The Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) International is a peak representative organisation for medical students from across Asia, the Asia-Pacific and beyond. Training doctors from 12 Member Nations and 4 Associate/Observer Nations combine to share knowledge, undertake activities and social services and create international and trans-continental friendships.
HISTORY AMSA was officially founded in Manila, Philippines in 1985 and from this day has been an active, dynamic and exciting student-led, not-for-profit, non-political organisation. Today, with members and friends spanning the globe AMSA has an active student-exchange program, regularly undertakes national and regional projects, provides humanitarian assistance at times of need, produces quarterly student publications and liaises with the World Health Organisation, the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia and many other international and regional medical student organisations.
VISION / MISSION is Knowledge, Action and Friendship. Three areas we continuously strive to further in our members and peers through our organisational missions: o

HISTORY Asian Medical Students’ Association Indonesia (AMSA-Indonesia) is the peak representative body for medical students in Indonesia. Founded in Yogyakarta, August 10th 1996, AMSA-Indonesia has been actively participating in plethora of national and international events. It’s contributions to AMSA International as the root of the organization are succinct, having hosted four Asian Medial Students’ Conference (AMSC) in 1990, 1996, 2003, 2010, and one East Asian Medical Students’ Conference (EAMSC) in 2006.
PHILOSOPHY Knowledge. We promote scientific activity to increase and expand our knowledge to become qualified medical professionals in the future. Action. As medical students, we are concerned to the community around us and try to do something for the beneefit and improvement of our community. Friendship. As future doctors, we’re trying to build and maintain a good relationship among our counterparts around Asia-Oceania.

AMSA Unhas itself was founded in 2002 by three founders: dr. Yose, dr. Akhtar, and dr. Dimas. The observers just needed 6 months to accept AMSA Unhas as member of AMSA Indonesia.
AMSA Unhas has been developing very quick. In 2004, our members were accepted as a board in AMSA Indonesia and in 2005, as a board in AMSA International

AMSEP Asian Medical Students’ Exchange Program
Is a student exchange program for one week between medical faculties of Asian countries. AMSEP is a good way to make friends throughout Asia as well as exchanging world-wide information that would affect good relations among AMSA members. This program consists of four components: academic session, culture session, city tour, and social work.
AMSC Asian Medical Students’ Conference
The Asian Medical Students’ Conference is an annual conference of the Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA International) that involves the participation of hundreds of medical students from as many as 20 local chapters around the Asia-Pacific region. The objective of AMSC lies in creating a platform for a strong, global network of medical students, who as future medical practitioners, will explore and develop their academic knowledge, cultural appreciation and interpersonal skills.

WHD World Health Day
World Health Day was held by AMSA Unhas, AMSA UMI, and AMSA Unismuh with the theme ‘Control Blood Pressure with NO Pressure’. There where three items of event, Free medical check-up, Free circumcision, and Free Pop-up training for Children
Xplode Extraordinary Professional Action and Debate Competition
Xplode is a yearly routine competition where all AMSA debaters gathered and battle to come-out as the champions.

EAMSC East Asian Medical Students’ Conference
The East Asian Medical Students’ Conference, is an annual conference hosted by various cities around East Asia. At it’s inception, it aimed inspire delegates to become active in the amelioration of global healthcare problems through networking with other medical students from the East Asian region. More recently, it has expanded to involve delegates from all AMSAInternational chapters allowing the exchange of ideas, knowledge and cultural understanding.

The event held to mark the beginning of the Regional Chairperson's tenure. During this National Work Plan Meeting, the newly formed Executive Board will be officially inaugurated and the Regional Chairperson will seek the approval of his work plan for the tenure.

SOFTEN Social Effort for Children
This program helps a local orphanage house through social and health support. We provide them with education such as self-hygiene education, reading and writing skill, and English language. We also give care to them so we can support them and build good relation between AMSA Unhas members and the orphans.
