CIUDAD CANDIDATA

Con el vestido arcoíris queremos fomentar el debate y la concienciación sobre la inclusión y la igualdad de derechos en todo el planeta. Se trata de un vestido que tiene todas las banderas que se llevaron en el desfile de apertura del EuroPride 2016 en Ámsterdam.

Las banderas representan los países en los que la homosexualidad sigue siendo castigada por la ley, incluidos ocho países en los que las relaciones homosexuales pueden resultar en la pena de muerte.

Ámsterdam es conocida como la ciudad de la tolerancia. Ámsterdam es una ciudad muy diversa y cuenta con 180 nacionalidades. Esta diversidad también tiene en cuenta a nuestra fuerte y viva comunidad LGBTQIA+, una comunidad quepertenece a Ámsterdam y que fortalece su ambiente de tolerancia y creatividad.

Fue en el año 2001 cuando nuestro exalcalde celebró el primer matrimonio del mundo entre personas del mismo sexo. Nos sentimos orgullosos de este hecho y en 2026 celebraremos 25 años de matrimonio igualitario. En la actualidad, la tolerancia y la libertad de la comunidad LGBTQIA+ no son prácticas que estén muy extendidas en todo el mundo. Por este motivo, Ámsterdam ha hecho muchos esfuerzos para proteger todas las orientaciones sexuales.

La ciudad celebra el Pride cada verano, un evento de gran éxito que contribuye a crear un ambiente tolerante y agradable para el colectivo LGBTQIA+. Nuestro objetivo es promover este importante evento a un nivel superior y el WorldPride 2026 será una oportunidad perfecta para hacerlo.

Prólogo

«Libertad» es una de las palabras más importantes de la ciudad de Ámsterdam, capital de los Países Bajos con 750 años de antigüedad. Durante siglos, Ámsterdam ha sido un refugio seguro para personas perseguidas por su religión, ideología o estilo de vida. Sus valores liberales garantizan que sea un lugar seguro y cómodo para todas las personas, independientemente de su sexo, color de piel u orientación sexual.

En 2001, Job Cohen, alcalde de Ámsterdam, casó oficialmente y por primera vez a tres parejas de gais y lesbianas. Ámsterdam cuenta con uno de los bares de gais y lesbianas más antiguos del mundo, el 't Mandje (abierto en 1927) y el Homomonument (1987). También fue sede de los Gay Games en 1998, una de las ciudades fundadoras de la Asociación Europea de Organizadores del Pride y acogió el EuroPride en los años 1994 y 2016. Acoger el WorldPride en 2026 será otro gran hito en la historia de tolerancia de la ciudad para el colectivo LGBTQIA+. Seráun acontecimiento histórico que permitirá a Ámsterdam compartir su increíble ambiente de tolerancia y aceptación con otras personas LGBTQIA+ y con sus amigos de todo el mundo.

El año 2026 será un momento perfecto para que Ámsterdam acoja el WorldPride. Celebraremos 25 años de matrimonio igualitario, 30 años de Pride Amsterdam y el 80º aniversario de COC Netherlands. Fundada en Ámsterdam en 1946, COC es la organización LGBTQIA+ en funcionamiento más antigua del mundo y una de las pocas organizaciones LGBTI que es reconocida como entidad consultiva especial por las Naciones Unidas. En 2026, también celebraremos los 15 años de la«Declaración de Ámsterdam» por un lugar de trabajo inclusivo para las personas LGBTQIA+ y el 10º aniversario de la Coalición por la Igualdad de Derechos (ERC, por sus siglas en inglés), fundada bajo el liderazgo de los Países Bajos.

Aunque Ámsterdam ha sido capital gay mundial durante muchas décadas, también es algo positivo que personas LGBTQIA+ de muchas otras ciudades y países hayan obtenido los mismos derechos y privilegios fundamentales a lo largo del tiempo.Acoger el WorldPride en Ámsterdam dará a la ciudad la oportunidad de crear una plataforma para que las ciudades y los países compartan sus prácticas en materia de aceptación social y derechos LGBTQIA+ y, a la vez, dará a la ciudad la oportunidad de aprender de los demás.

NUESTRA HISTORIA

Ámsterdam [1300]

La capital de los Países Bajos debe su nombre a su ubicación cerca de una presa que fue construida en el siglo XIII en el río Amstel. La ciudad, que se encuentra a dos metros por debajo del nivel del mar, también se llama Mokum y es el hogar de 905 000 personas. Adquirió los derechos de ciudad alrededor del año 1300 y se convirtió en una de las ciudades comerciales más importantes del mundo en el siglo XVII.

Cinturón de canales [1625]

El cinturón de canales está ubicado en el centro histórico de la ciudad y se encuentra junto a los cuatro canales principales de Ámsterdam: Singel, Herengracht, Keizersgracht y Prinsengracht. Desde el noroeste, los canales discurren en paralelo hacia el sureste y terminan después de cuatro suaves recodos en el río Amstel. El anillo de canales es Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.

La ronda nocturna [1642] Rembrandt van Rijn (1606 1669) es el maestro holandés más famoso del siglo XVII. La ronda nocturna de 1642 es su mayor obra y la más importante. Para evitar que se destruyera, la pintura se escondió en las cuevas de Maastricht durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Las personas que se representan en el cuadro vivían y trabajaban en lo que hoy llamamos el Cinturón del canal.

Palacio real [1655]

El palacio de la plaza de la presa se construyó originalmente como ayuntamiento entre 1648 1655 y solo se inauguró como palacio por el rey Luis Napoleón en 1808. El palacio, que descansa sobre unos cimientos con 13 681 pilares de madera, es ahora un palacio para visitas y también funciona como museo. El palacio se puede visitar todos los días siempre que el rey Willem Alexander no lo esté utilizando.

Fin de la pena de muerte [1765]

En el siglo XVIII, las relaciones sexuales entre personas del mismo sexo eran consideradas un pecado grave y se castigaban con la muerte. En 1765, los últimos cinco hombres fueron ejecutados en la horca de Ámsterdam. A nivel nacional, Jillis Bruggeman fue el último hombre en ser ejecutado y fue ahorcado en Schiedam en 1803. Con la introducción de la ley francesa (1811), se abolió oficialmente la pena de muerte por sodomía.

Los girasoles de Van Gogh [1889]

Gracias a sus 15 bonitos girasoles en un jarrón de media altura, Vincent Van Gogh (1853 1890) es quizás más famoso que Rembrandt. Según el propio Van Gogh, los girasoles simbolizan la gratitud. AJAX [1900]

El club de fútbol con más éxito de los Países Bajos es el Ajax de Ámsterdam. Ha visto jugar a varios futbolistas reconocidos a nivel mundial como Johan Cruijff, y, al igual que el Pride, tiene el ADN de nuestra ciudad. En el 25º aniversario de la ciudad, jugó al fútbol con un uniforme en el que se leía "Love Unites" (El amor une) y con el número 25. Lo hizo para llamar la atención sobre la necesidad de una sociedad diversa e inclusiva.

Café het Mandje [1927]

Este café en el Zeedijk es el café gay más antiguo que existe. Lo fundó en 1927 Bet van Beeren, una mujer fuerte que fue muy abierta sobre su sexualidad. Debido a las estrictas leyes de moralidad de la época, no permitía que los clientes se besaran ni otros "comportamientos lascivos", pero todo el mundo era bienvenido. Por este motivo, este café recibe habitualmente visitas de marineros, trabajadores sexuales, homosexuales y heterosexuales.

Ana Frank [1929-1945]

Su diario es el libro más traducido y leído del mundo. Ana lo escribió mientras estaba escondida con su familia. Después, la familia fue traicionada y deportada a Auschwitz. Su padre, que fue el único que sobrevivió a la guerra, decidió publicarlo. Esperaba que inspirara a la gente para actuar en contra de los prejuicios y la discriminación.

COC Netherlands [1946]

Fundado en 1946 como el club Shakespeare, el COC es el grupo de interés para personas LGBTI más antiguo del mundo. El COC es reconocido como una entidad consultiva especial por las Naciones Unidas. Al permitir que otros utilicen a veces su derecho a expresarse, también dan voz a organizaciones hermanas de otros países

Pink Saturday [1979]

Siete años después de los disturbios de Stonewall, tuvo lugar en Ámsterdam la primera gran manifestación por la igualdad de derechos, organizada por la Alianza Internacional de Lesbianas contra la campaña antigay de Anita Bryant. Esta manifestación recibió el nombre de Pink Saturday y se convirtió en un evento anual que se celebra todos los años en una ciudad diferente desde 1979, el último sábado de junio.

