Since Heeding God’s Call got no traction from their failed attempt to attack Clyde’s, they’ve taken their show to Prince George’s County to protest retailer Realco Guns.

Heeding God’s Call Pledges Half Hearted Attempt To Protest Realco Guns

Long time readers will recall that way back in 2007, Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH staged a high profile protest at Realco that was amply countered by MSI and other pro-gun groups from both Maryland and Virginia.

JUN 08, 2011 06:51P.M. Heeding God’s Call Pledges Half Hearted Attempt To Protest Realco Guns Every Monday

Now, Heeding God’s Call is picking up where Jackson’s group left off by promising to protest at Realco every Monday as they did this past Monday, June 6th. Misplaced Angst? We wonder if the angst from protest-group Heeding God’s Call over lawful gun sales in Prince George’s County would be better aimed at the headquarters of BATFE. This tiny gun control group – best known for tugging at the tired coat-tails of Jesse Jackson’s failed gun control movement - is upset that a lawful Maryland dealer…legally sells guns. Despite any evidence - at all – that Realco Arms is performing illegal transfer of firearms to prohibited persons, the group intends to protest this dealer weekly. The group claims that Realco allows highly illegal socalled “straw sales” of arms to criminals, yet provides no evidence to back their claims. We here at MSI think straw sales are a serious matter. If Heeding God’s Call - or anyone - has evidence that any group is knowingly allowing straw sales, we encourage them to immediately report it to law enforcement.

Forget color coordinated protest signs – make a difference and call the Maryland State Police Straw Buyers Hotline at 1888-637-7274. Today. Of course, we do not expect that phone to ring anytime soon. It’s much easier to make up numbers, shout out accusations and make noise than it is to go after the criminals and true purveyors of crime in our society.

Maryland Shall Issue Maryland -–(Ammoland.com)- As you’ll recall, Heeding God’s Call, the anti-gun organization of “faith leaders” based in Philadelphia, attempted to organize several protests of Clyde’s Sports Shop back during the winter.

Which leads us to a suggestion for the good people of Heeding God’s Call: start asking tough questions of the Department of Justice and the ATF, who we now learn have knowingly allowed and assisted in the illegal sales of pistols and rifles to Mexican Drug Cartels. Recent congressional testimony, ATF agent admissions and whistleblowers have all provided evidence of an operation managed from the ATF and DoJ to give guns to drug cartels – all “to see where they end up.”

They finally were able to put together a half-hearted event on December 11th that turned into one of the biggest business days for Clyde’s when gun owners and other long-time customers came out to support the shop on their “customer appreciation day.”

So where did the ATF guns end up?

Some of those guns have been found at the scene of a dead us Law Enforcement Officer in the United States, and just this week we hear claims others were used in a battle that disabled a military helicopter in Mexico. ATF insiders claim thoudsands of guns were transferred to the cartels and that hundreds of people may have been killed by them.

Cannon Scout Series Gun Safe the Ultimate Value in Security JUN 08, 2011 06:16P.M.

We understand that Heeding God’s Call may not have heard this news, because with the exception of CBS News, the Mexican press and a few other US news outlets, few dare question the Department of Justice on this matter. But we will, Congress will, and so too will millions of Americans when they hear the details of the international and national laws broken by our government all to “see where the guns end up.”

Cannon Scout Series Gun Safe the Ultimate Value in Security

As if there was any question of how the cartels would use thousands of illegal guns… If Heeding God’s Call wishes to take on a source of mass illegal straw sales of dangerous arms to dangerous people, they need look no further than the ATF. If they want to make a real difference, then they should shine light on the darkness of “Project GunRunner” and it’s “Fast and Furious” operation that knowingly deilvered arms to the cartels. If Heeding God’s Call wishes to take on the DoJ, they will also have a partner in MSI. Until then, though…it’s just a lot of shouting into the wind.”

bear. Another showed the bear standing on top of a picnic table while people sat at the table.” Based on this information and photos, a Game Commission Wildlife Conservation Officer (WCO) was dispatched to the scene. Arriving at the park after closing hours, the WCO found the bear in the picnic area. “After trying to chase the bear from the area, the WCO decided a more aggressive approach was needed and fired non-lethal rubber buckshot from his shotgun, striking the animal twice,” Schweitzer said. “The effect of the buckshot was positive, causing the animal to run into the woods. However, its dispersal was only temporary and calls from the park personnel began to come in about the animal being back. Efforts to stop the human behavior that lead to this situation, or trap the bear for relocation, were unsuccessful while reports of the bear approaching people continued, so the only prudent thing left to do was to remove the animal.”

