A 64 year old British man collapsed in a bar in Orihuela recently and the ambulance was called to help him but they were unable to find the address that they had been given .It was then that a local police officer intervened to save the life of the man . The man who had collapsed was lying on the floor of the pub and showed no signs of breathing .The officers set to and gave him cardiac massage ( CPR ) for around 15 minutes while another police patrol guided the A and E doctors to the site . Once the emergency team arrived they continued with the CPR and the man came around . The police officer said that the man was in a critical condition and the emergency team rushed him to Torrevieja hospital .Once examined they decided that they didn´t have the facilities to treat him and he was moved to Alicante to have cardiac catheterisation. It seems that ambulances often have difficulty finding locations on Orihuela Costa and the police have had to guide them in very frequently . They do say that your recovery after a heart attack very much depends on where you are and how quickly you can be transported to facilities that can treat you .