Monumento gay [1987]

El primer monumento gay del mundo se encuentra situado junto a Westerkerk. Se compone de tres triángulos rosas que se unen para formar un triángulo más grande. Conmemora a todas aquellas personas que han sido perseguidas por su orientación o identidad de género. El triángulo rosa de los campos de concentración alemanes es el símbolo de Geuzen en la lucha de las personas por la aceptación y la igualdad de derechos.

EuroPride Amsterdam [1994]

La idea de crear un EuroPride surgió durante la Conferencia Mundial de la ILGA en 1991. Berlín, Londres y Ámsterdam tomaron la iniciativa para conseguir este propósito y se consideran las ciudades fundadoras de la EPOA, la entidad que concede la licencia del EuroPride. El EuroPride se celebró en Ámsterdam en 1994 y, con más de 100 000 visitantes, fue el primer gran evento LGBT de los Países Bajos.

Pride Amsterdam [1996]

Con el fin de promover Ámsterdam como centro de entretenimiento gay, los empresarios de la hostelería gay tuvieron la idea de atraer a los turistas a la ciudad en verano. En 1996, una colorida procesión de barcos recorrió por primera vez los canales de la ciudad. A diferencia de otros desfiles en otros lugares del mundo, este no pretendía ser una protesta, sino solo una celebración de la libertad y la diversidad.

Gay Games Ámsterdam [1998]

Bajo el lema de la amistad a través de la cultura y el deporte, la 5º edición de los Gay Games se celebró en Ámsterdam en 1998, la primera vez que se celebraban fuera de América. Con 13 000 participantes, se convirtieron en los mayores juegos de todos los tiempos. Las ceremonias de apertura y clausura se celebraron en la Amsterdam Arena y fueron seguidas en directo por televisión por más de un millón de personas.

Matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo [2001]

Los Países Bajos son el primer país del mundo en poner el matrimonio civil a disposición de las parejas del mismo sexo. El 1 de abril de 2001, la prensa de todo el mundo se reunió en Ámsterdam para conocer la primicia. Justo después de la medianoche, el alcalde de Ámsterdam casó a cuatro parejas. Después de este momento, 31 países han seguido el ejemplo del país.

Red de ciudades arcoíris [2008]

La red internacional de ciudades arcoíris se creó en Ámsterdam para mejorar la política LGBTI. Las ciudades son actores clave en la lucha por los derechos de las personas LGBTI y llevan años posicionándose en contra de la discriminación por orientación sexual e identidad de género, y han llevado a cabo políticas al respecto.

La Declaración de Ámsterdam [2011]

Al firmar la declaración, las empresas se comprometieron a trabajar por un lugar de trabajo inclusivo. Ha mejorado la seguridad psicológica, la felicidad y el rendimiento de todos los empleados, independientemente de su identidad de género u orientación sexual. Empresas como IBM, Philips, Shell, Unilever y TNT se encuentran entre los signatarios.

EuroPride Amsterdam [2016]

Bajo el lema "Únete a nuestra libertad", el EuroPride se celebró por segunda vez en Ámsterdam en 2016. Esta vez el evento duró dos semanas y comenzó con un Pink Saturday y un concierto por los derechos humanos en la Plaza Dam. Con 516 000 visitantes y 2,1 millones de telespectadores, este evento superó todas las expectativas y fue todo un éxito.

Patrimonio Inmaterial [2019]

En 2019, Pride Amsterdam se añadió a la lista de Patrimonio Inmaterial de los Países Bajos. Después de la ratificación de la Convención de la UNESCO en 2012, Pride Amsterdam fue la incorporación número 150. De esta forma podemos garantizar que el Pride se siga celebrando dentro de 100 años y que se transmita de generación en generación.

WorldPride Amsterdam [2026]

Hagamos historia

Edad de consentimiento En enero de 1969, cinco meses antes de los disturbios de Stonewall, tuvo lugar la primera gran manifestación abiertamente gay en los Países Bajos. La manifestación protestaba contra el artículo 248 bis del Código Penal del país, que establecía la edad mínima para tener relaciones homosexuales a los 21 años, mientras que para tener relaciones heterosexuales la edad mínima requerida era de 16 años. Desde 1971, la edad de consentimiento ha sido igual.

Libertad para casarse

En los Países Bajos no existe el "matrimonio gay". El matrimonio civil está disponible para las parejas del mismo sexo y los Países Bajos fue el primer país del mundo en ponerlo en práctica. En abril de 2001, el alcalde de Ámsterdam casó a las primeras parejas. El primer ministro del país acaba de anunciar que la princesa heredera Amalia también es libre de casarse con quien quiera.

También se incluye el reconocimiento legal del género no binario, la paternidad múltiple legal, el permiso de transición legal y la inversión en la red policial "rosa" del país.

Ser electo

En los Países Bajos, cualquier persona puede presentarse a las elecciones de un órgano de administración o supervisión. Ámsterdam ha conocido a numerosos concejales y ediles LGBT, y los Países Bajos han tenido ministros y miembros del parlamento LGBT. Todavía estamos esperando al primer alcalde no heterosexual de Ámsterdam o a un primer ministro no heterosexual.

Ocio nocturno LGBT en Ámsterdam Ámsterdam tiene casi 1000 cafés y bares "normales" en los que todas las personas son bienvenidas, aunque son especialmente conocidos por su ocio nocturno LGBT. Casco antiguo gay

Los eventos para fetichistas se celebran en Warmoesstraat, la calle más antigua de Ámsterdam. Allí encontrarás el bar Eagle para los hombres fuertes y el Dirty Dicks para aquellos a los que les gusta lo salvaje. A la vuelta de la esquina, en el Zeedijk, encontrarás The Queen's Head, un bar con bingo.

Área Spuistraat

Muy cerca, en el área de Spuistraat, también encontrarás dos bares fetichistas con cuarto oscuro y más sorpresas. En Nieuwezijdskolk encontrarás The Cuckoo's Nest y, a la vuelta de la esquina, en Sint Jacobsstraat, The Web. En la misma Spuistraat se encuentra el Bar Prik, quizás el único bar en el que puedes encontrar una gran combinación con miembros de toda la comunidad LGBT.

Hace calor aquí Los propietarios del Club Church también regentan la Sauna Nieuwezijds (NZ), la única sauna gay de Ámsterdam. A veces celebran eventos y fiestas temáticas, pero por lo general se trata de un recorrido en el que solo se lleva una toalla alrededor de la cintura. La sauna NZ se encuentra en el Nieuwezijds Armsteeg.

Área Leidseplein

A solo unos pasos de Leidseplein se encuentra el antiguo bar "The Spijkerbar", en el inicio de Kerkstraat. Las mujeres son bienvenidas, pero no pueden ir arriba. En la siguiente esquina, se encuentra el Club Church, que presenta una temática sexual diferente todos los días. También hay noches para mujeres y personas trans.

Área Rembrandtplein

En Utrechstestraat, encontrarás el café Brug34 con desayunos y almuerzos durante todo el día y, un poco más cerca de la plaza, The Lellebel, donde el drag se ha elevado a una forma de arte. En Halvemaansteeg encontrarás los bares holandeses más tradicionales, Amstel54 y Café Montmartre. Si quieres una salida al más puro estilo caribeño, visita el Café Reality, que se encuentra a la vuelta de la plaza en la calle Reguliersdwarsstraat.

Mujeres

Las mujeres son bienvenidas en todos los bares gay, pero se sentirán especialmente bienvenidas en el Café Saarein, que se encuentra en el corazón de Jordaan. También son bienvenidas en el Bar Buka, en la calle Albert Cuypstraat, donde también se encuentra el famoso mercado de la ciudad que abre todos los días.

De Trut

Ámsterdam no sería Ámsterdam si no tuviera una fiesta (o dos o más) cada semana. Todos los domingos tienes una cita en la primera discoteca para gais y lesbianas de Ámsterdam, De Trut, en el sótano de un antiguo edificio en Bilderdijkstraat 165. Las puertas se abren a las 10 de la noche.