Pennsylvania Game Commission HARRISBURG, PA --(Ammoland.com)- Pennsylvania Game Commission Northeast Region officials today announced a black bear that had become habituated to being hand-fed by people at MerliSarnoski Park, Carbondale, Lackawanna County, was euthanized by agency officers Saturday, June 4, because of escalating concern over public safety.

The bear, a 75-pound male, appeared to be in excellent physical condition, and had most likely been chased away by an adult female in preparation for this summer’s breeding season. “Despite the bear’s apparent young age, there still remained a potential for future conflicts once this unwanted behavior became established,” said Mark Ternent, Game Commission bear biologist. “Had this bear not been removed, any subsequent encounters with people may have been perceived as an opportunity to gain food based on its conditioning.”

“Removing this bear is most unfortunate, but necessary given this particular bear’s habituation to approaching people for food,” said Steve Schweitzer, Game Commission Northeast Region Office director. “Black bears have a natural instinct to avoid humans. A habituated bear that has lost its natural fear of humans and begins to associate people with providing food is the type of bear we do not want in the resident bear population. It would be irresponsible not to remove such a bear after we observed the bear repeatedly confronting people to obtain food. That is why wildlife officials across North America warn that ‘a fed bear is a dead bear.’”

Since 2003, it has been illegal to intentionally feed black bears in Pennsylvania. The feeding ban was put in place to avoid habituating black bears and to prevent situations in which an individual feeding bears creates a nuisance situation for his or her neighbors. Additionally, the unintentional feeding of bears can result in a written warning that, if ignored, can result in a citation for subsequent offenses. Anyone cited for illegally feeding a bear is subject to a fine of $100 to $200, if convicted. “Unfortunately, this bear ended up in the wrong area among people who did not respect it,” Schweitzer said. “We have been steadfast in our message, year after year, that feeding wildlife, especially black bears, will only end in trouble. A black bear, regardless of its size, is a very powerful animal that can turn a seemingly innocent encounter into a serious situation.”

A few weeks ago, the Game Commission Northeast Region Office was made aware of a bear visiting the beach and picnic area of the park, rummaging through garbage cans looking for easy meals. During this time, people began feeding the bear, including some fishermen who tossed bluegills or perch to the bear. “Bears are intelligent animals, and this one was no exception,” Schweitzer said. “Within days, the bear quickly learned to connect people with food. Soon the distance between bear and humans went from yards to feet to finally inches. The most recent reports were that some individuals were hand-feeding the bear.

classes.

An open gate shifter found on the left side of the handlebars allows the rider to easily switch between High, Low, Neutral, Reverse and Park. This is also easy to see on the multifunction LCD display, which offers dual trip meter, speedometer, hour meter, odometer and clock, in addition to the gear selection, fuel level indicator, On-Command™ indicator and EPS and fuel injection indicator lights.

Also new for 2012, both machines are now being assembled in the U.S.A. for worldwide distribution out of Yamaha’s Newnan, Ga., factory. The new 2012 Grizzly 700 and 550 receive new textured plastic body panels that increase durability and decrease wear over the life of the machines. New Maxxis tires with a tough, aggressive tread pattern add to the machines’ unmatched performance in extreme terrain. The updated suspension includes new gas charged rear shocks with a high quality damping feel and improved bump absorption performance. The front suspension has also been updated and optimized to match the rear.

Comfort and convenience were also incorporated throughout the Grizzly 700 and 550. The air box is located on the top of the engine providing easier service access for the rider, and the fuel tank is placed under the seat for maximum centralization of mass. Keeping the ride comfortable while also allowing for maximum terrainability is fully independent and adjustable front and rear suspension with 7.1 inches of travel up front and a class-leading 9.5 inches in the rear. The Grizzly’s wide-arc A-arms provide 11.8 inches of more usable ground clearance. What’s more, the Grizzly 700 and 550 offer unmatched braking feel and power with fourwheel hydraulic disc brakes engaged by separate front and rear controls with hydraulic master cylinders mounted on the handle bars. The rear brake also has a right foot pedal control.

Both Grizzlies are offered with Yamaha’s industry-leading Electric Power Steering (EPS). Yamaha was the first manufacturer to put EPS on an ATV – a still relatively new technology that makes for a more comfortable ride and reduces fatigue especially in rough riding and over long periods of time. Yamaha’s EPS system has the perfect balance of light steering and allowing the rider to still feel feedback from the terrain. As the rider turns the handlebars and the torque- and speedsensing EPS system detects the twisting force put on the handlebars and wheels, the electric motor then responds with the appropriate amount of assistance. The harder you turn, the more the EPS assists.

