Rationale This year for this module I have taken a selection of briefs that has given me the knowledge and confidence in being able to self-initiate and self-direct live briefs as well as my own. I chose to explore projects including surface pattern, embroidery, publication, stationary, greeting cards and weekly editorials. I managed to achieve and accomplish the briefs that I had set out to do. I wasn’t too sure about where I saw my practice fitting in as I didn’t want to limit myself so I did projects that I thought would be relevant and useful to my future practice. My aim at the beginning of the year was to create a diverse and strong body of work in a portfolio so that I could work as freelance illustrator or In House. Taking all these briefs this year has helped identify I want to explore more and expand on surface pattern, textiles and embroidery but still continue with publishing, applied illustration including product and packaging.