Cuerpos masculinos

Para los hombres peludos y para sus fans, hay Furball en el Club Church cuatro veces al año, y Bear Necessity, un poco más grande (también durante el WorldPride), en el bonito edificio Panamá, que se encuentra a poca distancia de la Estación Central. Las famosas fiestas Funhouse y Rapido también se celebran durante el WorldPride. El mismo propietario, la misma ubicación (Westergasfabriek) y el mismo concepto, la casa de los golpes tiene jóvenes y no tan jóvenes sin camiseta. El mismo concepto, pero quizás un poco más suave, lo encontrarás en Backdoor Parties en Melkweg, cerca de Leidseplein.

Milkshake

El Milkshake es un festival popular de dos días que se celebra en Westerpark y para el que hay que comprar las entradas con meses de antelación. Este festival es el resultado de lo que sucedió hace años cuando dos de los mayores clubes de mentalidad abierta de Ámsterdam mezclaron su política de amor y tolerancia junto con el arte, la cultura, el entretenimiento y la creatividad.

EN AVIÓN

El aeropuerto de Ámsterdam

Schiphol es una puerta de entrada eficiente y muy moderna a los Países Bajos. Con los años, se ha convertido en el aeropuerto preferido de Europa, con 104 compañías aéreas que operan vuelos directos a 332 destinos en 97 países. En 2019, el número de viajeros creció hasta casi 70 millones y se manejaron 1,6 millones de toneladas de carga. Desde Schiphol, puedes llegar al centro de Ámsterdam en 15 minutos en taxi y, si prefieres moverte en tren, tienes uno cada 8 minutos y que pasa por varias estaciones de Ámsterdam.

EN TREN

Dutch Railways (NS) transporta a casi un millón de pasajeros todos los días. La red nacional NS llega a todos los rincones de los Países Bajos. NS International realiza rutas internacionales a diario en colaboración con redes ferroviarias de alta velocidad como ICE, Thalys, TGV, CityNightline y Eurostar. Entre ellas, ofrecen docenas de destinos diarios, como Bruselas (2 horas), París (3 horas y 20 minutos), Fráncfort (4 horas) y Londres (4 horas y 10 minutos).

EN BARCO

El ferry más popular de Reino Unido a Ámsterdam sale de Newcastle y lo opera DFDS Seaways. Actualmente ofrecen 7 viajes semanales con una duración de 16 horas y 45 minutos.

ALOJARSE

Alojamiento

La región metropolitana deÁmsterdam tiene una capacidad de alrededor de 200 000 camas, repartidas entre hoteles (128 000), Airbnb (62 000) y campings (10 000). Hay albergues y campings solo para hombres y solo para mujeres. Los precios oscilan entre los 40 euros la noche de una habitación compartida en un albergue y los 975 euros por noche en una habitación doble en un hotel superior de 5 estrellas.

Comer y beber

Hay muchos lugares para desayunar y comer, y también muchas cafeterías. En el moderno barrio de Noord se pueden encontrar restaurantes de estilo industrial y cafés sobre el agua. En verano, ir de picnic y relajarse al sol en uno de los bonitos parques o bosques de nuestra ciudad es una actividad casi obligada. La ciudad cuenta con 25 restaurantes con estrellas Michelin y en el sector inferior hay cientos de restaurantes con una muy buena relación calidad/precio. Se pueden encontrar platos de todas las cocinas del mundo, literalmente. También hay una gran oferta de comida para llevar y servicios de entregas (rápidas). En resumen, no importa lo mucho o lo poco que quieras gastar en tu viaje,Ámsterdam siempre tiene algo que ofrecer.

Precios

Una comida Big Mac gigante te costará 10,95 euros, una comida turística de tres platos en un restaurante asador en el centro, 19,50 euros, una cerveza 3,50 euros (200 ml) y 6,50 euros (500 ml), y una Coca Cola 3 euros (220 ml). Una comida típica holandesa que no te puedes perder en una wall shop es la croquet (2,60 euros).

DESPLAZAR

Transporte públicoÁmsterdam cuenta con una muy buena red de transporte público. Es limpia, segura y fiable. Las llamadas y los anuncios escritos se realizan en holandés e inglés. Hay trenes, autobuses, tranvías, metros y conexiones de ferry (gratuitas).

Explorar la ciudad

Moverte por Ámsterdam en transporte público cuando llueve puede ser una buena idea. Pero cuando el clima es seco, hay opciones mucho más agradables. Puedes hacer un crucero por los canales, alquilar un barco eléctrico o alquilar una bicicleta como lo hacen los holandeses. Pasear por la ciudad

La ciudad no fue bombardeada en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, por lo que todos los monumentos se mantienen en pie con orgullo. Merece la pena pasear por el centro de la ciudad, del siglo XVII, con su famoso anillo de canales (Patrimonio de la UNESCO). También tiene cientos de terrazas entre las que puedes elegir, donde puedes comer o tomarte una copa al sol. También puedes hacer un recorrido por la historia LGBT con Henk, un guía que te llevará a lugares de especial interés.

Tarjeta I Amsterdam

Con esta tarjeta tendrás acceso a los principales puntos de interés y a más de 70 museos, al transporte público de toda la ciudad, a un crucero por los canales y podrás alquilar bicicletas. Puede comprar tarjetas de 24, 48, 72, 96 o 120 horas (120 horas: 135 euros). La City Card es válida en todos los transportes de GVB. Si solo buscas transporte público, te conviene comprar una tarjeta GVB (120 horas: 29,95 euros).

Política de alcohol

El gobierno holandés está trabajando para combatir el abuso de alcohol en la sociedad. En el Pride, a los menores solo se les sirven refrescos y cócteles sin alcohol.

Política sobre el tabaco

En los Países Bajos no está permitido fumar en espacios públicos cerrados. Está permitido fumar en el exterior, excepto en las estaciones de tren, en las terrazas para no fumadores y en los portales.

Política de drogas blandas

La marihuana y el hachís son drogas menos perjudiciales que las duras, por lo que en los Países Bajos han aplicado una política de tolerancia, lo que significa que no se te perseguirá si posees pequeñas cantidades (5 gramos como máximo).

Clínica Ambulatoria de ETS

Si te dicen que puedes tener una infección de transmisión sexual (ETS) o tiene síntomas que podrían indicar una, tienes derecho a una consulta gratuita (examen y tratamiento si es necesario) en la Clínica Ambulatoria de ETS del Servicio de Salud Pública.

VIH y Prep 45 años después de que se hospitalizara a los primeros enfermos de sida, seguimos luchando contra el VIH. Para los hombres que tienen sexo con otros hombres, la Clínica Ambulatoria dispensa Prep (profilaxis preexposición) de forma gratuita.

Aborto

Las mujeres son dueñas de sus cuerpos en los Países Bajos. Por lo tanto, el aborto es legal hasta la semana 22 del embarazo.

Asistencia médica

FESTIVAL

Stacey Lentz, activista LGBT y copropietaria del legendario café Stonewall Inn de Nueva York, ya lo dijo después de su visita en 2019: "Pride Amsterdam ha sido increíble y épico. Lo que empezó en 1996 como una fiesta para atraer a más visitantes LGBT a nuestra ciudad durante el verano, ha evolucionado hasta convertirse en un festival de nueve días y ha crecido hasta llegar a ser una de las mejores y mayores celebraciones de este tipo en todo el mundo. La ciudad se convierte en un arcoíris de eventos con fiestas para bailar, festivales de cine, eventos deportivos, debates, cultura y una Pride Walk (Paseo del orgullo) seguida del Rainbow Park. Después, durante el fin de semana de clausura, los techos desaparecen, tanto en sentido literal como figurado, y aparecen escenarios al aire libre en varios lugares.

ORGANIZA CIÓN

Somos una fundación sin ánimo de lucro que lucha por la emancipación, la igualdad social y jurídica y la aceptación de la comunidad LGBTQI+. Es necesario logar esta visibilidad de la diversidad porque lo que se ve no se puede ignorar.

Somos el centro de la red de organizaciones que colaboran en la organización del festival. Para garantizar que la cooperación se desarrolle sin problemas, trabajamos con una estructura de comités: Arte y Cultura, Pride y Deportes, Mujeres y Pride, Pride Joven, Pride Senior, Pride Trans, Pride Religioso, Pride Fetichista y Pride B+. Los comités ofrecen eventos adaptados a su grupo objetivo y garantizan una mayor visibilidad.