The Grizzly also has a thick, plush seat and full floorboards for comfort and protection from the elements. The design of the floorboards also allows for better drainage of mud and water. Two water resistant storage boxes — one under the seat and another in the right front fender — offer plenty of storage. This is in addition to the 99 pounds and 187 pounds of carrying capacity on the front and rear racks, respectively, and the 1,322 pounds of towing. The ATV’s SecureMount rack system offers superior fit and finish with Genuine Yamaha Accessories that are designed to fit with factory quality.

In addition to EPS, Yamaha’s top of the line Grizzly ATVs boast the industry’s toughest Ultramatic automatic transmission system. The transmission’s dual speed gearing makes full use of the powerband under a variety of riding situations, and the automatic centrifugal clutch maintains constant belt tension for reduced belt wear and the industry’s most natural feeling all-wheel engine braking.

The Grizzly 700 and Grizzly 550 are also available without EPS. The 2012 models are available in Hunter Green, Steel Blue and Realtree™ AP Camouflage. In addition, the 2012 Grizzly 700 FI with EPS is available as a Special Edition in Metallic Sandstone with cast aluminum wheels, painted body panels and special graphics.

Yamaha’s three-way On-Command system, featuring push-button 2WD, 4WD and 4WD with differential lock, provides all-four-wheel-drive. The push-button system is easy to engage giving the rider control and confidence over the machine’s power delivery. The Grizzly’s engines feature a forged piston for reduced weight and added durability, while an aluminum cylinder body with ceramic composite coating offers reduced weight, increased cooling ability and additional wear resistance. The roller rocker arms reduce friction in the valve train, which allows the engine to rev more freely leading to better overall performance and improved throttle response. Of course, the ultra-convenient electric start feature continues to make firing the liquid-cooled, four-valve SOHC powerplant to life a snap.

(Specs, price and availability subject to change without notice.) About Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A. Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., (YMUS), a leader in the motorsports market, makes the toughest, most capable and versatile ATV and Sideby-Side vehicles. The company’s ever-expanding product offerings also include motorcycles, outboard motors, personal watercraft, snowmobiles, boats, outdoor power equipment, race kart engines, accessories, apparel and much more. YMUS products are sold through a nationwide network of dealers in the United States.

The Yamaha Fuel Injection system (YFI) improves throttle response throughout the powerband, helping the rider take advantage of the Grizzly’s low- to mid-range power. YFI offers unmatched performance at high elevation and in frigid weather as the system is able to detect and compensate for changes in altitude and temperature. The more precise fuel delivery offered by the YFI means clean power delivery, better throttle response and improved fuel economy under a multitude of riding situations. In addition, YFI means no choke and easier cold weather starting.

Headquartered in Cypress, Calif., since its incorporation in 1976, Yamaha also has facilities in Wisconsin and Georgia, as well as factory operations in Tennessee and Georgia. New Hampshire Governor Signs Knife Rights Preemption Bill

JUN 08, 2011 02:36P.M. Wisconsin Constitutional Carry Update

KnifeRights.org Gilbert, AZ --(Ammoland.com)- New Hampshire Governor John Lynch has signed into law the Knife Rights backed Knife Law Preemption Bill, HB 544. New Hampshire becomes the third state in the nation to enact Knife Law Preemption. Congratulations to NH Rep. Jenn Coffey who sponsored this bill and who worked tirelessly with her colleagues, local advocates and our lobbyist to ensure the bill passed unanimously in both houses of the New Hampshire legislature. Rep. Coffey’s efforts enacted a strong preemption law which will protect knife owners from senseless local ordinances well into the future. Wisconsin Carry Rep. Coffey won Knife Rights’ Freedom’s Edge award last year for her successful effort to repeal New Hampshire’s prohibitions on switchblades, dirks, daggers and stilettos.

Wisconsin --(Ammoland.com)- First, I really want to extend a huge amount of credit where credit is due. Vicki McKenna, radio talk show host on WIBA in Madison and WISN in Milwaukee has been a HUGE advocate for the constitutional right to carry going back years.

