The Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has stated , at the weekend , that the Spanish economic crisis is over .He claims that the economy is on firm ground . His optimism is so great that he has revised the government´s growth figures for 2014 , saying that he expected them to reach 1.4% and that by the end of the year unemployment will have fallen by 24.9% . Rajoy was speaking after a cabinet meeting at which a new project to reform tax laws was approved .He went on to say that things were going far better than expected and that the economy was growing in strength because of its competitiveness .He was most upbeat about the current fall in the number of unemployed .He put this down to government policies . It appears that when the PP took office the unemployment rate was growing at 12% and now that is 7% .Does that mean that it is still growing ? He says that he predicted that 2014 would be a year of recovery .He also defended his policy of bailing out the banks with public money . Naturally the opposition has taken a very different view and calls the PP view ” prejudiced ” .They suggest that Rajoy walks the streets and speaks to workers , housewives , business people and the unemployed .Maybe he is wearing tinted spectacles .
