AMOENAʼS PRIMARY CARE
Amoena is aware of the special circumstances during this time and has developed bras especially for the first phase after the operation – to provide individual care for women according to their needs. Compression garments are designed to keep the operated breast(s) immobile and/or stabilised during the healing phase after breast surgery.
Good to know:
Compression garments may:
• S upport wound healing after breast surgery
• S tabilise the shape of the operated breast
• P rotect sensitive scar tissue and reduce irritation
• M inimise the risk of postoperative oedema
• Reduce postoperative swelling/pain and skin irritation
Proportion of mastectomies has decreased to 30% with 70% of women undergoing breastconserving treatments.
All surgical techniques are individually tailored to the patient and her cancer. However, all operations have one thing in common: the body‘s reaction to this kind of intervention.
LIGHT COMPRESSION
Expert Tip:
It is also possible that the loss of the breast can lead to poor posture of the upper spine and shoulders as the body compensates for the often one-sided weight loss. Muscle tension and shortening can be the result. In this case, a soft primary care form can be inserted into the special bra shortly after the operation.
• S welling, as the injured area increases in circumference
• D uring an operation, nerve fibres are injured, which can react to the slightest irritation and cause pain after the operation. S ensory disturbances and nerve pain occur
• I n addition to chest pain, tension may also occur in the back
• S cars remain after surgery, as well as the risk of a high incidence of oedema. This can impact the patient‘s quality of life and create p ost-operative complications
A special compression zone supports the breast without applying direct pressure to its entire surface Specific pressure zones apply light pressure to the side and back sections to encourage lymphatic drainage and support the healing process
MEDIUM COMPRESSION
Keep the breast supported and secure with specific compression zones in the lower cup area

The Amoena CuraSupport compression bras are:
• Developed in collaboration with surgeons
HIGH COMPRESSION
Keep the breast supported and secure by applying pressure to the entire breast surface
High compression levels and specially stitched panels promote optimal lymphatic drainage