Knife Rights’ National Knife Law Preemption Campaign started successfully last year in Arizona. Earlier this year Utah enacted knife law preemption. Preemption prevents the creation of, or eliminates, a patchwork of ordinances and rules which serve to confuse or entrap those traveling within or through the state. A person traveling in a state without preemption laws could be charged with a violation of local law when they have no intention of violating the law. Preemption ensures citizens only have to know and abide by state law.

Vicki has had me on her show several times to talk about open-carry and she supports constitutional carry as well. Given the damage that supposedly conservative talk show hosts in Milwaukee have done to the cause, Vicki has been a beacon of honesty, fact and truth in the concealed carry debate.

Preemption allows Knife Rights to focus its legislative efforts at the state level where it can more easily succeed in improving the legal environment for knife owners or opposing efforts to impose further restrictions on knives.

If you haven’t already, please take the opportunity to send Vicki a message and short note and THANK her for her logical AND principled support of the fundamental right to self-defense.

Second order of business. Word out of Madison: Last week Scott Walker stated that he felt that any concealed carry bill that reaches his desk SHOULD include permits and mandatory training. He DID NOT say he would veto constitutional carry. Governor Walker has previously said he would sign constitutional carry.

About: Wisconsin Carry, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation and reclamation of the rights of law-abiding Wisconsin residents to carry in the manner of their choosing. We believe that “open carry” and “concealed carry” are choices to be made by law-abiding citizens based on their situation and preference. Wisconsin Carry, like many gun-rights organizations in Wisconsin, is investing a great deal of resources to get Wisconsin law changed to allow concealed carry this next legislative session by proposing Constitutional Carry. Wisconsin Carry, Inc. will continue to use legal recourse to deter unlawful treatment of law-abiding Wisconsin residents who currently exercise their right to open carry, and soon will exercise their right to concealed carry in Wisconsin. Visit: www.wisconsincarry.org

Under the current bill Senate Bill 93, with amendments, which Wisconsin Carry has encouraged our members to support, constitutional carry would exist on private property and in non-populated areas away from “Gun Free School Zones” (there is a state and federal law prohibiting carry in school zones without a permit). That means if you are a law-abiding citizen and want to carry on your own property or private property you wouldn’t have to register with the government and pay a permit tax to do so. The “optional” permit which allows people to carry IN school zones does require a permit and background check. Though Wisconsin Carry doesn’t ultimately support that kind of restriction, because there is a state and federal law in place we believe this current bill is “the best we can do” and wish to see it passed with that optional permit before the legislature deals with recall elections this summer.

Tags: Concealed Carry, Concealed Carry Laws, Constitutional Carry, Gun Free Zones, Gun Politics, Wisconsin, Wisconsin Carry

Because of the Gun Free School Zone’s, in heavily populated area’s where those zones virtually blanket entire parts of a city, anyone who wishes to carry in an urban area would need to get the optional permit if they wanted to carry while driving or carry while walking down the street. Senate bill 93 has received sharp criticism from Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn because it doesn’t require mandatory permits and background checks, BUT as virtually ALL of Milwaukee’s near-north and near-south side is completely covered by school zones. ANYONE in these high-crime area’s who chooses to carry concealed WILL have to get a permit and background check. Despite Wisconsin Carry having to compromise on the optional permit for school zones, that requirement offers Chief Flynn what he was asking for.

shooting sports industry. His Fernandina Beach, Fla.-based firm has worked directly with most state wildlife agencies to help them communicate the economic importance of hunting and fishing and how to improve license structures and pricing. For industry, Southwick Associates helps individual companies understand their place in the market, identify new products and sales opportunities, and improve efficiencies and boost profits.

“The awards are well deserved. NSSF research would not be where it is today without them.” The honors were presented at the Shooting Sports Summit, which is taking place today and tomorrow in Louisville, Ky. Leaders from the firearms industry and conservation fields are discussing the findings of a new joint research project by Responsive Management and Southwick Associates. The project focused on activities that compete with hunting and target shooting.

Southwick has helped NSSF grow its trade statistics program through both long-range and special one-time research projects. These efforts have benefited NSSF’s First Shots introduction-to-shooting program and Models of Success effort that seeks to introduce newcomers to hunting and target shooting.

“Responsive Management is very appreciative of the opportunity to have worked with the NSSF for more than 20 years, and I am honored to be given this award,” said Duda. “It is especially gratifying to be recognized by the NSSF, as I have always found them to be one of the best run organizations we have ever worked for. In accepting this award, I want to acknowledge the contributions and support of my entire staff at Responsive Management.”

