their anger is due to the fact that they don´t have any mains drainage . To add insult to injury these people suffered an extremely stressful time 2 years ago when constructors attempted to connect them , caused havoc in the process and then left them high and dry half way through the project .Often they were unable to access their homes because of the mayhem .So if anyone should know that they have no mains drainage then these people do .The battle to get this job completed has been going on ever since .There are still dangerous holes in their streets waiting to be filled in . So naturally when the regional government decide to add on an extra 40-120 euros for pipe maintenance , for pipes they are not using , then most people would see red .All of these homes still rely on septic tanks .Many people feel that as long as these tanks are well cared for , then they are extremely environmentally friendly . Now they want to know if they should take legal action against the government as individuals or as a group .Naturally they want to cut costs .They have set up a Residents Association so that they can all work together to solve the problem .
