CREATIVE DESIGN From brand identity and collateral to brochures, packaging, catalogues and annual reports, our talented creative studio combines concept and strategy to deliver engaging results. Strategy In our business, creativity is only successful when it achieves commercial results. Clear strategic planning creates the platform and plots the course for intelligent creative solutions.

Creative It’s not our role to be predictable or mediocre. Our clients engage us to reveal greater possibilities for their brands so that’s what we do. We explore the boundaries, then set new ones. A brand won’t stand out from the crowd by imitating others.

Process Our reputation isn’t built solely on what we deliver. It’s also built on how we deliver it. Our planning, project management, and budgeting are fully integrated with our creative approach for a seamless workflow.

Results Our clients never doubt our passion for their business. When they entrust us with their greatest asset – their brand – we commit wholeheartedly to solving their problems. Our strategic thinking, the conviction in our presentations, and the quality of our work all demonstrate our desire for their success. Chapel Olive Oil Packaging.

GREAT TIPS FOR PROMOTING YOUR BUSINESS ONLINE

If you’ve ever had trouble with ideas to get your business out there, you’re not alone. Try online news releases.

Online news releases put your name where customers look. They have a broader reach than email marketing and they reach people way beyond your email list, for example prospects, writers and bloggers. They can get your name to the very top of a Google page so potential customers find you faster. Here are 10 great tips to get you started.

12

1

Offer useful, free educational resources.

Educate the public about your latest initiative, event, product or service. No one likes to be lectured, but you can present helpful, useful information by telling a story. This kind of news can easily construct your own believability with consumers and offer any learning resources people may discuss.

2

Tell everyone about your latest accomplishment or award.

The next time you win an award or have a major breakthrough – or win an award for your latest major breakthrough – let the world know about it. An online news release can take the story past your industry in numerous ways and can connect you with all sorts of people, including journalists looking for a story, and customers looking for a well-reviewed, credible product or service.

3

Share an inspirational story.

4

You’re ‘going green.’

For inspiration for your next release, look no further than inspiration. Readers love to hear about people going the extra mile, overcoming adversity, and becoming successful–and the publicity can generate even more success.

Even if you’re not in the environmental industry, you can still win customers with a ‘green’ story. People like it when businesses help the environment. They search online for green products too – so get your eco-news out there.

5

Announce a charitable contribution.

6

Debunk a myth.

7

Share new market studies, research, surveys or polls.

A news release about your latest charitable contribution can help generate awareness and credibility for the cause you believe in and it can really help you drive business, too. It can win you positive media coverage and connect your business with the many consumers that believe in your cause.

Don’t go outside without a coat; don’t crack your knuckles; and whatever you do, don’t swallow your gum. There are tons of myths that relate to your industry, and an online news release is a great platform to debunk them. It’s the kind of ‘told-you-so’ link that people love to send to their friends.

8

Hook your story to a technology trend.

9

Provide helpful tips.

A CEO making an announcement – that’s nothing new. But it is when they do it on YouTube, or Twitter. Tech is one of the most talked-about commercial enterprise today, and you don’t have to have a high-tech product to get in on the action. Seriously, you can capitalize on the buzz out there with just a notepad.

Publishing a few helpful tips can turn a search engine user into a potential customer, so get your industry knowledge out there. If you sell fitness products furnish tips on how to utilize them. Or if you sell computers, publish a list of keyboard shortcuts or a guide on the most proficient method to stay away from online scams. You have the tips and people are out there searching for them. Get publishing and get connected. Remember though, only one or two splendid tips is much better than a long rundown of useless ones.

10

Promote your event or team sponsorship.

An incredible approach to reach local customers is to sponsor a local team or event, and then publish a news release promoting your contribution. It’s added publicity for them, and it is great publicity for you, particularly when it connects you to customers and journalists looking for the team / event.

Everyone loves stats and surveys, particularly journalists who find ready-made stories in this type of news release. Readers also love sharing them in a big way, via links, tweets, Facebook and just about every other communication channel.

CASE STUDY TWISTICK When Leanne Martell, owner of Feel at Home Ltd and the Twistick range of products, approached AMPM to assist with the production of new shippers / merchandisers and product labels, we leapt at the challenge.

Twistick is an exciting, new range of naturally formulated, organic products packaged in a unique purse or pocketfriendly plastic dispenser for people on the move. Two products, a travel soap and a first aid ‘stick’ were the first to be launched. Our brief was to work alongside George Williams of Havelock North-based design firm, Black Dog Design to manage the prepress and print production of his edgy, unique designs and transform them into a clever merchandising unit and water resistant product labels.

The Shipper / Merchandiser. Subsequent to our quotation, a computer-cut, unprinted sample was firstly produced for scrutiny and tweaking. Accurate die cutting and gluing would be essential. Vibrancy of colour and crisp print definition would also be critical to maximise the impact of George’s dramatic attention grabbing design - so next step was to provide top end digital colour proofing for checking by all parties. When all approvals were given, the printing run was then undertaken. The job was checked and signed off on the press by the account manager and AMPM director, Rob Treacher.

14

The Product Labels. Our client showed us some trial labels that had been printed digitally however after conducting some test runs of our own, we quickly concluded that printing by the traditional offset litho method would deliver a higher level of sharpness on the water resistant vinyl stock. After several tweaks to copy and colours by George, again digital colour proofs were provided and signed off. By increasing the print run slightly, we were also able to meet our client’s unit price requirement.

The Outcome. We were absolutely delighted at the positive feedback received not only from Leanne Martell and George Wilson but also from Twistick brand ambassador, Olympic Gold Medallist and world champion wind surfer, Barbara Kendall! AMPM is proud to be associated with the Twistick brand and wish Leanne, Barbara and their team every success. Thanks for the opportunity to be of service!