High points in Southwick Associates’ work for NSSF have been developing the first index of hunting license sales, tracking of shooting range activities and trends, the first estimates of lifetime expenditures expected from new hunters and target shooters, the first annual survey of firearms retailers to identify trends and, last year, a groundbreaking study that identified hunter churn rates and described their lifestyles, the findings of which will help guide recruitment-and-retention efforts for years to come.

Said Southwick, “Helping develop the NSSF’s trade statistics program has been professionally rewarding and fun. The NSSF has provided us the support needed to develop new research tools that help companies boost profits and increase hunting and shooting sports participation. We are sincerely grateful to the NSSF for its recognition and for the opportunity to serve the industry.”

“The National Rifle Association (NRA) strongly supported Senate Bill 321, legislation similar to that passed in Oklahoma, Louisiana, and eleven other states to prevent employers from enforcing policies that restrict employees’ ability to transport and store firearms in their locked, privately-owned vehicles while parked at work,” said Tara Mica Reilly, Legislative Liaison for Texas for the National Rifle Association.

Austin, Texas –-(Ammoland.com)- Today, State Senator Glenn Hegar (R, of Katy) announced that both the Texas Senate and House of Representatives have passed the conference committee report for Senate Bill 321, which strengthens and protects the Second Amendment Rights of hard-working Texas. The legislation is now on its way to the desk of Texas Governor Rick Perry, where his signature will effect its final passage.

“We applaud Senator Hegar’s efforts in getting this measure passed by the Texas Legislature and thank him for helping prevent hard-working Texans from having to choose between their jobs and their right to personal protection during their commutes, and to take part in lawful hunting and recreational activities before and after work,” Reilly added.

The legislation, once signed into law, will prevent employers from adopting policies that deny Second Amendment protections to their employees who wish to store legally owned firearms in their locked vehicles while at work. Hegar’s bill was filed in response to a number of instances across the state where employees have been denied the right to protect themselves while traveling to and from work because their employers have adopted overly restrictive policies. This was the third legislative session Hegar has worked to pass the measure.

Hegar said that Senate Bill 321 is common-sense legislation that balances the rights of both employer and employee. Under the new law, employees will regain their express right to store legally owned firearm(s) and ammunition at their place of work, and with it, the ability to protect themselves as they travel to and from their jobs. Employers will be protected from any lawsuit resulting from the use of a firearm stored on their property, and they can still forbid an employee from carrying a firearm in company owned vehicles. Under his new law, employers will also retain the right to prohibit firearms in their offices.

“I want to thank my legislative colleagues both in the Senate and the Texas House for supporting this important legislation,” said Senator Hegar. “I especially want to thank State Representative Tim Kleinschmidt (R, Lexington), who sponsored the bill in the Texas House of Representatives and who worked tirelessly to help ensure that it received the strong support of House members.”

“Responsible and law-abiding gun owners should not be forced to choose between personal protection and protecting their jobs,” said Hegar. “Once Governor Perry signs Senate Bill 321 into law, no hard-working Texan will again face that difficult and unfair choice,” he concluded.

“Senator Hegar has once again demonstrated why he’s the Texas State Rifle Association’s (TSRA) Doc Brown Legislator of the Year award winner,” said Alice Tripp, Legislative Director of the Texas State Rifle Association, the National Rifle Association’s state affiliate. “After seven long years, the bill has finally crossed the finished line! Senate Bill 321 is clear and finally passed. Thanks to Senator Hegar, Texas commuters will be protected on their way to and from the workplace,” Tripp added.

Senator Hegar served two terms in the Texas House of Representatives and now represents Senate District 18 in the Texas Senate. He isa sixth generation Texan, and earns a living farming rice and corn on land that has been in his family since the mid 1800′s. He currently resides in Katy, Texas with his wife Dara, and their three children, Claire, Julia, and Jonah.

“This law will help Texans regain their constitutional right to protect themselves as they travel to and from work,” said Hegar. “When an employer bars firearms on company property, even those hidden in locked vehicles, they rob their employees of their Second Amendment Rights and, even more importantly, of their right to safety,” said Senator Hegar.

Tags: Gun Bills, Guns & Cars, Pro Gun News, Pro Gun Republicans, Self Defense, Texas, Texas State Rifle Association

Hegar said that millions of Texans spend hours each week in their cars and trucks as they commute to and from work. These commutes may be comfortable and safe for many, but others are not so lucky, as their daily drives take them through dangerous neighborhoods. Unfortunately, many Texans have been forced to make the choice between adhering to their employer’s policy prohibiting storage of their legally owned firearm in their locked vehicle on company property, non-adherence to which is oftentimes grounds for termination, or protecting themselves by having their legal firearm available to them as they make their daily commute.