Tenemos un modelo de gobernanza en el que el consejo, con asesoramiento del director, determina el rumbo estratégico de la organización y supervisa la ejecución de los actos. Además, ha delegado el día a día en un director ejecutivo. Para su labor de supervisión, el consejo mantiene un contacto regular con el director y nombra a un contable para la fundación.

El director lidera la organización, asegura la captación de patrocinadores, subvenciones y otros ingresos de este tipo, vela por los gastos y la gestión de los recursos disponibles y el adecuado funcionamiento de la organización.

La organización está formada por cuatro empleados y cuenta con el apoyo de autónomos y proveedores externos especializados.

HISTORIA DEL PRIDE EN LOS PAÍSES BAJOS

Siete años después de los disturbios de Stonewall, tuvo lugar en los Países Bajos la primera gran manifestación por la igualdad de derechos, organizada por la Alianza Internacional de Lesbianas. Desde 1979, se ha convertido en un evento anual que recibe el nombre de Pink Saturday y se celebra en una ciudad diferente cada año. A diferencia del Pink Saturday, Pride Amsterdam, como se denominó el evento de 1996 a 2006, no se originó como una manifestación ni como marcha de protesta.

Pride Amsterdam era una fiesta organizada por empresarios de la hostelería gay unidos por Gay Business Amsterdam (GBA) con elfin de promocionar Ámsterdam como ciudad de ocio nocturno gay y celebrar la libertad y la diversidad de la ciudad (que todavía mantiene el ADN de la fiesta). "Fue un regalo de los empresarios gais a la ciudad", dice el portavoz del GBA, Siep de Haan.

Muchos años después, el tema de la emancipación se ha añadido al Pride y el festival ha pasado de ser un evento de un solo día a ser un festival LGBT de renombre internacional, que expresa la diversidad de la comunidad LGBT a través de los deportes, el arte y la cultura, los servicios de la iglesia rosa, las manifestaciones envarios distritos de la ciudad de Ámsterdam y los eventos del Pride Lésbico, Senior y Trans. Debido a este desarrollo, el Pride recibió la medalla Bob Angelo del COC en 2014.

Después del drama del Love Parade de Duisburgo (2010), los costes de seguridad y gestión de multitudes se han multiplicado por más de cuatro, mientras que el número de hombros para soportar esas cargas se ha reducido a más de la mitad. Como resultado, ya no es posible hacer recaer todos los costes únicamente en los empresarios LGBT y esperar que el Pride siga siendo un regalo de ellos para la ciudad.

Al mismo tiempo, estamos en una fase en la que el activismo gay ya no tiene que centrarse en la política, sino principalmente en los empresarios, las iglesias y las asociaciones deportivas.

Esto suele ocurrir desde el interior y el resultado se puede ver cuando se navega en el Desfile del Canal que se ha celebrado en los últimos años. Las orgullosas asociaciones rosas de empleados de las empresas multinacionales. No solo les agradecemos que sigan haciendo posible económicamente el Pride, sino también que contribuyan a la "norma social" de que es normal desaprobar la discriminación contra las personas LGBT.

TRES ORGANIZADORES DIFERENTES

Pride Ámsterdam fue organizado de 1996 a 2005 por Gay Business Ámsterdam, de 2006 a 2013 por ProGay, y desde 2014 por Pride Ámsterdam Fundación, conocida como Ámsterdam Gay Pride Fundación hasta 2020). PERSONAS DEL MISMO SEXO

Un WorldPride en Ámsterdam podría ser un hito importante, un punto en el horizonte para que trabajemos juntos. La igualdad y los derechos adquiridos están bajo presión en muchos lugares y nosotros, como comunidad LGBTI, debemos hacer que se nos escuche de forma visible y combativa.

Nuestro matrimonio civil entre personas del mismo sexo provocó una ola y, desde entonces, el matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo se ha establecido por ley en otros 29 países, incluyendo la mayor parte de América y Europa Occidental. Sin embargo, su difusión se ha hecho de forma desigual.Sudáfrica es el único país de África y Taiwán el único de Asia. NINGUNO DE NOSOTROS ES LIBRE HASTA QUE TODOS LO SEAMOS

Si queremos vivir en una sociedad verdaderamente justa, todos debemos apoyarnos en la lucha por la igualdad.Ámsterdam está en pleno proceso de convertir el Pride en un Pride inclusivo e interseccional. Todo el mundo se enfrenta a diferencias por su color de piel, edad, creencias y clase social, sin embargo, la coherencia de estas diferencias crea ventajas y desventajas estructurales.

La emancipación en los Países Bajos está muy avanzada, pero lamentablemente no para todos. Por lo general, los hombres gais blancos cisgénero son los que más se acercan a la norma (el hombre blanco heterosexual cisgénero sin discapacidades físicas ni mentales y con unos ingresos medios) y, tras años de lucha, ahora tienen una vida relativamente fácil. Esto contrasta fuertemente con la situación de las personas transgénero y LGB de origen no occidental y/o con un fuerte trasfondo religioso.

El papel del Pride es hacer más visibles a estos grupos, facilitar su empoderamiento y fomentar la emancipación de los grupos que se han quedado atrás.

La ciudad de Ámsterdam también se toma muy en serio el destino de estos grupos e intenta estimular el progreso revisando la política gubernamental. Sin embargo, debido a que el cambio debe venir principalmente desde dentro, es importante dejar que estos grupos hablen por sí mismos y ayudarles en su camino.

30 AÑOS DE PRIDE EN ÁMSTERDAM

Pride Amsterdam es un Pride relativamente joven. Empezamos en 1996 y en 2026 cumpliremos 30 años. Celebrarlo con un WorldPride sería el mejor regalo. ¡Y todo el mundo estará invitado a la fiesta! Tendremos una gran exposición al aire libre con fotos de los momentos más bonitos e impactantes de los últimos 30 años.

80 AÑOS DE COC NETHERLANDS

Fundado en 1946 como el club Shakespeare, el COC es el grupo de interés para personas LGBTI en funcionamiento más antiguo del mundo. El COC es reconocido como una entidad consultiva especial por las Naciones Unidas. En 2026 celebran su 80º aniversario y lo harán con una reposición especial del club Shakespeare.

20 AÑOS DE PRIDE EN EL LUGAR DE TRABAJO

Si Ámsterdam acoge el WorldPride en 2026, en el 20º aniversario del Pride en el lugar de trabajo, supondrá una oportunidad única para poner de relieve lo que se ha conseguido, pero también lo que aún queda por hacer para las comunidades LGBTIQ+ en cuanto a desarrollo laboral y socioeconómico. Quieren celebrar su aniversario con un simposio sobre el tema y confían plenamente en que será un acontecimiento único.

EL IMPACTO MUNDIAL

El WorldPride debe ser una celebración totalmente inclusiva en la que se establezcan nuevas conexiones y se forjen asociaciones. Después del WorldPride, los activistas deberían volver a casa llenos de energía y sentir que forman parte de una nueva ola de activismo de empoderamiento LGBTQIA+. DECLARACIÓN UNIVERSAL DE DERECHOS HUMANOS MÁS INCLUSIVA

Pretendemos que se añada la "orientación sexual" a la lista de distinciones en el artículo 2 de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos. "Todas las personas tienen todos los derechos y libertades proclamados en esta Declaración, sin distinción alguna de raza, color, sexo, idioma, religión, ideología política o de otra índole, origen nacional o social, posición económica, nacimiento o cualquier otra condición".

La posibilidad de que esto tenga éxito en los próximos cuatro años no es demasiado grande. Por lo tanto, trabajaremos simultáneamente con la coalición por la igualdad de derechos y redactaremos una declaración universal de igualdad de derechos para todos los colores de nuestra comunidad arcoíris. Además, haremos que la firme el mayor número posible de gobiernos.

#YOTAMBIÉN SOY LGBT EN LA AGENDA

INTERNACIONAL

El tema de la violencia sexual contra los hombres se denuncia poco y a menudo no se comprende, lo que significa que no hay representación y el acceso a la justicia y el apoyo a las víctimas es bajo. Las comunidades marginadas se enfrentan a mayores índices de violencia sexual.

