Collaboratively developed by some of the industry’s most notable names including Elmer Keith, Colonel D.B. Wesson and Phillip Sharpe, the .357 Magnum quickly became the quintessential self defense round. Offering improved penetration along with a flatter trajectory and limited recoil, the .357 Magnum soon became the most sought after cartridge by members of law enforcement. As the popularity of the cartridge continued to rise, so did the Smith & Wesson Model 27 or as it was more commonly referred to during the period – the Registered Magnum. Soon, the revolver was found everywhere from the hips of police officers on the mean streets of Kansas City, to Texas where legendary lawman Skeeter Skelton called the Model 27 “the best all-around handgun.” The F.B.I. employed them as well; even General George S. Patton carried one into battles during World War II. Now, shooters everywhere have a chance to own their own through this limited edition anniversary model. “Throughout the history of the company, Smith & Wesson has been a leader in many of the industry’s firsts,” said James Debney, President of Firearms Business for Smith & Wesson.

“Both the .357 Magnum and the Model 27 are living examples of this and they demonstrate our company’s innovative mindset and willingness to stretch the boundaries. The anniversary Model 27 is truly artwork on a steel canvas and it would be a welcome addition to anyone’s personal collection.” Constructed of carbon steel and built on a large N-Frame, this six-shot .357 Magnum/.38 S&W Special revolver is available with a 6 ½ – inch barrel and a bright blued finish. Across the revolver’s barrel, frame and cylinder, elaborate engraving gives the Model 27 a striking look and sense of purpose. The classic handgun comes with engraved square-butt walnut grips, pinned patridge front sight and a micro-adjustable rear sight.

Please set aside some time to help.

TRENTON, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- I’ve received a lot of feedback on the “50 Reasons a Black Bear Hunt is Needed in NJ” action alert that was posted earlier.

If you have an articulate friend whom you would like to introduce to gun rights activism please invite her or him to work with us show weekend whether or not that person is a current member.

It’s good to see that people find the issue engaging.

Volunteers please email Frank Hinson at mrwiznc2@aol.com

There are a number or reasons that justify the need for a bear hunt in New Jersey. Of course, public safety is paramount. The fact that black bears have a history of fatal attacks is evidence that it is an aspect of their nature that we can’t ignore, regardless of the frequency of attacks or where in North America they are reported to have occurred.

You may call him at at Home (704)372-8055, Cell (704)200-0513 with your preferred day and time(s) to be scheduled to work. About: Grass Roots North Carolina/Forum for Firearms Education is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization devoted to educating the public about trends which abridge the freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, and engaging in grass roots activism to preserve those freedoms. There are any numbers of causes for a black bear to attack; environmental, physical, bio/chemical, territorial or some other reason. There doesn’t appear to be answer we can rely on, any more than why humans attack other humans. Bears are wild creatures and this lends itself to an element of unpredictability. Perhaps the fact that NJ had less than 100 bears in the 1970s and only a few hundred in the early 1990s has helped to keep a safe distance between people and bears. Today the estimate is nearly 3500 bears, most of which are in the northwest portion of the state. Bears have been seen in all 21 NJ counties. The number of reported incidents that threaten human safety has doubled since 2005. Bears are breaking into homes, causing school lockdowns, killing pets, killing livestock, have been found swimming in backyard pools and one even scattered a parade in northern NJ. There have even been reports of black bears attacking a few people this year. The details of these encounters have been reported in the press.

The point is that a bear hunt will HELP to prevent a NJ resident from being added to the Fatal Attack List by reducing the bear population and freeing up space for bears to recede into the wilds. Keep in mind that although it is natural for even habituated bears to avoid humans there have been instances of attacks on humans by bears that were regarded as habituated or “nuisance” bears.

This project involved several high profile anti-gun-rights advocates, but no one from the firearms community. Traver is clearly not the man the head the most powerful firearms policing agency. His anti-gun bias illustrates a clear conflict of interest on his part and his nomination proves that Barack Obama is openly hostile to your gun rights, despite his contrary words. Dear Senator: President Obama’s recent nomination of anti-gunner Andrew Traver to the post of Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives constitutes a conflict of interest. Anyone as clearly hostile to the Second Amendment as Traver has no business being allowed to head the most powerful firearms policing agency. That would be tantamount to giving a fox full charge over the proverbial henhouse.

These bills now are now are before the House of Representatives for consideration. However, because the November election which resulted in the change of party power, the Democratic controlled House of Representatives recently announced the possible cancellation of the November lame-duck voting schedule thus killing both pro-gun initiatives.

SB239, sponsored by State Senators Shannon Jones (R-7) and Tim Shaffer (R-31), would eliminate the current confusing standards of carrying a firearm in a motor vehicle. In addition, the proposal would also allow permit holders to carry a firearm for self-defense in a restaurant that serves alcohol, provided they are not consuming, thus eliminating another “victim zone” in Ohio.

As reported earlier, Ohio has overly burdensome stipulations regarding how a concealed firearm must be carried in a motor vehicle.

Current law specifies that a firearm must be either be: 1. In a holster secured on the person. 2. In a closed case, bag, box, or other container that is in plain sight and that has a lid, a cover, or a closing mechanism with a zipper, snap, or buckle, which must be opened for a person to gain access to the handgun.

NRA Strongly Opposes Gun Grabber Andrew Traver to Head BATFE NOV 21, 2010 05:35P.M. NRA Strongly Opposes The Nomination Of Andrew Traver to Head BATFE Calls On President Obama To Withdraw The Nomination. NRA Opposes The Nomination Of Andrew Traver to Head BATFE Both IACP and the Joyce Foundation are names synonymous with promoting a variety of gun control schemes at the federal and state levels. Most of the individuals involved in this project were prominent gun control activists and lobbyists. The IACP report, generated with Traver’s help, called on Congress to ban thousands of commonly owned firearms by misrepresenting them as “assault weapons,” as well as calling for bans on .50 caliber rifles and widely used types of ammunition. The report also suggests that Congress should regulate gun shows out of existence and should repeal the privacy protections of the Tiahrt Amendment—all efforts strongly opposed by the NRA and its members. Traver also participated in an extremely deceptive NBC Chicago report (http://tiny.cc/m93di ) in which he referred to “the growing frequency of gang members and drug dealers using heavy caliber military-type weapons” and described them as if they were machine guns: “Pull the trigger and you can mow people down.”

National Rifle Association Charlotte, NC --(Ammoland.com)- Statement From NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox The NRA strongly opposes President Obama’s nomination of Andrew Traver as director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).

Traver and his agents provided the reporter with a fully automatic AK47, with which she was unable to hit the target. He then said that stray bullets are “one of the main problems with having stuff like this available to the gangs.”

Traver has been deeply aligned with gun control advocates and anti-gun activities.

As the Agent-in-Charge of Chicago’s BATFE office, Traver knows that fully automatic firearms are not available through normal retail channels—the opposite of what was implied in the report.

This makes him the wrong choice to lead an enforcement agency that has almost exclusive oversight and control over the firearms industry, its retailers and consumers.