THE IMPORTANCE OF WEB & SOCIAL MEDIA Your website is no longer the only single source of information available online. It is now vital that we pay attention to the increasing availability and use of social media. Social Media

E-Marketing

Social media was once not an area to venture into for many businesses. Many companies asked themselves whether it was even worth the time and resources or was it really a viable option. Well that ship has sailed and it has become increasingly important to really push your way through the online social media space.

Email is an internet marketing tool that is holding its own in the marketing options for businesses and there are quite a few reasons why email marketing is important for your business.

Social media is an amazing way to grow an online brand in leaps and bounds it simply takes creativity, passion and consistency to keep things moving in the right direction. If you have not yet entered the social media space take the time to start thinking about a plan to enter the space and start building your online community. There are a variety of reasons why you should do it now rather than later and here are a few to think about: • Everybody is doing it • People like branding • Be the ‘Good Guys’ • Community is Everything.

20

Email is not expensive, not too technical. The truth is that it can lead to higher lead conversions, increased sales and brand awareness for business. What E-Marketing is: • Affordable • Simple and Quick • Personal and Customisable • Relationship Focused • Action Oriented • Measurable • More popular than Social Media • Mobile and Global.

MailChimp We’ve been utilising MailChimp to create email campaigns for our clients, to advertise their products and services. More than 3 million people use MailChimp worldwide to create, send, and track email newsletters. MailChimp gives you the ability to fully customise your campaign to your brands look and feel, and it features handy back end reporting to show you how your campaigns are going. This includes how many people have opened the emails, what time they opened them, and whether they trashed them and unsubscribed. Another great feature is the ability to track clicks. You can quickly see what your customers are interested in and what they are not, which is an invaluable resource especially for businesses with e-commerce.

Facebook Its important to keep your Facebook page up to date and also that you’re not missing out on new features. Facebook has recently updated the guidelines and restrictions on what you can show on your cover image. You can now use the cover image as an opportunity to advertise the services you or your company offers. The text however cannot exceed 20% of the cover image area. To further maximise on this opportunity, use a ‘Call To Action’. It looks like a button and by clicking on it, will open the image up. This is where you are able to add in further selling information and contact details.

Twitter One of the first questions people ask is “what is Twitter for?” As with any social network, the answer is the same: whatever you make of it. The fastest communication tool, we know within minutes or even seconds when something significant happens i.e. Earthquakes. Some think that it’s immediacy makes it ideal for spreading news. Others find it useful to ask questions of their peers; still others, for following what people or topics they’re interested in. The BBC and the Guardian, for example, already offer Twitter services for breaking news. Traffic to Twitter has risen eightfold in the past year, more than doubled in the past three months and up 60% in the past month. Twitter Uses: • Microblogging • Get quick answers • Keeping up with the latest news • Keep up with your favourite team or fan base

• Giving feedback • Find out what people really think about the latest movie • Becoming involved with topical issues • Fun and Games.

ADD EXTRA IMPACT WITH VIDEO A great way to introduce your company and brand to your viewers, upon visiting your site is with an introductory video. A video is just the thing you need to keep them engaged and on your site. 3 Benefits of an Introductory Video Your homepage leaves an impression on your visitors, so what do you want that impression to be? It should be amazing, make them want to keep coming back. Just remember to keep your video between 1-2 minutes, no one is going to want to watch an hour video. Why video is valuable: • Improved user engagement • Brand awareness • Search engine optimization. The impact of videos can be seen, especially since your visitors attention span has decreased from 12 seconds to 8 seconds. With the right script, you can maintain the attention of your visitors after those 8 seconds.

Informational There is so much information on your site, with an introductory video, it’s an easy and interesting way to provide

22

your target audience and visitors with an understanding of what the company does without them having to read through a bunch of text. Still not sure if you should add a video to your homepage? TMG Custom Media, says that “60% of respondents said they would watch video previous to reading text on the same webpage, and 52% said they generally liked watching video more than browsing text for examining business information.” You can provide information with your homepage video by: • Summarizing who the company is • Explaining your product or service • Explain your terminology • Engage and connect with viewers. The main objective of your introductory video is to get your visitors to engage and connect. The best way to do that is by telling them what it’s like to work with you and the members of your company, and a great way to show people what its like to work with you is through your personality. All that text

on your website makes conveying the personality of your company limited, whereas videos give you an opportunity to show viewers exactly how you look, sound and act. What a great way to project your core values. Visitors and other companies want to know, are you young and fun? Bold and assertive? You can answer their questions about your personality and the culture of your company through your introductory video. Another benefit of using video, is being able to reach out to your visitors in a more personal manner, really let them get to know you. Now that you’ve told them about your company and they understand your culture, you can further engage and connect with each visitor by showcasing people using your product or service. User engagement is achieved through: • Perception • Appraisal of meaning • Evaluation of meaning • Emotional response.

Give Them Direction

start. With your video you can provide each visitor with some sense of direction. You may have talked about something that interested them. This especially comes in handy when showing people using your product or when mentioning how your service can bring them results. They will want to learn more about that product or service. Something interesting and different that some companies have implemented into their introductory video is lead capture forms. Everyone wants to generate more leads, some companies actually ask you to enter your email to continue watching a video. According to unbounce.com, “Approximately 30% of page visitors watch your introductory video and 50% of those viewers watch the video in its entirety.” Another added benefit of adding a video is that sites that actually had an introductory video on their homepage saw a 10% increase in their conversion rates. With your video encourage visitors to: • Visit other parts of your site • Share your video through social media • Act on some next steps that were mentioned in the video.

Do your visitors know what to do next after landing on your homepage? Sometimes they have no idea where to even