Los estigmas son un impedimento importante para que haya una mejor representación. Al permitir una mayor visibilidad de la violencia sexual contra los hombres, podemos trabajar para reducir las barreras sociales. Creemos que para hacer frente a la violencia sexual, debemos involucrar las experiencias de hombres, transexuales y personas no binarias en el tema del consentimiento y luchar por el reconocimiento de los abusos.

PATRIMONIO CULTURAL INMATERIAL DE LA UNESCO

Pride Amsterdam se incluyó en la Lista del Patrimonio Inmaterial de los Países Bajos en 2019 como parte esencial de la cultura holandesa. Solo se puede añadir un patrimonio a la lista si la comunidad se compromete activamente con el futuro de su patrimonio. Es un reconocimiento oficial y una señal de que el Pride se transmitirá de generación en generación, y que los posibles obstáculos se resolverán de buena gana durante el traspaso a las generaciones siguientes.

Si se nos concede la licencia WorldPride, solicitaremos a nuestro gobierno que proponga nuestro Pride para la lista internacional de la UNESCO. Se puede hacer una vez al año antes del 31 de marzo y se tardará unos dos años en recibir una respuesta sobre si el patrimonio se añadirá o no. Una vez que se nos añada a la lista, será más fácil que otros Prides se unan y entren también en la lista. ¡Qué bonito sería y qué poder simbólico emanaría!

Algunos temen que una vez que el Pride se haya añadido a la lista nada cambie ni se añada al patrimonio, y que bloquee cualquier evolución. Pero, en realidad, es lo contrario. La UNESCO anima a que el patrimonio siga desarrollándose y manteniéndose al día. Esa es la única manera de que el patrimonio siga existiendo y sobreviviendo.

La unidad representa el vínculo que forman como pareja a través del matrimonio. Pero también representa el vínculo que debemos formar dentro de la comunidad.

Un vínculo que dice que siempre estaréis el uno para el otro, en lo bueno y en lo malo, en la riqueza y en la pobreza, en la salud y en la enfermedad, para amar y cuidar, y que solo somos felices y libres cuando ambos lo somos.

El logotipo simboliza la deseada unidad de la comunidad LGBTI y del Ámsterdam colorido. Se representa todo el espectro del arcoíris y el anillo de boda ocupa un lugar central. Está confeccionado, por supuesto, en plata, el color del 25 aniversario de la apertura del matrimonio civil a las parejas del mismo sexo.

El programa de arte y cultura de Pride Amsterdam siempre tiene una agenda repleta. Participan numerosos museos, teatros, casas de arte, galerías y otros lugares de interés cultural. Además de sus propios eventos y actividades, también suelen poner sus espacios a disposición de los artistas que buscan un lugar para exponer sus obras.

No solo el Rijksmuseum, el Museo Van Gogh, el Museo de Ámsterdam, el Museo Eye, el Museo del Cine, De Nieuwe Kerk, el Teatro DelaMar y el Teatro Internacional de Ámsterdam. Foam también está programando algo durante el Pride y nuestro zoológico (Artis) participará y ofrecerá visitas de animales homosexuales del parque.

Para coordinar el programa y concienciar a los visitantes sobre la importancia de participar en el Pride, a la vez que su afición por el arte queer va en aumento, tenemos un comité de arte y cultura que se reúne periódicamente y que está formado por personas que trabajan en la industria creativa.

Pride Park es un evento super accesible para personas de todas las edades. En nuestro teatro al aire libre hay una amplia gama de actuaciones con coros, bailarines, drag queens, artistas (inter) nacionales y DJ. Te invitamos a recorrer todo el recinto del festival, ¡en los campos también hay muchos eventos organizados! El Milkshake Festival es un evento de música multigénero que se celebraen Ámsterdam y que se ha convertido en uno de los festivales favoritos de la capital. Se trata de una fiesta en la que priman el respeto, la libertad, el amor, la tolerancia y la diversión, y en la que no se tolera el encasillamiento. El Milkshake Festival celebra la ciudad y sus iniciativas, y se compromete a fomentar más amabilidad y amor por los demás. Podrás encontrar escenarios brillantes, grandes espectáculos y una gran variedad de actuaciones y visitantes.

Desde la estación central de Ámsterdam, estarás a menos de 30 minutos de la playa de Zandvoort aan Zee, la playa de Ámsterdam. Desde 2017, trabajamos allí con gran entusiasmo en un programa de Pride.

Inauguramos la fiesta de tres días en la playa con un paseo por la playa desde la estación de tren hasta la plaza del pueblo, donde hay actuaciones durante todo el día. Cerramos nuestro programa en la playa con un espectacular espectáculo de fuegos artificiales el martes por la noche.

Durante el WorldPride, organizamos un festival de cine comunitario de varios días de duración en colaboración con el "Roze Filmdagen", el Festival Internacional de Cine Migrante Queer, Cinemasia y el Festival Abou Nuwas

Se proyectarán películas de temática queer de todo el mundo, tanto en interiores como en exteriores. Las proyecciones al aire libre son siempre gratuitas, pero las proyecciones en interiores pueden requerir una pequeña contribución económica.

Después de las películas habrá una sesión de preguntas y respuestas, y tanto el programa como las charlas estarán disponibles en línea.

Tradicionalmente, el miércoles anterior al Desfile del Canal se celebra la Marcha del Pride Trans desde Oostpoort hasta Javaplein, donde se ofrece un programa de un día completo en colaboración con la fundación All Colors East. Uno de los dos escenarios es exclusivo para artistas trans.

Además de este evento al aire libre, durante el Pride también se celebran numerosos actos en interiores como talleres, proyecciones de películas, charlas, visitas a la piscina y a la sauna exclusivamente para personas trans, y también clases de defensa personal.

La Marcha Trans termina en Javaplein, en Ámsterdam Este, y después comienza la fiesta. El Pride East es la máxima expresión de la diversidad. Aquí se reúnen todos los miembros de nuestra comunidad y sus diferentes culturas.

Mujeres con pañuelos en la cabeza bailan con personas trans y drag queens de color. Jóvenes biculturales se reúnen en escenarios en los que alternan artistas emergentes y raperos de la calle. El recinto del festival cuenta con dos escenarios, un mercado con puestos de información y puestos con comida de todos los rincones del mundo.

Honramos a los pioneros y a las personas mayores sobre cuyos hombros nos apoyamos como movimiento. Se unen en este programa el anhelo de la nostalgia en una nueva forma, la conexión entre la cultura "mayor" y la "menor", y la manera en que la cultura LGBT ha influido en la experiencia cultural general durante décadas. Con respeto a la música holandesa, nuestra cultura LGBT y la búsqueda de una experiencia teatral total, el concierto ha crecido hasta convertirse en la mayor reunión de personas mayores rosas durante el Pride, sin sacrificar la intimidad.

El programa comienza en el Pride Park, donde las asociaciones deportivas LGBTI+ instalan los campos. Aquí se puede jugar al fútbol, al voleibol, al rugby o al tenis. También hay una increíble pista por la que se puede correr y talleres de Krav Maga, donde puedes aprender a defenderte mejor. Los eventos del Pride Park son gratuitos.

El viernes 31 de julio podrás participar en Love Swim en el río Amstel (500 1500 metros), la Pride Run (5/10/15 km) o el Fun Triathlon. También puedes jugar al tenis en el Pride Toss de Smashing Pink. Para participar en estos eventos se deberá aportar una contribución económica.

FIESTAS EN LA CALLE JULIO AL 1 25 años, nuestro Pride ha crecido hasta convertirse en una gran celebración. Toda la ciudad se convierte en un arcoíris de eventos y durante el segundo fin de semana el techo volará, en sentido literal y figurado, el centro de la ciudad, con fiestas callejeras en todas partes organizadas por nuestros bares LGBT. EL CANAL AGOSTO 1

Nuestro Desfile del Canal lleva varios años en la lista de los "100 mejores festivales del mundo", lo cual es, por supuesto, un gran halago, pero también una gran atracción para los visitantes que no son de aquí. En 2018, esto llevó incluso a una situación insostenible, con demasiadas embarcaciones en el canal y gente celebrando sus propias fiestas.

