The rubbish tip at Vallonga , Elche on the Spanish Costa Blanca , was the scene of a macabre discovery recently when the body of a newly born baby was found there .It was still attached to the placenta . The National Police revealed that the body was found by workers , who called in the authorities .Police arrived with a duty judge and a coroner .The little body was removed and sent to Alicante for a forensic report . There is now an investigation ongoing as to who gave birth and why the body was abandoned on the tip .They are checking hospitals and also places that actually send rubbish to this particular tip .This does cover quite a wide area .It might be possible to track the truck that brought the rubbish to that particular spot.The baby was bundled into a rucksack and that might give some clues . Naturally there are also concerns for the welfare of the mother who might bleed after the birth , especially if part of the placenta was left inside her .This is the second time this year that a body has been found on the tip at the Vallonga plant .In May the body of a man was found and it is thought that he had been sleeping rough and had been crushed inside a container by a container lorry .In Alcoy the body of a baby was found , it had been stabbed by its mother and was found in the rubbish container .