HB 2791 passed out of the House Judiciary Committee. Representative Andy Olsen, usually a supporter of gun rights voted no, but Representative Chris Garrett, who is not in any way a reliable friend of gun rights, voted yes as a courtesy for a Republican rep who was out of the room at the time. 2791 was sent to the Ways and Means Committee where it currently lies, bruised and bleeding by the side of the road while legislators step over it and pretend it does not exist. It is not officially dead, but without some action soon it will die of neglect. The State Police will continue to mismanage background checks and gun buyers will continue to pay twice for a “service” they never requested. Even some of the early supporters of this bill started to get cold feet when the public employee’s unions came out in force to proclaim that if a few union employees at the State Police ID unit lost their jobs, Oregon’s economy would collapse.

Oregon Firearms Federation Legislative Update JUN 08, 2011 11:46A.M. Oregon Firearms Federation Legislative Update

HB 2792 passed the House by a wide margin and was also sent to Floyd Prozanski’s sausage factory. There, any reference to recognizing other states’ permits was removed. Inserted was the motorcycle language from HB 2797 and new restrictions on felon’s abilities to get gun rights restoration. This issue has been an obsession with Prozanski ever since 2009 when SB 603 passed. 603 allowed felons to go to court and make a case for why they should have their firearms rights restored. From the moment that bill passed (with no opposition in either house) Prozanski has been trying to reverse it. This is all the more odd since the bill was crafted by and approved by and voted for by…Floyd Prozanski. 2792 will next go to the full Senate for a vote. If it passes there (which is likely given that the two Republicans on the committee gave their blessings to this latest “gut and stuff”) it has to go back to the House for “concurrence.” The House can refuse to concur in which case a “conference committee” will be created to craft a compromise. We have repeatedly requested the key players to consider an amendment that will move “recognition” forward and defuse the gun haters argument against it.

Oregon Firearms Federation Salem, Oregon --(Ammoland.com)- We are now entering into that time in the legislative session where tempers fray, rational thinking is in short supply and really bad things happen. Now that our session has a statutory ending date, the last minute backstabbing, bill-stuffing and childish retribution is highly compressed. While following what has happened to gun bills in 2011 would be better illustrated with a flow chart, we’ll do our best to explain where we stand now. Although we had quite a few bills introduced in 2011, four actually made it through part of the legislative process. They were: • HB 2787, a bill to protect the privacy of CHL holders.

The gun haters primary, stated objection to recognizing other states’ handgun licenses is that other states do not have the lofty standards we do when issuing a CHL. We have crafted an amendment and have been distributing it to key legislators for months that instead simply allows residents of any state to apply for our license. We still believe this is a positive strategy but there is a serious case of “not-invented-here” in our legislature and it’s unlikely any politician will suggest this simple commonsense amendment.

• HB 2791, a bill to turn background checks over to the Feds and save gun buyers some money. • HB 2792, a bill to recognize other state’s concealed handgun licenses and, • HB 2797, a bill to define how a person may lawfully transport a firearm on a motorcycle, ATV or snowmobile.

HB 2797 is the most pathetic example of legislative nonsense. In 2009, we drafted and passed legislation to define the term “readily accessible” for the purposes of transporting handguns for those without concealed handgun licenses. Our language included definitions for transport on a motorcycle. The motorcycle language was mistakenly removed from the final version, so right now we have no legal and practical way to transport a handgun on a motorcycle without a CHL. HB 2797 fixed that problem, but also clarified how to lawfully carry on a snowmobile or ATV. This was NOT in any way a controversial bill. It passed the House without a single no vote. Then it was sent to Prozanski to be turned into a Frankenstein’s monster. We have to give him credit, he did a heck of a

Early in the session we were informed by an unimpeachable source that Floyd Prozanski planned to insert a poison pill in any gun bill that came to his committee, unless he planned to kill the bill outright. This information turned out to be painfully accurate. So here’s where we are at. HB 2787 passed overwhelmingly in the House and was killed by Prozanski in Senate Judiciary. Although scheduled for a work session, Prozanski simply ignored the bill and it died on Wednesday.

job. That bill now bans guns on any school or college property, a goal that has been Ginny Burdick’s delusional fantasy for years. It’s interesting to note that in the past, Prozanski voted against the same legislation because he knew it could not pass the House and he did not want to force Senators to go on the record supporting such lunacy when it had no chance of passing. Now, with the exact same dynamics. Prozanski did a 180 and passed this garbage out of his committee, forcing Senate Democrats to go on record with almost no chance of the bill ever becoming law. We’ve been told that Burdick has been haunting Prozanski about this issue and that might explain his otherwise inexplicable about-face, but maybe it was this brilliant letter from “Ceasefire Oregon.”