Para limitar estas molestias, desde 2019 se ha prohibido la música amplificada y el agua se ha convertido en una zona exclusiva para eventos a la que solo se puede entrar con un Vignet (permiso) del Pride. Todo el recorrido está dividido en tramos y los particulares pueden comprar un vignet para una embarcación de hasta 12 metros como máximo. Hay una prohibición de amarre a partir del miércoles para que el gobierno de la ciudad pueda entregarnos la ruta limpia el viernes por la noche. Después cerramos todo el recorrido y solo a la mañana siguiente se puede acceder por los conductos y franjas horarias designadas. Después del Desfile del Canal, todos los presentes deben abandonar el lugar de inmediato. Volvemos a cerrar el canal hasta el domingo por la mañana, a las 08:00, cuando devolvemos el canal al ayuntamiento.

Como el Desfile del Canal es tan popular, los precios se han disparado. Las asociaciones y fundaciones que no tienen la suficiente solidez financiera para hacerse cargo de este aumento de precios pueden recurrir a nuestro Fondo del Desfile del Canal. Este fondo, que se sustenta con ingresos comerciales, concede donaciones de hasta 5000 euros.

Pride Village es el lugar de encuentro para todos durante la segunda semana del WorldPride, donde se centralizan las organizaciones y la cultura LGBTI+, y está situado en el corazón de un lugar histórico del arte, el Museumplein

Esta gran superficie plana cubierta de césped es la plaza más grande de Ámsterdam y une las amplias avenidas, las tiendas de lujo y los majestuosos edificios de una zona residencial con importantísimos centros de cultura y la envidiable tranquilidad de Vondelpark.

En el recinto, encontrarás estands de organizaciones, empresas y otros grupos LGBTI+, dos pequeños escenarios, un gran escenario principal y una variada selección de bares y puntos de comida. ¡Es un lugar en el que todos los visitantes pueden disfrutar!

También habrá una capilla para bodas en la que los asistentes podrán celebrar una pequeña ceremonia y emitir sus votos.

En el centro del village habrá un lago en el que podrás mojar los pies, lo que es muy agradable teniendo en cuenta el cálido clima de agosto.

El Pride Village es un evento de cuatro días que abre a mediodía y cierra a medianoche.

DEL PRIDE AGOSTO

Además de mostrar que somos una comunidad bonita, diversa y multicolor, también protestamos para mostrar al mundo que no toleramos que otros nos digan cómo debemos vivir.

También marchamos por aquellos que no pueden unirse a nosotros y, para ilustrarlo, llevamos las banderas de los países en los que la homosexualidad está incluida en el código penal. Para este asunto, seguimos la lista de ILGA y también mantenemos contacto con 76Crimes, una organización que vigila la legislación antigay a nivel mundial.

Normalmente, nuestra Marcha del Pride tiene lugar durante el fin de semana de apertura y ese sábado caminamos con unas 15 000 personas desde la plaza Dam hasta Vondelpark, donde después tiene lugar el Pride Park.

Debido al WorldPride y a los grupos internacionales participantes, el desfile será mucho más grande y tendrá lugar durante el fin de semana de clausura.

En 2026, la ruta irá desde el Parque Martin Luther King hasta el Pride Village en Museumplein, y tendrá una longitud de 3,5 km (2,2 millas).

Ceremonia de apertura

Para darles a todos la oportunidad de asistir a la ceremonia de apertura se llevará a cabo la segunda semana del día de apertura de la villa WorldPride. Activistas de todos los países donde la homosexualidad aún es legalmente punible llevarán la bandera de su país al pueblo y las colocarán en estandartes al lado del escenario. In Amsterdam, everyone is free to be themselves, regardless of their ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or religious beliefs. Amsterdam strives to be a city of freedom and acceptance. The city has been a refuge for people fleeing persecution for their faith and beliefs ever since the 17th century. This has shaped and enriched our city over the centuries and is clearly visible in the over 180 nationalities currently residing in our city.

Pride Amsterdam is an annual successful and major event that celebrates and contributes to equal and acquired rights of the LGBTIQ+ community, which are still under pressure in many places in the world. The WorldPride in 2026 would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate with the rest of the world; a quarter of century of same sex marriage in the Netherlands, 30 years of celebrating Pride and the 80 years anniversary of the COC organization. COC strives for the decriminalization of sexual orientation and gender identity and for equal rights, emancipation and social acceptance

The diversity of Amsterdam is our greatest strength and very visible in our vibrant LGBTIQ+ community. The LGBTIQ+ com

Even though we are proud of this fact, there are still places in the world where same sex marriage is not yet legal. More importantly, the freedom to express your true sexual or ientation and gender identity cannot be taken for granted, not even in Amsterdam. Therefore the

As you will have noticed the Amsterdam LGBTQI+ community is enthusiastically presenting itself in a bid to host the 10th edition of World Pride in 2026. With this letter we would like to add our wholehearted support to this vent ure and we would like to explain why.

Amsterdam has a long standing tradition in welcoming people from all backgrounds from all over the world. After five horrific years of Nazi occupation during World War 2, this was also the city where some brave people decided it was time to create a safe space for themselves where they could meet, empower themselves and start advocating for their human rights. What started as The Shakespeare Club became C.O.C. [C ultuur & ontspanningsc entrum / culture & leisure center] and is now known as COC Netherlands.

Having World Pride in Amsterdam would make 2026 extra festive, because COC Netherla nds will celebrate its 80th anniversary, making it the world's oldest still active LGBTIQ+ organization.

It will also be 80 years since the United Nations drew up the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which has

our organization is co founder of ILGA. Since 1946 our work has expanded from the Dutch capital to all major towns and cities in the Netherlands. Across borders we currently support activists in 40 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia). They prove to us why i fought liberties.

COC and Pride Amsterdam have a long standing partnership. Pride Amsterdam is well known for its Canal Parade, but Pride Amsterdam and all its partners have shown us to be able to successfu lly produce a two week long inclusive platform with hundreds of activities and events for our diverse community during EuroPride. We fully trust they will succeed in doing this for World Pride. There will be so many places to go and people to see! Without hesitation we fully support and endorse the bid of Pride Amsterdam to host World Pride 2026. We are looking forward to welcoming many hundreds of thousands of our rainbow family members to Amsterdam to commemorate, celebrate and perpetuate our global co mmunity.

As Chair of NNID Foundation I fully support Pride Amsterdam’s bid for the 2026 World Pride.

NNID is an intersex led human rights organization working on the rights and equality of intersex people, and promoting the visibility and acceptance of intersex and sex diversity.

Awareness on intersex rights issues has steadily increased over the past years. However, there is still a significant stigma and most intersex people do not yet dare to be visible. As a result, the topic of intersex is often underrepresented within LGBTIQA+ communities.

We have experienced that Pride provides a great place for intersex people to choose visibility The fun atmosphere and supportive surroundings lower stress and since 2017 several Dutch intersex people choose Pride as the first place for them to be visible. It is not possible at this time to make definite guarantees as to what our organization will be able to organize in 2026. However, if World Pride takes place in Amsterdam, we will aim to organize a community event and participate in other events to ensure a visible intersex presence.

Trans United Europe Dutch chapter stood at the cradle of the trans sexworkers and trans BPOIC program of the Amsterdam Pride in 2017 and has since then always been committed to the visibility of black and brown trans issues during Pride.

If World Pride were to take place in Amsterdam in 2026, on the occasion of our fourth lustrum in addition to our regular activities, we will join forces with Transgender Europe, Aidsfonds, European Sexworker Alliance and ILGA World of which our foundation is a member, to organize research and advocacy, political and social programs for trans people and gender diverse people and allies. This conference will contain cultural, research, political and emancipatory components.

Dear WorldPride Committee, As Chair of the Homomonument foundation, I am proud to wholeheartedly support the Amsterdam bid for the 2026 World Pride.

The Homomonument foundation has been part of the LGBTIQ+ landscape since 1987. Originating from the fact there was no memorial spot for the queer community to commemorate those had fallen during WWII.

The foundation's main goals are to make sure the monument is kept lively (vibrant) and to provide a place for everyone from all over the world to have a place to go to. To celebrate, commemorate and demonstrate for their causes, the things important to them.

Over the past 35 years, the foundation has been involved in and organized numerous marches, celebrations, demonstrations, and other events; Often working closely with both local and international parties, government bodies and civil society organizations to make those possible. The initiatives are held in Amsterdam, the Homomonument but are not limited to the city and the local community itself.

