You can always tell when an election is coming up –the promises come in thick and fast .Now the Valencia government has said that it is going to construct 26 new schools around the region .This would provide spaces for 15,000 youngsters who at the moment are being taught in run down classrooms .They say that they are aiming to put the bids out to tender before the end of 2015 . Some of these schools had already been announced in previous years , some as long ago as 2009 .The press release has stated that of the 16 schools 10 will be put out to tender before the end of 2014 .Two of these schools are in Alicante province . A spokesperson for the department of education stated that the 10 previously unannounced schools are in Rojales , Guardamar de Segura , Sagunto , Torrevieja , Muro de Alcoy , Torrent , Petrer , San Fulgencio and Xirivella . The construction of these schools will get rid of 500 prefab classrooms .They have also said that quality infrastructure will be built .Parents Associations quite understandably hope that this time the regional government will keep its promise .Some of them have been included in lists before and so people are cynical about promises that are never kept .They are not celebrating yet .
