Waitrose. Milngavie Working within a small team, consisting of myself and a senior architectural technologist, we received a project at planning stage from Waitrose, a Ma jor UK Supermarket after receiving land in Milngavie, Scotland. We started to prepare the project for tender in AutoCAD however after training in Revit I requested the stage be done in the software. Bringing the project into Revit allowed us to detect difficult aspects of the build and resolve them quickly through using a central model. This was a collaboration with structural engineers and multiple consultants at once. Being the lead for modelling in Revit I was able to create a lot of the crucial components in the build including Revit Families, now used throughout future Waitrose projects. I worked on the project for 2 years and it was completed in June 2015.

ROOF CONSTRUCTION : Main roof to be constructed from Kingspan 120 mm thk KS1000 RW Ecosafe - composite steel trapezoidal roof panel system with 25 year guarantee. The panel comprising of 0.5mm thick HPS200 coated steel outer sheet, colour: Albatross. 120 mm thk LPCB approved PIR insulation core to the appropriate requirements of LPS 1181 (see paragraph 3.11) and 0.4mm white lining channel coated steel liner panel. All fixed with carbon steel fixings to suitably spaced steel purlins with all external laps sealed in mastic. All exposed fixings to be self coloured to match surface colour. Roofing / cladding sub contractor to include all necessary flashing's etc to penetrations required by fit out works. Overall roof construction to achieve minimum U value as required by SBEM calc's.

Balustrade and handrail to specialists details. Both handrail and balustrade must be capable of resisting the horizontal force given in BS EN 1991-1-1:2002. Handrail to be a min. of 900mm above pitchline of stair, balustrade to be a min. of 1100mm high on landings. All balustrading to be designed / detailed by specialist sub−contractor and to be non−climbable and stops falls from height.

Balustrade to be polyester powder coated with perforated mild steel infill panels, with 40mm tubular handrail, 60mm min. clear from back of handrail to wall finish. Balusters/ stanchions to be fixed to treads. Include matching wall mounted handrail where applicable.

fort william, scotland proposed development This project, I worked alongside a company director to get this project drawn up in Revit, preparing it to go out for tender as it was a requirement by the client and contractor for it to be drawn up using Revit. The project comprised of a retail park and an Aldi supermarket on a traditional contract. Being one of the more experienced Revit users within the company I was asked lead the project build. I created one central model to allow collaboration across the board and corresponded with structural engineers and fabricators to build a like for like model. Due to leaving the company to travel Australia, I unfortunately couldn’t see the project through until completion and was passed on within the company.