A few events I would like to highlight are the memorial for the victims of the Pulse shooting and their loved ones who must miss them as well as the Pride walk. Also, because they relate to the opportunity seen that would come about with Amsterdam hosting World Pride in 2026.

When the horrible shooting took place at club Pulse in Orlando, the Homomonument was the location that hosted a large mem orial. When Amsterdam is granted the bid for 2026, I would love to take this opportunity to organize another memorial, with many people present. To not only show Orlando or Amsterdam but everyone we can reach that nobody involved will ever be forgotten. Si nce we must never forget.

in 2012, a small scale initiative set up to make Amsterdam pride even more inclusive and allow everyone the opportunity to participate. Since not all who want to do so would fit on the boats floating in the parade. The organization is a close collaboration between the foundation and Pride Amsterdam.

Where the first edition started with about 500 people walking, the most rec ent edition of the Pridewalk, which was held in 2021, had a huge turnout. ~12.500 people participated.

How cool would it be if in 2026 people from all over the world could join the walk or be a spectator to it. To show what we as a community stand for, continue to be visible and strive for acceptance for all. A march with an ring to it but definitely festive as well.

With the Homomonument foundation the aim is to show that Amsterdam is an environment open to the LGTBQI+ community while not forgetting there are many things to fight for still.

I would like to close with the fact that I am very excited about the chance of Amsterdam hosting the 2026 World Pride and hopeful the city will be successful in their bid.

As Executive Director and Co-Founder of Workplace Pride Foundation I am proud to fully support Amsterdam’s bid for the 2026 World Pride.

Being part of the ‘LGBTIQ+ landscape’ of this city for more than 15 years, Workplace Pride Foundation has seen many changes for our community, many positive but some that have a way to go. Throughout this period, our Foundation has worked closely with major local and international employers, governmental organisations, and civil society organisations to further the topic of LGBTIQ+ workplace inclusion - both here and around the world. Amsterdam hosting World Pride in 2026, the 20th anniversary of Workplace Pride, will provide a unique opportunity to highlight what has been achieved, but also what still needs to be done for LGBTIQ+ communities on the topic of the workplace and socio-economic development.

To fully engage with this topic Workplace Pride is proposing to organise the “Workplace Pride LGBTIQ+ Socio-Economic Symposium” over 1 or 2 days during the World Pride. The event will tap into the Foundation’s vast network of contacts in more than 100 major global companies who have a vested interest in creating more equitable workplaces. It will also leverage our years of experience in organising such events in many locations around the world. We are fully confident that we will be able to create a once-in-a lifetime event.

Special attention will be given to the LGBTIQ+ community in the global south. In particular, we will focus heavily on how an exchange of skills and experiences in the symposium can be beneficial to all parties. We will make a clear link to how Amsterdam has created an environment for growth of LGBTIQ+ inclusion in society and how the World Pride 2026 will help take that dynamic to the next level and provide a catalyst for change around the world.

Dear members of the WorldPride committee, We are looking forward to WorldPride 2026 to be hosted in the city of Amsterdam.

The Zero Flags Project Foundation has the objective to reduce the number of flags representing a country where homosexuality is still punishable by law, to zero. These flags (currently 71, whereof in 11 countries the dead penalty is still in place) are part of our projects and will also be part of the projects we envision for WorldPride 2026 in Amsterdam.

Monument of Visibility

71 flagpoles of 6-meter height with 71 large flags together with a black ribbon symbolize the countries where homosexuality is still punishable by law. This monument will be placed in the city of Amsterdam and information about the project, countries and penalties will be shared.

PrideWalk

Smaller flags are marching during the PrideWalk, for those who cannot join us. Our volunteers, often LGBTQI+ refugees from some of these countries, will carry the flags.

International activist conference

One of the best ways to support and motivate local activism is to offer activists the opportunity to meet with (international) NGO’s, follow workshops to improve their skills, share their experiences and increase their network. The conference will provide a safe space to share, learn and improve skills.

As mayors, we are responsible for public order and safety in the municipality. Within our municipality we think it is important that everyone can be themselves, that you can love who you want and that you always feel safe, for example on our streets, at work or when going out.

For many people, the mayor is the face of the municipality. The mayor tries to listen to all citizens and sympathize when nice or violent things happen in the municipality. We are there for those who need us and we can make a difference. As mayors we try to make connections between people, start discussions professionally in our work or in our community’s and hopefully bring people closer together. Being safe is our keyword and in our opinion also an important topic during World Pride in Amsterdam.

As Chairman of the Pride and Sports Foundation I am proud to fully support Amsterdam’s bid for the 2026 World Pride.

While the world of sports has generally become more inclusive towards LGBTIQ+ athletes, phobia against LGBTIQ+ people is still experienced as a contemporary issue. It influences athletes in such a way, that they do not come out to their teammates or abstain from participating in certain types of sport. During World Pride Amsterdam 2026, we want to facilitate conversations that help improve conditions for LGBTIQ+ people in sports. The Sports Leader Conference will be a space to share experiences, develop policies of sports clubs and encourage political action. The conference aims to strengthen the capacities of LGBTIQ+ sports clubs and communities that provide important social spaces for LGBTIQ+ people, and at the same time impact political processes in the field. The Sports Leader Conference should be a step forward to ensuring that LGBTIQ+ athletes have the opportunity to participate in sports on the same terms as other athletes.

‘Being your authentic self in sport!’

The Pride and Sports Foundation, is a national sport umbrella organization, representing the interests of LGBTIQ+ athletes and sport organisations, in the Netherlands. "Being your authentic self in sport" requires a safe sport climate and a positive sport culture for all athletes. Regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, expression and gender characteristics, in a safe environment people are stimulated to further develop themselves.

Pride and Sports Foundation is an ambitious volunteer organisation. By exchanging professional knowledge, sharing networks and supporting valuable research with various stakeholders including those from the business community, knowledge institutes, public sector and sport, our aim is to increase the visibility of the LGBTIQ+ community and influence policy, enabling everyone to participate safely in sport. Hence our Sport Leader Conference during World Pride Amsterdam 2026.

Sport has always been a reflection of the society in which we live. Today more than ever we are craving freedom and safety in every aspect of our lives. The Pride and Sports Foundation's mission is to help make sport one aspect of society that truly embodies these values.

As General Director of the Pride Photo Award Foundation, I am sending you this letter to let you know that we fully supports .

Since 2010, Pride Photo has been an important part of the LGBTQIA+ community and network in Amsterdam and the Netherlands. Every year our we organize an international photo contest around LGBTQIA+ issues, for which we award the annual Pride Photo Awards.

The annual Pride Photo Exhibition is compiled from all the entries for the contest. We pay attention to both the artistic and the narrative qualities of the images and we show photos that address different urgent themes in the field of sexual and gender diversity from all over the world. The exhibition consists of 20 large panels (approx. 6 x 7.5 feet) that is displayed outdoors and can be visited free of charge. Our annual exhibition travels throughout the Netherlands during the year. Several exhibitions have also been held abroad through the network of Dutch consulates and embassies. In these ways, Pride Photo tries to bring the photos to the attention of as many people as possible, to make them think about diversity, to start a discussion about inclusion and tolerance, and to increase the social acceptance of LHBTQIA+.

We intend to plan the route of our travelling exhibition in 2026 in such a way that the Pride Photo Exhibition will be shown at a prominent, central location in Amsterdam during World Pride 2026. In this way the exhibition will be an ongoing event and a landmark in the city during the the World Pride and could also act as a meeting point for people and activities. We are sure that this can be arranged given our years of experience in organizing exhibitions and our network in the city.

With this letter, I hope to show our full support for World Pride 2026, and also that we are willing to contribute to the event. With our support and encouragement we are hopeful that Amsterdam will be successful in their bid to host the 2026 World Pride.

Dear WorldPride Committee, As a board member of Amsterdam Gay Men’s Chorus Manoeuvre and on behalf the other two LGBTQI+ choirs in Amsterdam, The Gay Men’s Chorus - Amsterdam and Gala choir I am proud to fully support the Amsterdam’s bid for the 2026 World Pride.

The three Amsterdam Choirs represent all layers that are part of the LGBTIQ+ community in the city. Two of the choirs have orchestrated a festival of 750 people from 10 countries in 2016, this during the hosting of the Euro Pride in that year in Amsterdam

Next to singing and dancing the 3 choirs are taking part in variety of volunteer programs which include singing for elderly people, challenging the young generation with the LGBTQI+ topic and also bringing the voice of our community to the 180 nationalities being presented in Amsterdam

Special attention will be given to the new colors within the LGBTQ+ community that do not necessarily associate with the label they were born with, or indeed any label at all.