Why is Walker Harpooning Constitutional Carry

They repeatedly testified that there were three murders committed by CHL holders in schools. While there is no evidence in any of the cases they mentioned that the killers were actually CHL holders, what is interesting is this; none of the cases were in Oregon, they had to search nationally to find three incidents, all happened in states where it is already illegal to have a gun on school property and not a single one of these incidents would have been prevented by the enactment of their demented “no self-defense-in-schools” policy. But it looks like this was enough for Prozanski and his fellow Democrats on the committee, Bonamici and Dingfelder. Who needs facts when you can always fall back on hysteria? (The bill also includes language to keep CHL info private. Prozanski told us he could not move a bill that did this because his caucus did not approve, but he did put it into this bill which is sure to fail. Confused yet? )

JUN 08, 2011 11:29A.M. Why is Walker Harpooning Constitutional Carry? Scott Walker – Friend of Gun Owners?

The Republicans on the committee, Doug Whitsett and Jeff Kruse responded with a “minority report” which is basically an alternative bill that the Senate can vote on. Neither discussed any element of the proposed legislation with OFF, and while their proposals were ambitious, even Senator Kruse, on a local talk show, admitted it had no chance of approval. Given that their proposal was 34 pages, that it gave almost every anti-gunner something to hate, and was hastily and poorly drafted, this may be no net loss. The minority report had plenty of progun language in it, but also included things that really made no sense, like making it a crime for someone under 18 to have a concealed firearm on school grounds. Last time we checked, that was already illegal.

Wisconsin Gun Owners Wisconsin --(Ammoland.com)- Remember the article a few weeks ago warning of Scott Walker and Jeff Fitzgerald conspiring to sell out your Constitutional rights? So who are those in leadership that are scheming to kill Constitutional Carry? Scott Walker and Jeff Fitzgerald. You read that right: Scott Walker and Jeff Fitzgerald are trying to sell out your rights because they want to appease big government liberals so that you have to beg for permission from the government to carry your firearm.

On the other hand, the House Judiciary Committee modified a Senate Bill (SB 347) that was intended to protect private info of domestic violence victims and now includes protection for CHL holders. House Reps Mary Nolan and Carolyn Tomei, staunch liberal feminists voted against the bill in committee because it protects CHL holders. They would have voted yes to protect victims until the bill also protected victims who took steps to protect themselves. There are some people we will never quite understand.

They want to turn your rights into privileges that they can control. Well this past week, Scott Walker made good on those intentions. Walker issued a statement Friday saying any bill that reaches his desk should include a permit and training. His spokesman stopped short of saying the Governor would veto anything less.

So that’s where we stand today. 2797 and 2792 will be on the Senate floor soon. 2791 remains on life support in the Ways and Means Committee and Floyd has managed to artfully muck up everything that came from the House with wide majorities. And now we get to do this every year.

Why is Scott Walker so afraid of your right to protect yourself?

Though Coates shares many similarities with other high school seniors, his talents and accomplishments recently made him stand out among his peers.

Coates’ strong work ethic helped him maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 4.25 for all of his classes throughout his high school career. He plans to begin his studies at Central Virginia Community College and then transfer to Virginia Tech to pursue a major in veterinary medicine and a minor in wildlife biology and conservation.

For his hard work and dedication in the classroom, his community and the conservation field, Coates has earned NWTF’s 2011 national scholarship, sponsored by Mossy Oak.

Coates and his family also will receive a trip to the 2012 NWTF National Convention and Sport Show, Feb. 9-12, in Nashville, Tenn., where he will be recognized for his achievement.

“Hunting has helped me to grow into a young man who continues to learn about the greatness of God’s creation,” said Coates. “My family and I strive to provide habitats that will nurture the growth and development of all game species. I am dedicated to providing an investment for future generations to enjoy the outdoors as much as I do.”

About the NWTF: The National Wild Turkey Federation is the leader in upland wildlife habitat conservation in North America. A nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving the wild turkey and preserving our hunting heritage, the NWTF and its volunteers work closely with state, federal and provincial wildlife agencies and other partners.

