TOMMY WILLIAMS, JR. FISHERS, IN During his preschool years, he knew he was destined to hold the leather rock! According to nearly every basketball coach that has trained Tommy Williams, Jr.... knew he had potential! One coach said, "It had little to do with skill, but everything to do with character and grit!" Tommy has a unique desire to give his best in any sport. Tommy remembers playing with heart even on his preschool basketball team as a 3 year old, ready to fight for the win any chance he could. Now 13 years later in the 10th grade, Tommy still drives in the game wearing the Fishers High jersey! He humbly states, “I'm second to God alone". As a team player, Tommy not only 'help-side' on the court, but also in the classroom. As a student athlete playing basketball, he still finds time to hang with friends on the weekends at jump parks or during pick up games in any open gyms. Besides being an active athlete for 3 different sports, Tommy found time to create a athletic clothing company that supports youth playing AAU sports (www.speedclothingline.com). Once walking onto the basketball court before warmups, a referee questioned where Tommy gets his gear. When Tommy said to the ref, "I created these clothes", the ref immediately asked where he could grab some of his gear. As a humble player, student, son, and brother, Tommy enjoys wrestling with his younger brothers; Phillip, Quinton and Joshua. Tommy is the oldest of four (4) and looks forward to spending time with 'little-little' brother, Joshua, who is ten (10) years younger than Tommy. In the limited free-time he has, he plays the saxophone and the drums. Tommy acknowledges, "Music comes natural for me." His next move includes running down the court with his JV basketball team. We wish him luck as he continues great things on the court and in business as a young entrepreneur.

CELESTE GRAHAM

INDIANAPOLIS, IN #GOPANTHERS Being a student athlete has it's challenges. But according to Celeste Graham participating in two (2) sports, cheering and track & field, it’s both tough AND rewarding. She really lives day to day and always encourages friends to do the same. One thing she tells young athletes is to continue believing in themselves and NOTHING is impossible! Ms. Graham wears her school colors proudly as she describes herself in five (5) words: determined, affectionate, caring, an overachiever and a thinker. She is a humble student who just loves to make others happy including those close to her and loved ones. Even as an affectionate person, only a few things scare her such as failure

and when people get upset. What's so interesting about Celeste is that she aims to push through challenges when many others would have given up. But not Ms. Graham! She knows she is very critical of herself, however she finds the internal motivation to just keep going. Surprisingly, even though she is a great cheerleader and high jumper, she enjoys performing in the show choir too (descants). Have you heard her sing??? You might want to get to know Ms. Celeste Graham as she is making moves and doing them quickly. Her high school days are coming to an end but not her positive outlook on life. Celeste is planning to attend college soon and loves getting ready for her next big step in life. She is hoping to study political science and law in college.

What is your greatest strength? "PUSHING THROUGH CHALLENGES!" -C.GRAHAM

I BELIEVE YOU DON'T HAVE TO STICK TO ONE TALENT, YOU CAN DO THEM ALL! eleven (11) years old! I wholeheartedly believe 'you don't have to stick to one talent, you can achieve them all no matter how many you have. It's interesting because everyone has multiple talents. Some gravitate to using one or multiple, I'm the later. I recently released a new single 'Ease'! I was excited to see one goal cross off the list when it was dropped on Valentine's Day. Keep going after your goals and never hold back!

THE ULTIMATE ARTIST

KWAZAR MARTIN Muralist / Street Artist

Pictures provided by Kwazar Martin

This artist has so much to say and willing to share with the world. As the world IS his canvas. Meet Kwazar Martin! A humble character who is optimistic, persistent, tough and smart. These attributes are what keeps Kwazar 'busy busy' a muralist and street artist.

Even though he consumes himself with positivity, his deepest fear is not chasing his dream and regretting it later in life. Only visualizing success with no execution, can be crippled by belittling your dreams and aspirations. Which is an ultimate 'no-go' for Kwazar!

When talking to Kwazar you may notice that his passion is something that is just within him. His advice to any youth is to remember your dream and your life is yours! He believes every youth should follow their dreams regardless if you have to follow your own dreams along; with no support from family or friends. Just go for it!

With that said, everyone has a weakness and negative self-talk might be yours. But try to keep your dreams ahead of you at all times. For Kwazar, his weakness use to be procrastination, however he is constantly reinventing himself!

Mr. Martin knows this world has its hard trails and tribulations. But despite the hardships of life, he rather see people win, especially those who deserve it!

Page 18

Besides being a muralist and a well-known artist, he does enjoy supporting other activities like watching Vince Carter jump over a 7-footer in the Olympic dunking contest, a CLASSIC! To get to know more of Kwazar Martin, follow him on the IG @kwazarmartin

LORENZO BRYANT Artist By Jeniyah 7th grade, PLA

D

uring an interview for his T.A.M. feature, Lorenzo Bryant wasn’t shy to give the following insights to the students at the GVPLA in Indianapolis, IN.

“The environment I grew up in, poverty played a big role in [starting my career]. Everyone that I use to surround myself with negative people. People who said I couldn’t do art all your life so you have to better yourself. They even said that once I start to better myself. But, I really liked to be goofy and bring my big ideas to life, so my inspiration was to put it on a canvas.”

I

honestly started my career in prison. Hanging with the wrong crowds and being a follower not a leader, I thought negativity was okay which it’s not. Once you learn from your mistakes, you tend to build

yourself and learn you’re worth. I knew I was worth more than that so I decided to put my talent on a canvas. Here I am today visual artist. The obstacles I faced were worrying what other people would think of me. They see me down here, but my mind and my appearance is up here. But GOD. Keep your faith in God and keep your faith in yourself, you can make it through anything. I promise. And because of that, I’ve sold over 50 Canvas in one year!”

Out of all the careers, why did you choose this one? "Chase your dreams relentlessly, for the only person who can make them a reality is the one who believes in the reflection staring back at them."

A. I wanted to do something that was fun but also something that could impact people. Every morning i wake up I wanted to be excited about what I do, without complaining. I wanted to find something that was a natural thing for me to do and be happy with that. 4. Who supported you through this journey? A. Although my family supports everything I do, my biggest support came from strangers, people who didn’t even know me. They seen something in me and with out judging, they pushed me and gave me opportunities to do what they believed I coujld

Roller Skater & DJ at Interskate RollerRink

Dallas, TX

A DJ / RollerSkater isn't a bad job! Asaiah Williams describes himeslf as a down to earth, composed, chill, goofy, and ecstatic person. Asaiah's advice to students is to do what you want for yourself! There will always be someone who wants to speak out against you or have you do things their way. Follow your vision and your ideals and create what you want in this world and make yourself happy. We never know how much time we will have here. So why spend it suffering if there's an opportunity to find happiness? It may be tough... But its worth it!

Pictures provided by Asaiah Williams

Asaiah knows that making good choices, staying grounded and being a solid individual is only a small part of being comfortable. He currently focuses on taking care of his mindset and healing from things of the past. Asaiah is comfortable with the fears of regret. Regardless of the outcome, always aim to seek understanding and win!