The cultural plans for the World Pride 2026.

More than 100 years ago the World Wide Exhibition took place in Amsterdam, the location was between the famous Concertgebouw (which hosted our festival in 2016) and our national trust, the Rijksmuseum. Our plans are to bring the exhibition back to Amsterdam.

In the same area as ‘100 years ago’, we have the intention of creating a village which every day during the WorldPride will host a different genre of music. Just imagine an enormous tent in which a world famous DJ, such as Armin van Buren or Martin Garrix are playing their genre to the diverse population in this place of immense historic importance.

No doubt that having hosted the EuroPride in 2016, Amsterdam is ready for the next challenge. Let the best city win.

Last but not least, Amsterdam will celebrate its 750th birthday in 2025, no doubt that the city will be ready for an extra extensive event as the World Pride one year later

The University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) plays an active part in the acceptance of the ‘LGBTQI+ community’ in Amsterdam. We started our LGBTQI+ community HvA Pride four years ago and it has become an important part of our university. Also we have an cooperation with the other higher education institutions in Amsterdam: University of Amsterdam, InHolland and VU Amsterdam. Together we organize several events in the city the rest of the year and during Pride week.

Amsterdam hosting World Pride in 2026 will provide a unique opportunity to show how we manage to work together as a cooperation by presenting Pride University. Starting at August 3rd ‘till August 9th, the Student Hotel will open its doors for Pride University. We will organize a pop up university on location for 5 days where LGBTQI+ topics are discussed. Speakers, lecturers and students from the four universities will dive into important themes to share knowledge and give an opportunity to meet people from other knowledge organizations. We conclude every lecture with a get together and on Friday with a large Pride University party in the basement of the Student Hotel, to which staff, teachers and students are invited.

Hereby DeLaMar Theatre would like to confirm its support for Amsterdam as location for World Pride 2026. With two auditoriums of 949 seats and 601 seats, DeLaMar Theatre is one of the biggest theatres in the historic center of Amsterdam. As a theatre with a big tradition of musicals, cabaret and revue we have a strong connection with the local gay community. 12 years ago we re opened our theatre after a major renovation with a long run of the show La cage aux folles. Through the years successes were celebrated with shows like The Normal Heart and Mothers and sons.

One of our main performers is Alex Klaasen, who creates shows with a strong LGBTQ IA+ profile. His shows Showponies, Showponies II and Snowponies were huge successes with long runs and a great celebration of queer representation on stage. Also during Amsterdam Pride we contribute to the cultural program, for example in 2022 with Rocky horror show and an exclusive run of Falsettos.

In January 2021 we opened a new theatre in Bos en Lommer which is a neighborhood on the edge of the city with a large bi-cultural and Islamic community. An area where there are much less arts and cultural organizations. Our theatre there is called DeLaMar West and is a hotspot for talent development, the creation of new work and the telling of new stories

We are concerned about the growing rate of hate crimes and violence against the LGBTQIA+ community. Also in the Netherlands we recognize the global trend of intolerance Bos en Lommer, where DeLaMar West is based, is one of the most problematic areas when it comes to aggression towards the LGBTQIA+ community. If Amsterdam were to host World Pride 2026 that would be an amazing opportunity to demand attention for these problems. As an artistic institution we tell stories and through our art we create awareness and ensure positive representation. During World Pride we would most definitely come with a beautiful program in both our venues with shows and performances to celebrate queerness and tell the stories of LGBTQIA+ community in all its colors

With this letter the Amsterdam Museum, the official city museum of Amsterdam, recommends Amsterdam as the suitable location of the World Pride 2026.

Let’s tell you a little bit more about our museum and the connection with your event. The Amsterdam Museum preserves and presents the historic ar ts and heritage collection of the city of Amsterdam, containing more than 100,000 objects.

In our collection we have several objects that are of great significance for the LGBTIQ+ communities worldwide. Famous objects for example are the rings of the first same-sex couple in the world that married in 2001 in Amsterdam, after The Netherlands became the first country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage.

Our collection also consists of The Amsterdam Rainbow Dress, a living, traveling work of ar t whose mission is to raise awareness about anti-LHBTI legislation and the situation of LGBT+ refugees. The sixteen-meter-long dress incorporates 75 national flags from countries where anti-LHBI+ legislation has been incorporated into criminal law. And also we have several items of the Gay Games 1998 in Amsterdam in our collection, like the logo and the flag of this event. Fur thermore the Amsterdam Museum has a long tradition in co-creating and organizing projects and events with the LGBTIQ+ communities in The Netherlands.

For instance our par tners in co-creation are COC Amsterdam, Pride Amsterdam, the Queer Network Amsterdam and Naomie Pieter (founder of ‘ Daughters of Ivory’ and cofounder of ‘Black Queer & Trans Resistance NL’, as well as the initiator of Pride of Color Amsterdam). Queering the Collections is par t of our New Narratives program line. We pay attention to sexual and gender diversity through programming based on co-creation, par ticipation and hosting.

Pride in 2026.

Unilever has been in close contact with the foundation over the past years. They have shown tremendous professionalism in organizing events at scale, such as the annual Pride which is a 9 day festival with a broad program of Arts & Culture, Sports, Debate and Religious Activities. The world famous Canal Pride is part of this as well and during the full festival, all groups of the LGBTIQ+ community are represented and can be themselves.

With Stichting Pride Amsterdam we share the belief for everyone to be their true selves. At Unilever we want to be a Beacon of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and we want everyone to be able to bring their full selves to work. We applaud Stichting Pride Amsterdam for carrying this belief for decades and being that beacon for the LGBTIQ+ community.

In 2026 we will celebrate 25 years of same sex marriage in the Netherlands, as the first country in the world to legalize same sex marriages. Celebrating this milestone in combination with Worldpride 2026 would bring millions of people to the Netherlands. It would also re emphasize Amsterdam and The Netherlands as places where we celebrate each other's differences together.

We write you in support of the Stichting Pride Amsterdam's application to host WorldPride in 2026. Stichting Pride Amsterdam has long demonstrated its ability to organize large-scale annual Pride events. Since 1996, the Stichting is responsible for the well-known Amsterdam Pride, a nine-day festival in Amsterdam with a broad program of Arts & Culture, Sports, Debate and Religious activities. All comes together during the last four days, for ihe biggest street party event of Amsterdam with stages all over the city centre, the world famous Canal Parade with many visitors from all over the world.

During the past year we have been in close contact with Stichting Pride Amsterdam to strengthen our mutual commitment to inclusion and diversity (l&D). Emancipation, legal and social equality and acceptance of all people being 'their authentic selves'. At Baker McKenzie we are focused on driving inclusive representation at all levels, strengthening the experiences of our people, and working with our clients to advance our shared l&D goals. We are about action, about tangible steps we are all making to be better, to do more, to say more, to advocate more and to be catalysts of real change. But we also, importantly, celebrate - for there is much here we can be proud of.

We are pleased with the progress we have made in some areas, but we believe we have to go further and the hard work does not stop. lnclusion and Diversity is not a project to be'completed'. Stichting Pride Amsterdam is committed to emancipation, social and legal equality and acceptance of gays, bisexuals and lesbians, but also for those who do not want to live their life according to social dominant gender roles or for those who change gender identity Maersk is a new corporate partner with Stichting Pride and will be participating in the Amsterdam Pride. Stichting Pride has demonstrated its ability to hold large scale annual Pride events. We can see they bring to full life the primary objective of the organization, which is to organize activities and events in public space and create public awareness for LGBT rights, both national and international.

At Maersk we support LGBTQI+ inclusion through MIX (Maersk Inclusion Excellence) team and Pride@Maersk Employee Resource Network helping to make Maersk an inclusive place for our employees globally, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and expressi on. We protect LGBTQ+ employees by providing a positive, affirmative environment within Maersk and take steps to ensure to address the specific workplace needs of LGBTQ+ people. Maersk played an active role in WorldPride Copehagen in 2021 and our employees have recently been collaborating with S tichting Pride to advocate externally through the Pride events in The Netherlands.