Coates, of Concord, Va., attends Rustburg High School. He was selected from a group of 44 state scholarship recipients to be named the national winner. The combination of NWTF local, state and national funds awarded to Coates totaled $13,000. To help the next generation of conservation leaders pursue their education, the NWTF makes more than $500,000 in scholarships available to high school seniors each year. NWTF chapters have awarded more than $3.3 million in scholarship money to deserving high school students across the country since 1999.

Through these dynamic partnerships, the NWTF and its members helped restore wild turkey populations throughout North America, spending more than $331 million to conserve nearly 16 million acres of habitat. Wild turkeys and hundreds of other species of upland wildlife, including quail, deer, grouse, pheasant and songbirds, benefit from this improved habitat.

“The future conservation work of outstanding students like Ben ensures we can continue to enjoy the outdoors and the longstanding traditions we hold dear,” said Christine Rolka, NWTF director of education. “We are pleased to support Ben as he furthers his education and look forward to hearing about his many successes.”

The NWTF also brings new conservationists and hunters into the fold through outdoor education events and its Women in the Outdoors, Wheelin’ Sportsmen, JAKES and Xtreme JAKES youth outreach programs. Dedicated NWTF volunteers introduce about 100,000 people to the outdoors through these programs every year.

An exceptional performer in academics, Coates has served on his student council and been a member of the National Honor Society and the National FFA Organization. He also has earned the coveted Boy Scout of America (BSA) Eagle Scout rank and membership in BSA’s Order of the Arrow.

Founded in 1973, the NWTF is headquartered in Edgefield, S.C., and has local chapters in every state and Canada. According to many state and federal agencies, the restoration of the wild turkey is arguably the greatest conservation success story in North America’s wildlife history. Of course you don’t, and while people like you and me think the answers to those questions are pretty obvious, there are other countries in the world where they think it’s a great idea. And guess what? The governments of some of those countries are now spending millions of dollars in the United States to change our system to be more like theirs.

A recent report showed that the European Union, by way of its “human rights” fund, has been shelling out over $30 million a year on leftist causes in America.

I will keep you posted on anything else I hear about this story, as I’m sure you are as interested in it as I am. For Liberty,

• Global warming propaganda. Dudley Brown Executive Director

• International criminal courts. • Anti-gun campaigns.

About: The National Association for Gun Rights was founded in 2001 to serve as a grassroots gun rights group focusing on building state-level gun rights groups and lobbying for pro-gun federal legislation. Brown has been a gun lobbyist for more than 17 years. Visit: www.nationalgunrights.org

All of it having money funneled from ineffective, socialist-styled regimes that have proven to be failures. Think about that for a minute. While anti-gunners like the Brady Campaign whine and cry about how much money the supposed “gun lobby” has, groups like theirs are being funded by European GOVERNMENTS!

The European Union’s own Commission accounts also show that untold millions of dollars have gone to “unnamed individual opinion formers” in the United States.

Opinion formers. Funded by the European Union..? AMMOLAND.COM SHOOTING SPORTS NEWS I would like to say I’m surprised by this, but the fact of the matter is, I have been trying to warn people for well over a year about things like this.

Joe Mantegna To Receive 2011 Courage in Entertainment Award

Remember the UN Small Arms Treaty I’ve been telling you about? I think you know how that fits in.

JUN 08, 2011 10:43A.M. The very simple fact of the matter is that the Euro is beating the Dollar right now, and so the European Union – by taxing the snot out of their citizens – can drop a few million on their pet causes in the U.S. and have it go a long, long way.

Joe Mantegna To Receive 2011 Courage in Entertainment Award

That’s what we’re up against. • Not just liberal politicians in our own country. • Not just freedom-hating, liberal interest groups. • Entire countries. Generating billions and billions in tax payer revenue, and pilfering those funds to further their leftist agenda.

California Outdoor Heritage Alliance

I’d like to say this fight will be easy, but you and I both know that’s not true.

Newhall, CA --(Ammoland.com)- The California Outdoor Heritage Alliance (COHA) and Uncommon Dialogue Films are pleased to present the “2011 Courage in Entertainment Award” to actor Joe Mantegna at the Oak Tree Gun Club on Saturday, June 11th.

With Senators like Rand Paul being a rarity, there aren’t a lot of people in Washington fighting against this kind of nonsense.

Mantegna is being presented the award for his exceptional support of

I intend to change that.
